Thanks! Yeah, that was exactly it.
Uploaded photo is 1920 x 973 – in the visual editor it shows it as being wider than the text. So I’m not trying to make the thumbnail larger. I just want it to show closer to the size I actually uploaded, vs. the size being enforced by the theme.
In the demo it shows pictures being wider than text. I’d like to be able to do the same.
Couple things:
That post is a poor example re: Zemanta – I used to use it, but have since deleted it, but the remnants are the same.
That being said, I’m not terribly bright on where I’d put the shortcode, or how to find the shortcode, any of that.
If I use the post templates as they are in the theme? No problem. See here as an example:
http://sunnyinkabul.com/2015/03/07/4-reasons-nato-used-a-white-lady-to-explain-afghan-lady-problems/
It only gets jacked up if I use the post formats to move text in, like I did in the other post above. So it works fine until I go with that “no sidebar, indent text” look.
Make sense?
And…realized I didn’t answer the question: yeah, the fonts you show in the inspector panel? Those are correct.
Those are, or they were, but, for example:

These are NOT the fonts I’ve picked.
Are you seeing the same?
Tried it without plugins, and I don’t use cache plugins.
It ONLY happens when I open the custom typography panel and change ANYTHING. Then when I log out of the admin panel, clear the browser caches, and try to look at the site, the fonts aren’t at all what I’ve selected.
I just tried it using my iPad (Chrome browser all around) and it looks like this:

So then I open the theme options panel, open/close (but do NOT change) fonts on things like Mega Menu, headlines, and now it’s fine.

Again, this ONLY happens when I do ANYTHING in custom typography.
What sites are you using them on? Curious to see other applications of it.
I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money over the years chasing the “perfect” theme. Huge HUGE fan of the layout options. There are times when I don’t mind having the sidebar, but longer posts, like the fact I can dump it if I’d like to do so.
The one thing I liked about NewsMag right off the bat was how the front page blocks look. Not sure why there’s the centering issue with NewMag. Might have to try a dev site to tinker with it, rather than running it on my live site and work out bugs.
And I really really hate those layout borders.
Also a huge fan of their support – by far the best I’ve ever seen from a theme purchase.
Yeah I tried the Newsmag theme, did all the steps you outlined in your helpful post on migration. But between posts being off-center, the layout borders (which I’d like to remove), I went back to Newspaper.
There’s several things I like about the Newsmag layout, but it was turning into a bit of a battle to get everything set right, and switched back.
OK, did the steps outlined above.
Still getting the same notice on my admin page, that I need to update the plugin.
Do I just ignore that and wait for the next theme update?
Great…just the answer I was looking for.
Perfect. Exactly what I was trying to do. Thanks!
That…is awesome. REALLY enjoying this theme.
Do I need to do that for each paragraph then?
