I’m having the same issue with the double-loaded Twitter share window.

Regarding the ‘&via=’ tag in the code, I see I was wrong about that. But what I don’t get is that the tag is populated when you try to share via Twitter with @DC Nation (My site name) even though the twitter username is not the same as my site name. If I try to modify the code manually it shows @@CowboysNationDC Nation when it should be @CowboysNation only. How do I correct this so the Twitter functionality added by 3.7 is actually useful?

Other Plugins:
I use the publishing feature of JetPack and the official Facebook plugin (Since Jetpack makes me refresh FB connection to share posts when published at least once a week). I have used the AddThis Smart Layers plugin in the past but it was deactivated and deleted from the plugins list. The Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest share buttons load one time each, as expected.

I am having a similar issue with 3.7. The big slide and slide work fine, as does black 2 on the homepage with load more posts pagination, but right under that I have block 3 in several tabs for different categories and those are having an issue.

They each show 6 posts on native view, then have a load more posts via ajax function to load an additional 6 at a time. That pagination works. The tabs don’t though. All content in the various tabs are showing at once. The tab names are acting as anchor links on the page.

What problems are you having?

I assume you turn ‘&via=’ into this ‘&via=@TwitterUserName’ to make it work. What I don’t get is what this does? And how it differs from the sharing capabilities already in the theme prior to v3.7?

In other words, what’s the point of this feature? What function is lost when not implemented? What function is gain when implemented? The code around it appears to be standard already-included sharing functionality.

That dude is a douche. Thanks for the help. Though we’ve not interacted directly until now, I’ve read your comments and often thought about how to send you a message to thank you for your FREE and GENEROUS help on a lot of issues and ideas related to WordPress, usually not just limited to Newspaper. But alas, there is no messaging on this forum and a new topic for that seemed douchey in and of itself.

Stand by on this. Seems FTP client is hung… Looks like it grabbed the 3.5 -> 3.6 update instead. Rebooting and checking settings and will update if that was the issue.

And what a difference a couple of days away makes…

Module 5 is apparently used by a lot of the blocks as any showing the medium sized thumbnail on the home page now show no featured image – affecting far more than the status posts originally intended for this behavior.

Additionally, the changes to the excerpts from words to characters, though set at 250, shortens every slider title to about 10 characters. Those titles aren’t long enough or wide enough to fill the space they have on a default setup.

Now, how do I get the desired effect with screwing over the entire home page and without directly editing block 8 forcing me to replicate the changes with each new version released? I see child themes cannot replace blocks, correct?

I could do this another way but I need to know what modules blocks 1 and 2 use. I currently blocks 1, 2 and 8 on my home page. Check my development site where I’m working on this if you need to; http://wp.me/P4vfUC-2so.

That works perfectly. Added the custom module 5 to the child theme and removed the date, author, comments/views lines as well and it looks great. Thanks.

How long before Theme Forest actually makes available the update? Still showing 3.1 from Feb 11th.

Okay, how about this:
We’re having this problem because we each opted for unique posts only. Apparently the Last 7 Days filter won’t show posts that are already displayed elsewhere on the same page, and it’s likely that these popular posts will in fact appear elsewhere on that page. Otherwise, in most cases, how are they being viewed so much if not on the front page?

So, since that particular block filter is obviously meant to showcase trending items, it stands to reason that it should be exempt from the duplicate posts option.

This could be an option in the theme panel to exclude the Last 7 Days filter from any unique/duplicate post option, or it could simply be hard-coded.

How about it Devs?

I’m experiencing the same issue on my site at DC Nation in the 2nd row, Trending Articles. The most popular of that block of 3 posts is showing a count of 234 views since the theme was installed.

However, this post Clinton-Dix Scouting Report shows more than 700 views on the counter since the theme was installed and yet it does not show up in the Trending Articles row.

There are many other posts like that which do not show on the Trending Articles row. Use of the “last 7 days” sorting is enabled for that row and the theme and I am running no caching plugins (I deleted the default cache plugin for WordPress). I also do not filter that block by category or author, only by “last 7 days” popularity.

Same issue as OP. Thanks for checking into it.
