Thanks, Simion!

I will send you that email. I was trying to update the theme, but it wasn’t giving me the option. The issue did happen on 9.6, but I don’t recall it occurring due to the update.

Thanks,
Daniel

I deactivated all the other plugins and there was no change. So I switched the theme, deleted Newspaper 9 and the plugins, reinstalled it and the plugins, and uploaded it. Everything is still a mess…even more so.

I’m really out of my depth here, so not sure what to do. I’ll just leave it for now and wait for further instructions.

Thanks, Simion!

I actually deleted the Mobile Theme plugin (after getting rid of the AMP didn’t help). So when you were looking at it, that was without either plugin installed or activated. Doing that “fixed” things.

I have reinstalled and activated both, so you can see the issue. I think it’s okay on a mobile (from what I see), but they somehow mess up things on my desktop (e.g., https://danielpaulchristie.com/dealing-with-discouragement/)

I wonder if you could help me with some smaller related ones. These are why I actually started fooling around with the Mobile Theme and AMP settings and messed things ups.

(1) My font doesn’t carry over for formats, and I don’t know why. Here is a screenshot of it on my phone (https://prnt.sc/my2uoe) vs. on my desktop (https://prnt.sc/my2tfm). This applies on a normal browser or incognito for both respectively, so it doesn’t seem to be cache. (This wasn’t fixed by uninstalling the plugins.)

(2) I don’t know why the blockquotes/box quotes come out different on the desktop (https://prnt.sc/my2tys) vs. mobile (https://prnt.sc/my2uqg). I can’t find separate settings, so I thought they were under the same one (theme panel >> theme fonts >> post content). They are in caps and way too big for the mobile, so I would like to change that. Right now the desktop format is really wide because of the other issue with the plugins, but you can see it is in normal case.

Thanks,
Daniel

Thanks, Simion!

I deleted all the elements as you suggested, switched it in Header Manager from Global Header to No Header, and then from No Header back to Global Header, and it restored the old one. So everything is good.

Thanks again!

Thanks for reply, Simion!

Yes, it is only homepage. What is really strange is that there are no only options under Header Manager beyond the Global Header or No Header. So the homepage and my other pages look as though they are on the same setting, but clearly the results say they are not. Here are some screenshots to show: https://prnt.sc/mtn80j and https://prnt.sc/mtn8ap.

So the problem remains. I was able to edit it to make it look similar, but I cannot get it to take off the sticky menu (even though in my Theme Panel it is off). So if you scroll down on the homepage, it shows the different menu that the template set by default.

Thanks,
Daniel

Calin: That’s what I was looking for so I can have it set up and customize it! I had set up a page and tried to link it, but I didn’t realize I needed to do it under “cloud templates.” Thanks!

Edward: That explains why things changed! I installed the Yoast plugin not too long ago and you were right that the author archives were disabled. I’ve changed that now. Thanks so much!

Thanks for the reply, Bogdan!

Here’s the link the author box in question (but it applies to others I create too): http://danielpaulchristie.com.

Thanks,
Daniel
