Hi, Newspaper works great with LearnDash LMS.

This is just my opinion, but I don’t like Social Learner. When you build an LMS business you need to focus to keep it minimal.

When we are beginers, we add all to our LMS (Social Learner, BuddyPress, BBPress, Badges, etc.). There is a time when one discovers that all these unnecessary plugins are just slowing down our website!!). The more experience you get, the more minimalist you become. And your website starts again to work properly. Keep it Simple!

Said this, although Newspaper is not the most lightweight, it is well writen and works great with Learndash.

Hi Simion, as I want also to have the option of template 2 for other posts, I tried to duplicate template 2 for building a new template 14.

I just copied these 2 files: single_template_14.php; loop-single-14.php

Then I replaced all mentions in single_template_14.php to loop 2, and changed them to loop 14.

But, it is not showing up my new template 14 in the post editor.

Do you know how can I make show my new template 14 in the post editor?

I found the culprit: “Widgets On Pages” plugin.

I share this here, in case someone else has the same problem.

I solved it!

I just have changed in the Theme panel > Translations, the word Home by my new name.

Hi Catalin, I’ve tried the first option but “Post Settings” is not available in my Screen Options. I don’t know why.

With regards to the second option: a new fresh install from scratch via FTP. Do you mean reinstall only the theme or the full WordPress site? I am very worried because I’ve been working on this site for 5 years now.

Sorry, I mean the “Post Settings Panel”. I’ve checked in my Screen Options, but the point is that there isn’t the “Post Settings Panel” option to enable it.

Hi, is there any CSS (or any option) for removing completelly the up arrow including the box?

I used this but it only removes the icon, I need to remove also the square box:

SOLVED!! It was only a matter of custom CSS. When I changed to another theme, that CSS code was missing and therefore it was looking all right.

I’ve just removed my custom CSS code, and it is now working perfect Learndash with Newspaper 7.

Hi, well I didn’t know that Learndash and Newspaper 7 doesn’t fit together.

Both (the plugin and the theme) are very widely used.

If you are interested I can put you in contact with the plugin author.

I think that you guys (both) should make it work, most probably is something easy and you both win.

Hi, I disabled the plugins but the problem remains.

It seems something with the load sequence. At first I can see the menu, but once it completes page load the menu becomes invisible.

Later, if you scroll (move up and down in the page) the menu becomes again visible.

I’ve tried to analyze the problem with GTmetrix.com, by looking at the Waterfall load sequence of the page but I’ve been not able to find the problem. It is funny, in GTmetrix you can see the menu in the picture they take (for them it is visible):

I’ve activated the main Newspaper theme instead of the child-theme and the problem is the same.

Hi thanks. The point is that I’ve not moved my website to https. It’s been working in https for more than 2 years correctly with Jarida theme.

I moved to Newspaper theme last summer. I think it was working also fine at first. But in the last months I’ve noticed this error.

Not sure if they caused by some plugin or by the theme, or a mix of all. I am just checking it. I am using a child-theme, which could be here also the problem. I will continue searching for the problem.

I installed that plugin but it seems it is for changing data in the database. My problem seems to be with files of the Theme.

If I change files of my theme with this plugin, everytime I update the theme I will have the same problem.

In any case, maybe I am wrong and it is not an issue of the theme.
