Thanks Simon, this sorted it out.

these are the same exact steps i followed when creating the page.

I can replicate everything apart from that image.

when i install the demo the image appears as it is in the demo, but when i change to another image it appears smaller, even if i revert to the original image, it will still appear smaller than it is.

The image you linked shows how to change block background color on a page.

What am asking is how to change it when the block is displayed on a sidebar as a widget.

designr

I’m still developing the site on a local server. I have already seen the color options you linked…and its clear it would have to be a custom css solution since the color I want to change isnt among the options.

What I want to change is the background color of the block?

What am asking is, is it possible to have the same sidebar for more than one row?

designr

I have read this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/ But this seems to apply only to a single row.

Yes, for functionality and customization of the page to my liking I would prefer to use blocks to build the category pages. But I was worried about the SEO implications. Will do more research on this.

About the category implementation update you talked about, when do you expect to roll it out?

Thank you anangpal and Simion.

anangpal’s suggestion gave me desired result.

Tried it, and as seen in your screenshot, this color change seems to affect the menu as well. how can this change be limited to the body only.

designr
tagDiv Member

Yes thanks, this should work.

I had already located the content wrap element using the inspector tool. The thing is I noticed changing the color of the content wrap affects all the other pages (the entire site i think).

I would like to limit this color change to only a single page.

Thanks.

Im developing the site on a local server (wamp). i started from a clean install, did not use a demo.

I was thinking of using site background color to achieve this… is it possible to set the background color of the site without the site turning into boxed version.

Alright, on my homepage I have a big grid as the first block. I have given it a background color. But there’s a white space between it and the menu.

What’s the cleanest way of making the white space the same color as the background color of the first block? Editing padding?

1. I’m developing the site on a local server (WAMP) so can’t provide a link at the moment. But generally if you create a new page, and add a row to it. Then give that row a background color, there’ll be space above and below the row. those are the spaces i would like to get rid of.

2. Cant provide a link because of the reason mentioned above. If you can create the social icons on a clean install, then you can give me the steps. I did not use any demo.

3. Thanks.

4. Alright, no problem. I will have to create the entire footer using a page then.

5. Additionally…I assume the footer of this website (tagdiv) was created using a page since I cant find any style that matches it. Is it possible to give me the code for the page?

Thanks!

The solution in the link adds a scrolling bar only when am viewing available elements.

But there’s still no scrolling bar when am editing an element – in both the general and css tabs.

How can I fix this?

continuation…

4. I have also noticed that after making the page a footer page. The sub-footer disappears. I would like to keep the sub-footer.

I have managed to set up a page to act as my footer.

1. The page has 1 row in it, but I have noticed that there’s white space both above and below the row–>https://ibb.co/dO79om ..region marked with the X. How can I get rid of this white space and have only the row I have added appear on the footer. I tried adjusting the padding from the row css tab but this does not give me a clean result across all devices.

2. I would also like the social icons to appear formatted exactly as on the footer of your website. But have it appear vertically like on this website–> https://ibb.co/b1ybZR

PS: I tried using the browser inspector but I cant make it work.

3. From the same example, I would also like to know how to add the vertical borders appearing before each column?

Thanks.

This is helpful, thanks!

Yes am now able to design a page an use it as a footer…BUT this still seems to limit be to 4 columns.

Is there a way to have more columns, 5 or 6?

Thanks Bogdan, this works!

Although, I had to use a higher bottom padding to fit it all in.

Is it possible to make the padding auto-adjust to fit the post?

The quotes you see is basically the post title. So the way to look at this is to think of the news ticker as it already is.

So my question is…if I limit the news ticker to show 1 post only, how can I make it possible for the full post title to show when viewed on mobile devices… because currently, some part of the title is cut off.

Thanks Simion, this works.

But i would like to modify it further. Block 1 has two post sizes – one big one and the other ones are smaller.

I would like to change the category tag css for only the smaller ones.

Hello Bogdan,

As user brunodups pointed out, this is a feature that is common in all major news websites – you should consider adding it to your list of future updates.

For now, two things;

  • I noticed the gadgets demo has something close to what am trying to achieve. Here is the screenshot—> https://ibb.co/bDu2bw .How can I add the square bullet points to Block 9?
  • Also I would like to be able to changed the color of the dotted vertical lines that divide the post titles, where can I change that from?
  • Thanks.

    Hello,

Thanks but this isn’t the change am trying to make – the code you provided changed the category tag for all the blocks.

What am trying to do is to change only the appearance of category tag of Block 1.

    Thanks!
