Hi Anamaria,
Can you please update that broken link?
We also have sudden missing favicons on goalpoint.pt with no apparent reason, tks in advance
Hi Calin,
Thanks for your reply, we will contact the developer team. Do you have any idea of the current workload to estimate a response time?
In the meanwhile I have another, sort of, related question. We followed the steps below:
– Created a new category, let’s call it “_XXXYYYXXX” for now (the use of the “_” is intentional so it is the very first in the list when multiple-categories are ticked for a post)
– Imported a Category cloud template.
– Edited that Category template and clicked the “Manage” button, to select a header and a footer (other than the global one) to display.
– In the theme panel, we set the CATEGORY CLOUD LIBRARY TEMPLATE “_XXXYYYXXX” to use the Category cloud template we imported and edited. (*edit)
We then tested the behaviour under the following scenarios:
– Visit to category Page https://www.blah-di-blah.com/_XXXYYYXXX
– Visit to post where only the category “_XXXYYYXXX” is ticked but the primary category is NOT set
– Visit to post where only the category “_XXXYYYXXX” is ticked but the primary category is set to “_XXXYYYXXX”
– Visit to post where the category “_XXXYYYXXX” is ticked along with other categories, but the primary category is NOT set
– Visit to post where the category “_XXXYYYXXX” is ticked along with other categories, but the primary category is set to “_XXXYYYXXX”
(*edit) We also tested the same scenarios above with the Theme Panel POST CLOUD LIBRARY TEMPLATE option set to Inherit from Post Global Settings, as well as by selecting a cloud single template (where we had selected the same header/footer as the Category Cloud Template).
In all cases the resulting output on the browser respected the cloud template Header setting, however the Footer kept displaying the global setting.
Is that the intentional behaviour of the theme?

Pedro

Hi Bogdan,
For some reason the CSS
.tablepress * {margin-bottom: 0px;}
Now works fine with the desired result…
Hm.
Thanks
Hi Bogdan,
Thanks for coming back on this.
I added the suggested CSS in Theme Panel > Custom code > Custom CSS but it did not work…
the margin (top and bottom) is already 0px for “.td-header-style-6 .td-header-rec-wrap .td-a-rec-id-header > div”
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Hi All,
Just reporting back, that the issue is now fixed.
After all, it was deeper than the theme and WordPress, and related to the setup of the server.
Switched to PHP v5.5.9 and all the issues were gone. Must be some issue with the setup of PHP v7.0, which was a little anothodox.
The website is now working as expected, we will revisit PHPv7 at a later date.
Thanks all
p.s. Chris S – We suspected that at first, mainly as a result of multiple google searches. But it did not fix the issue.
Hi Bogdan,
We disabled the simplecache plugin, and installed WP Super Cache, and the behaviour is the same.
We also run the site without WP Super Cache with the same behaviour.
The next thing to try is to increase the WP Memory Limit from 64MB (to 256MB just to test) and see if that gives us any joy.
I will report back.
Cheers
Hi all,
Just to add some more detail. We have changed the WP debug settings and we can see the following lines in debug.log
[06-Oct-2016 20:46:11 UTC] PHP Notice: Use of undefined constant FS_CHMOD_DIR - assumed 'FS_CHMOD_DIR' in /var/www/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 432

Not sure if related, but do you have any idea on how to resolve this?

Thank you Bodgan,
… but i did it 🙂 Guess Newspaper is even more powerful than we would realize.
with the proper html setup i was able to make it work, both from a text link or an icon link (clicking a DB stored image in modal mode from clicking both).
Still have to test it inside Tablepress but in what concerns a normal article or page i was able to do it easely just with html.
Thanks for the quick reply anyway, Newspaper rules
cheers,

@modernmavens I didn’t do anything special other than just sticking to the previous version. I’m looking forward to update to V6 but I decided to wait a bit over the usual updates and corrections since I’m a newbie so my ability to fix significant mistakes would be nonexistent (I don’t even know how to set up a testing clone so when i update i update live, which is… “radical” :)).
Anyway have you tested the V6 demo on mobile to check if it shows the same problems as you are finding? If not maybe you done something wrong. In my case i didn’t touch anything, i’m just using the big slider with no CSS mods, i used to have some but i dropped them when i updated to the Newspaper version I’m using.
cheers,
Thanks Stephan, been taking a look at Mail Chimp ourselves, thanks for the hint, already looked like the best way to go. We really have to go that way since a newsletter is the top #2 item our visitors are asking for (the 1st i guess is moving to a stronger hosting solution, we are peaking our current package :)).
cheers
Very cool to see all this websites popping in, cool to share.
I see some of you guys use a newsletter/opt-in solution on your websites. Based on your experience what do you recommend/ believe work better with Newspaper?
cheers

