I have made the settings as suggested but it doesn’t create the featured image from the video, I have to put this in manually, this then leads to a problem with posting to facebook as it just generates a text link for facebook post without the image no matter what I put in the yoast social media section.

Refund x 4….Yeah I might go for that. Thanks for the offer, maybe next time I’ll just buy 1 copy of the theme and use it on all my sites like everybody else does?

I’m not using the latest version of VC as “smart folks” know to test it out first.

Maybe you should tell the guys at Tagdiv about VC’s limitations so they can make smarter decisions about the software they use to make themes that they then sell on to unsmart folks for their hard earned money

Maybe there should be a grading system not for how good/bad the theme supposedly is but also something similar that relates to the complexity and level of difficulty involved in using the theme. We’ve all heard about user experience right?

I also have a problem with the theme documentation which should be re written

It’s ok telling people to go and search through the voluminous forum but when some of the info doesn’t even relate to the same theme (although I’m lead to believe they are basically the same) and some of the code is designed for use with a VPS etc then you are asking for trouble.

I just didn’t expect two of us to spend the last 3 weeks fixing and trying to find work arounds for all the issues with your theme.

I’ve bought a theme or two down the years but I’ve never had one with this many bugs/conflicts, I’ve also had my own manufacturing business for the last 25 years and know a thing or two about bringing a high quality finished product to market, personally I would not of released this theme to my customers.

I know there are an infinite number of possible configurations with servers and the like but from where I’m looking it’s hardly a robust theme is it?

I like the theme, I must of to buy it 4 times! We are now nearly in a position where we might actually be able to use it after 3 weeks of messing around, this is something I wasn’t expecting and I imagine a lot of your customers are being left perplexed by the complexity of some of the issues faced.

If you don’t know anything about altering code you shouldn’t really be buying this theme, just look at the number of questions on the forum, says it all I guess.

Yes, remove half of the content and stuff out of the pages, that should do it!

Don’t worry about it, I’ve now managed to get the matter figured out

All 4 sites only have the basic demo content loaded

Great idea to start a thread on this.

I’m just setting up the Newsmag theme with WordPress on A2 Optimzed hosting, this wordpress install comes with A2’s own plugin and W3 Total Cache pre installed and customized to make WordPress run faster but obviously not for this theme as we are having an issue with how the plugin and the theme interact

Basically we have disabled all of the cache functions in W3 total cache and the theme runs fine, as soon as we run it with the page cache it pushes all of the posts to the left side of the page.

I am running this site with site wide https:// and the problem only seems to occur on https:// for the other prefixes www and http the problem doesn’t appear.

We will be testing the plugin further over the weekend but it is difficult to tease out the functionality of W3 on it’s own as it is integrated into the A2 hosting plugin, had I realised this from the beginning I don’t think I would of gone down the W3 route but we this is where we find ourselves.

I’ll let you know the results of our testing.
