I have the same problem and it does not seem to resolve with cache purging…

After many tests and backups I found the cause.
When I add this specific image (https://www.vincimi.it/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/concorso-pandora-2025-4.webp) to an article (as featured image) the site brokes (homepage 403 error).
If I add a different image it works correctly!

Is it possible to reinstall Newspaper Theme? How? Delete and reinstall?

It’s a problem with home of the theme. If I change the “home” with the “reading setup” it works, if I change theme it works.

I use only Wp-rocket caching system and to disable it I should use a plugin.
What I do not understand is why desktop pages work perfectly and mobile don’t.

Both Mobile Theme Plugin and AMP are not installed but mobile pages do not refresh.
In mobile site homepage does not refresh and also article pages do not count views, they seem “freezed”.
Desktop pages work perfectly.
Any other idea?

The site (www.vincimi.it) now has very good scores for desktop but still poor scores for mobile (First and Largest Contentful Paint).

Hello, my settings were different. With yours is much better.
There’s only one thing about css.
WP-ROCKET suggests to use “Remove Unused CSS” rather than “Load CSS asynchronously” as in the setup you sent me.
What do you think about?

I bought and installed WP Rocket but th e Core Web Vitals did not get better at all…
Any ideas?

Actually I already use optimized images (webp format).
About WP Rocket plugin it’s quite expensive (59 euro/year).
Anyway one of the main problem is Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) parameter. Do you think WP Rocket can fix it?

Actually my question was to find out if the counter is incremented only when an article is actually opened (“sinlge post template”) or also when the preview of the article (image and title only) appears on the homepage or in some side bar for example.

Because I tried with a simple post with few words an it didn’t happen.
I tried again with the original post and it happened again.

I think the import/export option of the theme is what I need because I already have the site running with another theme, so I would like to transfer only the Newspaper settings.
Otherwise I can create a dev copy of the actual live site, customize the newspaper theme, and then migrate the whole site back. Right?
