Hi Simion, updated the theme today to the lastest version and still seem to have the issue. Any other input?

Hi Simion, nothing out of the ordinary. I just upload the image and select “add media” when I want to add it to a post. Haven’t done anything I normally wouldn’t do. I think there is an update for the theme so I’m going to update and I’ll report back if that helped.

Not sure what this has to do with the issue I’m having on my site. Please allow support staff to answer first. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I emailed the support email and Bogdan was able to provide the answer to my problem. See..

“Hello,

This is caused by your images linking to external sources. For the modal image to work, the image must link to the media file as mentioned by this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/modal-window/

Thanks for the reply and help.

Is forum or email support the best option to get assistance? Not sure where I’m suppose to go as a customer.

There are literally thousands of plugins that work fine for WordPress themes with no conflict.

The Tagdiv support policy troubles me. I will go with another theme for future websites I create if I know support stops at a list of 10 plugins.

I’m not asking you to code the plugin, just to get eyes and identify where the conflict may be. It could be with the theme!

As mentioned, this plugin works with other themes just fine. Would love to be able to get the extra eyes on this issue from support before you decide to ignore me.

How do I start a ticket? I feel this is something that should be at least looked into by the Newspaper team to rule out issues with the theme. I’ve seen the plugin work just fine on other themes.

When I deactivate the “Parler commenting” plugin the issue goes away. However, I’m curious if there is a solution to fix the sidebar issue temporarily without having to deactivate the comment plugin?

Joe Jerde

So I tried adding this bit of code to move the sidebar over but it is still distorted…

.td-ss-main-sidebar {
left: 65%;
}

Thoughts?

According to Yoast, there is no need to have any of that in the robot txt like it used to be. You can see that they don’t create any rules… https://yoast.com/robots.txt

Hey Simion, good to hear about the CSS optimization and reduction. Always nice to know that the devs are looking for more ways to simplify for performance.

The only thing that worries me is that this is the only theme I use that I get this error. And I don’t put a lot of trust in what Google says as it’s always changing.

I have two other websites with identical setups (plugins, server, ect) besides the theme and they don’t get the mobile errors. So no question, it is a Newspaper theme issue.

I’m having the same issue as well. 7 pages have been found with the error. And you are right, sometimes the test will bring back normal results and sometimes not. My robots.txt file is fine.

The question is, does Google penalize our sites because the errors are happening in the first place?

And I tried the mobile theme but do not like it. It feels unfinished. My site is already pretty simple so not worried about loading time.

Any solution to the mobile friendly errors?

So I just figured out the issue with mine. There was a htaccess file in the wp-content directory that had the following line of code…

<Files *.php>
deny from all
</Files>

# Protect the log files
<Files ~ “\.log$”>
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from all
</Files>

So I just renamed the htaccess file so it wouldnt’ be active and all is working fine now.

I’m having same issue with WP Editor. Does the Edit Content work when using the “Title with Text” element? I can’t get it to work on either.

Hi Simion, sent reply to Bogdan and he said my site was getting a “404 error on a tagdiv composer file.” I made sure all folder and file permissions were set okay per his recommendation. I also reached out to host, Godaddy, and they said there is no block or security block on any files on my site. So I currently sit without a solution.

Hi Simion, already sent email a few hours ago with login info to wp admin and ftp.

Looks like multiple people have been helped on this issue already. Would it be possible to post the solution here in this thread so people searching like myself can resolve?

Joe Jerde

Same problem here. Just updated my site to the latest version. Did all necessary checks.

Have the same issue. System settings are fine. Not sure what to do.