GoalPoint
Tks Radu, it could be much better if any of us had skills but we are mainly stats and numbers, not webdesign. But looking forward to apply Newspaper 6 and get the most of it. Hope others join this list, it would be great to exchange ideas.
Here is an article example, in english for non-portuguese speakers to understand the context between the theme and content: http://goalpoint.pt/blog/goalpoint-in-english/analysis-is-william-carvalho-ready-for-premier-league_14902
Tks for the sticky, cheers

Thanks Chris,
Great input.
One more (newbie question). I’ve read something about duplicate urls specially in WordPress websites meaning that i bought a WWW domain (www.goalpoint.pt) and it works (redirects automatically) but my real website URL is (http://goalpoint.pt). Does this have an impact on these stats? Should i be doing something codewise reagarding this to make my newspaper/WP website better in SEO terms?
I ask this because another warning I’m getting via SEO site checkup is this:
Your site’s IP does not redirect to your site’s domain name. This could cause duplicate content problems if a search engine indexes your site under both its IP and domain name.
Also some of this tools say this:
URL Canonicalization Test – OK – http://www.goalpoint.pt and http://goalpoint.pt resolve to the same URL.
while others say i’m missing a 301 redirection of these URLs to the same final URL.
Confusing, specially for a newbie (it’s a miracle i have the site up and looking good with the kind of skills i have, says wonders about WP and TagDiv), and specially worrying about SEO levels.
Thanks in advance for all the feedback, much appreciated,
Cheers,
Pedro Ferreira
Hi Chris,
Thanks on the feedback? I haven’t done nothing custom per se and i don’t even know exacly how to do that (my usage is “newbie level”, i just use the WP Bo funcionalities, i don’t venture on css or direct html editing) but your views on why this is happening make sense. I will try different setups using the visual composer and the theme BO but i hope Google fix this and/or Tagdiv can help us in sorting this out, it really messes up presentation.
All the best,
Tried it all, doesn’t work. I tried adding a similar component on another page via the presentation > widget sidebar but the same “frozen” articles appear and i’ve checked the views: some of them have 0 views in the past 2 weeks so it’s definetely frozen.
I guess it might be something about a plugin but wouldn’t it probably mess other sorting criteria (eg. the latest articles sorting option works fine, even after the update, this problem is restricted to the 7 day sorting issue).
I think i’ll have to remove this content which is a pitty since it was working fine before the update. Let me know if you find any other reason for this, for the time being i will just remove the 7 day sorting content, hoping that at least in a future theme update it get’s back to working properly as it did before.
best regards,
Hi Alin,
Thanks on the input. I still haven’t moved on the CSS part because unfortunately i activated the post view count and nothing seems to impact the 7 day sorted list.
You can check it on the same right side component on my hopepage http://goalpoint.pt/ under the tab “+ Lidos (7 dias)” on the right of the “FUN” component. The view counting is working OK but it doesn’t seem to affect the frozen 7 day list that has been like that ever since i updated the theme.
I tried removing and reinserting the component but with no sucess. Any other hint on how i can “reboot” that list and make it work effectively?
best regards,
PF
Hi Alin,
Thanks for the reply. That doesn’t make much sense (although i will try it) because i disabled post views from the beggining, since the views coming from WP are much lower than the real traffic and readership in each article so i didn’t want that info to show on the article. As i mentioned post views were disabled from day one yet, until updating the theme, all went well with the 7 day sorting. On the other hand disabling post views showing on the pages doesn’t mean WP doesn’t register the views anyway so the theme should be able to track that info and use it for this function, as it has been happening untill this problem ocurred right?
It looks very stange. Isn’t there a way to fix this without including post views on my article page?
Here is the post where this happens. Please click on page two on the pagination below to see what happens to the featured image.
Hoping for some feedback, tks

Jorge, és o maior (em português), obrigado por isto.
Hi Lucian,
Many thanks! With the help of a friend i was able to bypass the problem completely using the WP No Category Base – WPML compatible plugin. I guess it had something to do with the fact that in mid production process we changed the URL format of the content.
Here is the site, we just wen’t online and i want to congratulate tagDIV for the wonderful theme, great work guys.
Still have a couple of issues though, specially because i’m no expert on CSS at all.
1. The social icons in the theme don’t seem to be fully integrated with the destination social networks (eg: i’m able to post in facebook but no picture or title appear as it happens in the newspaper theme demo, just the website name link).
2. Trying to solve the issue above i made the mistake of activating jetpacks publicize whith inserted 3 extra social icons that i’m not being able to remove at this point even after deactivating publicize.
These are the main issues i’m having at this point, everything else seems to be running swell. Most apreciated if you can direct me to links that might help me solve these problems.
PS – as you see we did some homepage subtle CSS changes, nothing much.
thanks and all the best
