Just a site owner and using WordPress because it is fun to use. Love to watch horror movies and talk about it on my website.

Darn tinypic did not work. Here is it from postimg:

This was not using the CSS code either. Nothing changed. So theme is working fine for my website on bbpress.

Sorry! I was stupid and did not see what you were actually talking about. Did not read the whole thing. Topic started and replies created shows nothing like you said but I am also using buddypress so that is going to be removed from their profile anyways.

So you were right that it has a problem. Sorry for hijacking thread.

I am using buddypress. so I get a different page for users and goes to buddypress profiles. I guess I don’t need this fix unless I am only using bbpress only. Glad it works for you.

Update: Just tried my site without buddypress activated and everything looks fine for bbpress on mine. See screenshot.

Yep, it was Firefox. Opera works just fine. So I am using the lazy load from theme and no issues now. I don’t understand why Firefox is getting so bad. It used to be pretty good like Chrome and now it is really bad browser. At least for me it is. I am going to stay away from Firefox from now on. I just hope people will switch to something else to view my website because it just has issues loading my website for some reason. I might lose visitors if they do use Firefox as their main browser though.

Actually WP Rocket wasn’t working to well with lazy load either but just on Firefox. So I went back to the theme lazy load and just uninstalling Firefox and trying out Opera. Something seriously wrong with Firefox. I use four different browser to see the website and so far Edge, IE11, and Chrome load right. See how Opera does.

I hope this is fixed on the next update because since WordPress v4.3.1. I could of not even noticed the problem and no one was able to register but that is not the case because I would of saw new users on dashboard under users and probably got emails from contact page of what is going on.

I just noticed the issue of no emails after signup when testing a new user to the site. After doing lukas fix it worked like a charm. Please fix it as soon as possible so we don’t have to add this every time there is an update.

Sorry, this is for Newsmag too. I had to change it.

LOL! Nice sites everyone! Keep them coming. I like looking at other sites that use the same theme.

I just added your site to the proxy link you provided and no images loaded. I am in Utah. Even my site does not even load images on that proxy either but without proxy is fine.

This is the way mine is setup on my website. People anyone can read posts but just can’t reply unless signing up to the website. I think this is better and it also helps people decide if they want to join the website but for support forums, I don’t think it would be good this way but I can’t tell them how to do it.

You both aren’t crazy. I saw it too. Well, tried logging out and saw I can read posts and threads.

I use Postman SMTP plugin for mine and is easy to setup. There may be other plugins for SMTP but the one I mentioned works the best for me. I am with gmail. Chris is right if you don’t setup SMTP with you website then registered people won’t receive emails and goes for contact pages or forms too.

Just wondering why your putting this in Newsmag support and not Newspaper? No problem. Just curious.

doucare1971

Ha, I figured it out. Did not need to change the code you provided with. I just went into the theme panel and just disabled the social icons from the top bar and they were gone on both desktop and mobile. I have the social icons showing in footer. That is solved.

Would be nice to have this implemented by default for social login on the modal. Then we wouldn’t have to add each time we update theme or have to use child theme if we did not want to. On Newsmag theme too.

I was wondering how to remove the social icons from the top in this code. What needs to change in code to remove the social icons on mobile?

doucare1971

You don’t upload the straight download from Envato. You need to extract the zip folder then upload the Newsmag zip. You are getting that error for uploading all of the whole documents and everything in the download not just the theme. You just need to install the theme only zip. So you unzip or winrar or 7zip to extract the download file and then upload the theme.

If you are doing this through the dashboard via theme upload, then above is the way.

If you are doing it via ftp then you unzip the download and then unzip the theme and then upload via ftp unzipped theme folder in the wp-content/themes/theme_folder here unzipped. After that then go to dashboard and activate it.

I would be using this plugin but when I use the comment out the certain code and speed booster is activated it messes up buddypress styling within the theme. So I rather just not use the plugin and also it did not make hardly or any difference on speed of the website enabled or disabled. So those are my reasons of not using speed booster plugin. I am not sure of anyone else using buddypress.

I resolved it with the background header colors.

Your images look fine to me and not blurry or dark.

It is resolved with plugin from link above. I had to play with all the settings and put it into manual for button and choose the button style and got it to work. This plugin is perfect for it and sorry for wasting the forum space. So don’t worry about it.

Found this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/hide-show-comment/ but it doesn’t work.

It is asking for comment class and I don’t know what it is for this theme.

Same with mine but I use WP Rocket and http://www.awesomebryner.com/i-spit-on-your-grave-3-vengeance-is-hers-in-the-new-poster/ right now shows 6 views after I looked at Google Analytics shows 8 pageviews and 4 uniques but the post showed 5 just as I loaded the page and went to 6.

So both the site and analytics are off. Not that I am too worried about it but it is off to me too. I clear cache constantly and probably really don’t need to as much as I do. I clear cache just cause the site seems slow and it speeds it up when clearing the cache and I know caching is supposed to speed the site up but it seems to be doing the opposite for my site.

Nothing to start any disagreement about caching. It just seems that no matter which plugin I use for caching it does the opposite on making site faster but if I disable the plugin then the site is really slow. Go figure.

I know its for non logged in users the caching and I am logged in. So I do know that.

That Google post is actually almost a year and a half ago. It says June 2014. So really they are over a year old on those sizes.

This theme was released in November of 2014 and was after those new ad sizes. I don’t think Tagdiv realized about them.

You also have to think for your mobile site. Those ads will not show at all on the mobile.

I posted in other thread and it takes up to a week to review site as new account even if you already have ads added. If already approved then it takes two to three days for your newly placed ads via theme to start showing again where you added them. You also have to follow Googles documentation or you will get banned. They are really picky on ads on a site and no smart sidebar used with ads on the sidebar, its considered floating widget and is against their TOS.

I hope I am not bothering with trying to help here but I have used Adsense before on this theme and they do work on the ads section in themepanel. You have to add the ad code to where it says paste your code here. It then place the ad there in that place for the code you want it placed but there is a wait.

Now if you just signed up with Adsense as a new account, it takes up to a week to be approved and you can add the code to the site and set them up but you will not see anything for up to a week even if google says you are approved. There are chances that it could be sooner but to be warned it could take up to a week to show on your site.

As I sad that, now if you already had Adsense account and just adding the codes to your site via the theme being new to your website, it can take up to two or three days to show even if you are already approved. I have tried all the positions in the ad section of the themepanel for header, sidebar, article top, article inline, article bottom and custom ads but not the background ad. I never tried the background ad but all the other sections just add the Adsense codes and they should eventually show up.

It should never take more than a week to show on website though. I just wanted to give you my experience on using Adsense with the ad features of the theme. I stopped using Adsense because they don’t offer payout by paypal. Hope that helps. Also, for sidebars you still have to use the tagdiv ads widget. Ads for pages using the ad box element via visual composer.

There should be no need to add any code to themes templates in the theme. Just in the ad section in themepanel, unless you want different placements than the ad features then you hard code into the theme templates.

Its all okay. I am not worrying about it anymore. I just needed to take my mind off of it, and I am fine now. I should of just not even worried about it in the first place but when I see stupid things happening, that is why I flip out. This is one of those things. I been there and done that with premium support to know that it does not matter if its paid or not, you will still get companies out there with really bad support. Not saying this against Tagdiv or they would do that. So don’t think it was meant for you.
