From my web guy:

Okay I did what he suggested completely. I deactivated everything except visual composer. Cleared cache. Same problem.

I turned it all back on, but can confirm that it is not a plugin conflict causing the problem. I also disabled the child-theme I created and that didn’t do anything either.

Can you follow up with support on that forum and see if he has other suggestions?

Or even better — could I change it so I can specify any URL for the author profile picture?

Also — how can I change it so that when a reader clicks on the author’s profile picture either below the post or on the author page, it will send them to the author’s website, instead of that author’s author page? Is there a way to do this without having to use a redirect plugin? Thanks!
