I am still seeing the masonry gallery fail on occasion, such as now, 9:55 a.m. Hawaii Time April 19, 2016.

1) Masonry grid is now working – must have been temporary bug. Relief!

2) I should not have to add a sidebar to every new post – it should be controlled by the Theme Panel Per category settings (as previously worked), so that every post in a category gets its category sidebar. That is one of the main benefits of the template and using a category > it creates the proper layout for the post… something changed since theme update, but I did not change anything.

The sidebar is also not showing on the new main category page –

Notice on this main category page, the sidebar shows up:http://mauimagazine.net/category/archive/march-april-2013/
However, on this newly created main category page, the sidebar does not show up: http://mauimagazine.net/category/archive/march-april-2012/

I updated my htaccess file. It seems to be fixed on my machine, from what I can see. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a few days or up to a few weeks to test with other users’ systems since the site is still hidden from public view at this time. So I may need to follow-up later if it’s not resolved for all users, but for now, I’ll hope and assume that it will be.

Thanks for your help on this.

Is there a way to change the gray background behind images to white instead? So it looks better on the website which uses a white background?

Thanks!

Here’s a print screen so you can see for yourself: http://prntscr.com/9vr1ng

This occurs when the IP address is pointing at the new & future host of the website… trying to launch but have been getting stuck with bugs to fix.

Hi, the problem occurs for different users on different devices using various browsers. Some users show the characters, some show the correct social icons.

When I point our main domain IP address to the host where this site lives, the boxes appear instead of the social media icons.

So it’s a problem occurring for various users. If you can commit to a specific time to review with me, I can point the IP address at the domain so you can investigate the problem.

Thank you.

Sorry, it’s very difficult to get support before the site is launched, but I cannot launch the site until the bugs are all fixed! 😉

I was able to find the download and generate buttons at the bottom of the icomoon.i site and I uploaded the new files to the FTP but it has not fixed the issue.

Some of my staff is also seeing the problem, but others are not.

I’m also having this problem now at mauimagazine.net. I’m trying to follow your instructions to fix the broken social icons on my site, but the icomoon.io/app buttons do not offer a “generate font” or “download” button that I can find anywhere.

Can you help?

I”m deactivating plugins to find which one is causing the problem. But what do you suggest I do if it’s a plugin that I really need to use??

Thanks,
Adelle

I’m getting this fatal error when I try to edit my widgets today. 🙁

Fatal error: Unknown: Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers in Unknown on line 0

page url: https://wordpress.mauimagazine.net/wp-admin/widgets.php

I cannot view the widgets page at all.

Thanks, I’ll email so you can look at the code.

Hi, I successfully added the new ad boxes. I can see that new slots to input the ad code from the ADS section of the Theme panel, however, I still have a problem. When I go to a page or post and I want to insert a new custom ad, say #8 custom ad, the visual editor only shows the options for custom ads 1-5, not the new ones I’ve added.

So I cannot figure out how to actually insert the extra custom ads into a page.

I appreciate your help!

Update: I found the error – it’s very strange, and it happened in both PHP files.

Even though I copied and pasted the code exactly from the line above, the code did not paste the correct version of the apostrophe character, and broke the PHP using an apostrophe that looks almost identical but must be a different character. Super strange. I had to look super close at the screen to see the difference. I had to correct this apostrophe error in both td_config and td_panel_ads files.

Now I can see it working properly with 3 custom ad sizes.

Thank you.

So the broken component is now fixed, thankfully, but I still would like working instructions on how to add more custom add boxes without breaking the site.

Thank you!!

UPDATE: I fixed this.
— IGNORE BELOW —

I tried deleting the td_config.php file on my server and uploading its original file from my theme folder on my local hard drive but it’s not fixing the error. I can’t tell why the file is not working correctly. 🙁

I checked line 1113 and there is no obvious error on that line, it looks as it should.

I cannot edit the ad boxes at all now, the Ads section is totally broken within the Theme Template.

I followed these steps below to create more custom add boxes:

Edit td_config.php and add it like this: http://screencast.com/t/LjL18ZfbL Then just make add it in td_panel_ads.php file – http://screencast.com/t/UB3dwNgI68
Now you can add your code in Theme Panel > Ads – http://screencast.com/t/z3ROmJFEL and display it in your page – http://screencast.com/t/aNBwX5azB

The result was it broke my website, creating this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ‘)’ in /home/mauimagazine/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php on line 2006:

I overwrote the file to fix the website, but I was hoping you can help me successfully add more custom ad boxes without breaking the website.

Thank you!

UPDATE: Actually it turns out I broke it a bit worse than I realized — my Ads section on the theme template is broken, saying: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/mauimagazine/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/panel/views/td_panel_ads.php on line 1113

That is the most urgent fix I need now 🙁

Hmmmm I tried that but it doesn’t work…. On my home page, I am using one instance of block 13 and it doesn’t render as it should in its example. The item shows a photo of a fish in yellow sauce on the far right column, underneath the calendar.

http://wordpress.mauimagazine.net/

Any other advice?

Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, this solution does not work for me. I need EVERY module in the entire site to remove the meta info so that it removes the extra spacing that shows up when no meta info is included. Except for block 13 – that one needs to use its meta info or else the block does not render correctly. I don’t know how to use CSS to simply show the meta info on block 13 while excluding it from everything else on the website.

Suggestions?

Thank you.

Iʻm using this code to remove the meta info: .td-module-meta-info { display: none !important; }

A problem now is that the code removes the info I need to show for Block 13… Any way to fix that easily with css?

Thank you so much!

I changed some more settings on the Category template and I am able to choose a different one that does not show the error. Not sure if this is a permanent solution but is working for now… Thanks!

Hi Alin,

Thanks, I was able to increase my max_input_vars to 5000 and I am still seeing the problem. I cleared the cache and I have tried re-saving the Category template again.

Problem still showing:

I still need some help to fix this. Thank you!

I am also getting these errors. I went to Theme Panel>Categories and re-saved the settings. I also went to the exact category showing the error and changed settings, saved, and cleared cache. Still getting errors on this page:

http://wordpress.mauimagazine.net/category/maui-magazine/publisher-note/

Can you help me remove the error messages so they content will show properly?

I have not done the latest update that just came out. Will that affect it?

Thank you!
