Some more information, I think I just need to know which plugins to force update.

None of the ones I have installed are saying they need updating.

But from what I’ve read online manually updating certain ones will fix the issue.

The Newspaper theme is installed but it is missing the stylesheet and I am unable to see it in the installed list when trying to change themes through the customize screen.

I have the Envato Market Place installed and I can see the Newspaper 9 theme there but installing it doesn’t work as the theme is already installed.

I’ve taken backups and I’m considering deleting the theme and reinstalling to see if that works.

Please advise what is the best option to proceed?

Hi Calin,

TagDiv Composer did not update automatically today – nor the last two times. As a result, all the raw code was displaying on my homepage and made it look horrible. The blocks and their elements went missing. For TagDiv Cloud Library – that was deactivate and I had to go to Plugins to activate it. During that time all templates reverted to the default template.

So whenever a new version is updated there is a period of time when the website looks bizarre until the two plugins are updated. Hence my question, is there a way to do these updates without making the website look horrible?

Thanks

Simion,

I do not wish to prolong this … you have a great product and I am grateful for it. However, I do need the following explained to give me (and my boss) as the code deviate from W3C rules.

1. Closing quotes without a corresponding opening:
<div "></div>

2. This new attribute
<div "="></div>

Simon,

The reason I asked is that there are some incomplete attributes in your code. I do understand the strange one for functionality but you do have some that break cardinal rules.

For example, you have closing quotes without a corresponding opening …i.e. <div "></div> and I am told to ignore this. That’s just not right!

You also have a very strange markup <div "="></div> which I would like to know what exactly that means.

So while you tell me to ignore your special attribute (and I will), I would like an explanation for the incomplete attributes and the equal sign as an attribute.

Thanks

Then can you tell me how to achieve a validated HTML – here are some of the errors that W3C validator reported including this one http://www.screencast.com/t/WYoqkjUJ

SOLUTION: Puzzled solved.

The issue was TD Composer. Once that is enabled, it prevents the normal assigning of templates and sidebars to individual pages. The pages that already had the customised sidebar were done before I installed TD Composer.

I temporarily disable TD Composer (which caused my home page to go kaput) assigned the template and sidebar I wanted and then activated TD Composer again.

Now this worked okay because it is in development, but on a live site, this just may not be possible. Do you have a solution?

Thanks
Terry

P.S. In addition, I’ve other other pages that are not using TD Composer that have two layout formats – one is a two-column format (content + sidebar) but with a blank sidebar. The other format is just one column. I have been searching through the theme panel but cannot locate how I manage to achieve these and I am unable to replicate them.

Please ignore my last request. I figured it out.

Simon,

I am having two problems with the image display for my post template style 6. When the image displays as a single post, much of the image is missing, even though I use a large image as you recommended. Can you have a look at my dev site please?

Also, on the single post template you would see that it is a box design even though I have no background image or colour set. How do I make this appear like your demo https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-the-new-screen-savers-the-show-that-launched-video-into-the-stratosphere/?

Thanks

I want only posts in one category to list the author’s name.
Is there a way to do this?

Hi Simon,

Thanks. I will use an aspect ratio of 1.9:1 as the standard.

For the pages sidebar, I found a solution. I created a navigation menu with the group of pages I need. Then I used the Navigation widget which allows me to select that menu from a drop-down box. works well.

Thanks. I used the custom code in the theme panel and it worked perfectly.
