Hello,
I didn’t receive any reply after 16th Nov.
Didn’t receive any reply from you for my last email.
Hello,
My mobile menu is not opening.
Can you please check? Locate_template() function still works with new version?? Can it cause an issue?
Hello,
You’re getting me wrong.
See I have a child theme. This single_template_1.php file is modified in child theme. Moreover, it represents “Style1” in the Theme panel > Post settings.
So it was available to edit these files earlier. But it is not modifying anything now and not reflecting it on frontend.
Thanks.

We updated everything but css and js files are not working properly.
Do you mean we have to check each and every file we have overwritten in child theme?
Also we didn’t receive any updates in “updates” tab of newspaper theme options. Please let us know why it happens
There is no issue of php version.
As soon as I activate newspaper-child theme, I am receiving an error “td_global” not defined in header.php .
Latest version of newspaper theme 11.4
Okay thanks.
We will update you on this in few hours.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, we’ve been waiting for months for this to be solved in parent theme as we have done lots of customization in template files via child theme to fit our custom design customization. Would you please push this issue to the developer team and ask them to solve it in next update as we are unable to update theme to its latest version because of it. Hope you understand!
Thanks.
Hello Simon,
Any news on above point for adding support for child theme, we are unable to update theme on our site due to these template file structure changes in main theme folder.
Could you please give an update is this solved in latest version of theme and can we work on updating theme to its latest version ?
Thanks.
Sure – I will email you shortly. Thank you.
Thanks Caline – we don’t use a CDN but will this help with performance?
We have configured our site correctly however when running ests and monitoring them, the time it takes for the pages to load can be over 8-10 seconds – occurring in the back end of the site.
Hello Simion,
Thanks for your reply !!
Yes please add this to the future updates so we can customize site as per our requirements. Can there be a quick release sent out so we can move ahead with the changes. Or can you get us files we need to change to make changes to use booster files via child theme.
Thanks.
Hello Support,
Thanks for adding support for legacy files edit in child theme. But, still there are some files that we cannot edit eg td-composer/legacy/common/wp_booster/ files
We have customized many files from this folder in our child theme when the files were in theme folders to match our designs. Could you please also add support for the files from wp_booster folder so we can customize it via child theme.
Looking forward for your reply !
Thanks.
Hello Simion,
Thanks for your reply !!
We will be waiting for the new updates, so we can customize the files and get our site as it was before :).
Thanks for looking into it. We hope the new release will solve all issues and all should be good there after.
Thanks again for your help !!
Few more files that aren’t editable via child theme:
/comments.php
/404.php
/single.php
Hello Simon,
Thanks for your reply !!
Yes we had customized the header-style-1.php as per your screenshot its working.
But there are other few theme core files we had customized via Child theme, they are no more working.
List of not working files:
/search.php
/parts/page-search-box.php
/parts/header/logo-h1.php
/includes/wp_booster/td_category_template.php
/includes/wp_booster/td_module_single_base.php
Can there be a new update to theme released so that all child theme file issues are solved. Also we are working on other files list that aren’t editable via child theme.
Thanks.
Also yes we have customized via child theme following the documentation link given below.
#4 says you can edit header file but its not working.
can you please check into it.

Catalin thanks for your reply.
Yes we have updated theme to its latest version on our site.
The issue is as theme has moved /parts and /includes folder to plugin we are unable to overwrite it via child theme. These two folders were inside theme folder previously we easily customized file inside these folder via child theme. Now as the files are moved to plugin folder /td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/ we are unable to modify files.
Eg.
Say we want to edit header-style-1.php via child theme its not possible it breaks the header as this file has require_once(‘header-menu.php’) we need to change it to plugin paths, then it works.
Also /include folder files like /includes/modules/td_module_1.php we cant edit it.
some files in /parts folder is working but some doesn’t and /include folder no file is editable. Can the theme add compatibility that we could edit the files via child theme easily. This would be really helpful as we have customized lots of theme core files from /parts and /includes folder which are now moved to plugin.
Hope you will now have a better idea what we are trying to achieve.
Thanks.
