yes, I realiazed this and figured an easy work around.

Here is a brief overview:

1. on desktop show the background video as you normally would.
2. use the icon at the top of TD composer to hide this from mobile devices
3. on mobile and tablets, again use the layout icons at the top of the TDcomposer to define the style for each mobile device, and add a custom row just for the mobile device.
4. Use an animated GIF an an image backgorund derived from the video to show only on mobile
5. hide it from from the desktop.

I have it working now and it’s a solid workaround. The gif qaulity could be better, but it is indeed working. I will work on the qaulity later.

yes, I have the stock social icons. The plugin works fine.

but what I am saying is that it could be even more robust.

There are default fields for social networks listed for me to fill out for each team member. but its limited on what fields are availble. for example, a basic icon feild for the team member website or author page on the wordpress install.

of course you can add html in here and customize it the way you want.
but it should be included by default so you dont have to partially use the plugin, and partially use html. Possibly some sort of field where a custom icon can be chosen and it will line up with all of the other icons that are built in and populated from the existing fields.

I sat here for hours writing custom code that just wasnt producing the results I wanted….then I saw your post. The AH HA! moment!

The GIF “video” solution seems to work as a workaroud.

and now I have figured out how to have one for desktop and one for mobile.
and both of them auto play.

I thought those icons were only so you can preview what the page would look like….I had no clue that this would control the visibility of things.

I am wanting to know as well.
My youtube video background looks great on desktop. But the video on mobile is just a still pic from the video and the play button wont play the video on mobile.

but how does this apply to posts within blocks on specific pages?

This code helped me alot as I have a couple standalone pages with blocks on them that I dont want the regular categories to appear sometimes.

Is it possible to custom rename or select a specific category?

for example:
The code you have provided hides the category name altogether. What if I wanted to display only a certain particular category?

the reason:
I have an article in two or more categories. Other thsan the home page, The page that the article displays on is a standalone page. the category tag will show the 1st alpha category that the article is listed in.
but since this might be an advertisers page, I need it to show as being located in a particular category.

example:
The post originally is availabe in categories A,B,C
When I display the module block and filter by the category “C” it will show the article but it category tag of “A” because that is what is listed first for the post because it shows categories by alpha.

What if I wanted it to display the category title/tag on the block but show a custom category name?

Same issue here, reinstalled template, cleared all caches, no cdn os used, disabled cache and the issue persists.

I am having the same issue and have not found a resolution as yet.

I was just making a suggestions that the next version should include some more comprehensive features as I feel that a few basic ones were overlooked.

There are several icons a team member would potentially need other than social media.
such as Thingiverse.com or any of the other 25+ various websites for 3d modeling that allow you to have profiles.

so you see, since it is impossible to determine what a team will specialize in, then it should be possible to add a custom icon to better suit the needs of the user and not just limit it to embedded liks or predefined social media platforms.

I only have a the few plugins that either come with wordpess, the template package, or from jetpack.

as I mentioned there is no active cache on this site, and no cdn.

Was causes the + sign to appear? under normal circumstances?

It has to be coming from the template in some way as none of the basic plugins have the functionality to hide or show social media button with a + or – sign.

note: disabled all plugins, issue remains.

The bottom sharing buttons when enabled, also behave in the same way

If I add a news block on the page at the bottom and set it for infinite load, then it loads infintly until it runs out of articles.

why is this being advertised as a feature if it not possible?

I am also having the same issue.
Facebook shows 0 fans

Twitter, Insta and Youtube all work as expected.
Facebook still shows zero.
page is is correct
app id is correct
secret and token resolve properly and instantly.

I have tried using the “vanity” facebook page name and also the numeric page id.
both result in the same issue “0” fans.

all caches cleared..old and new devices still see “0” fans for facebook.

I just purchased this on October 16th so it is the latest release version as far as I know.
