I use GIMP, It’s like photoshop but open source.
There are plugins to convert wo webp. As well as AVIF (the latest format I guess).
There is also cloudconvert.com that can covert from one image format to the other. I was using it to convert fornts from ttf to woff2. It can convert more than image formats.
Note I don’t work for Tagdiv. I just had the question you have, a while ago.
The usage is down: 42.56% of 5.00% CPU Limit (from originally 49%-53%, around that).
Yes I commented out the line 163.
I take that back….I noticed on the very top of the file /* and */
I think the critical error was because I was using <!– (code here) –>
When I used
/*
// register ‘css-live’ extension
require_once “css-live/css-live.php”;
*/
Then no critical errors. Apparently for HTML I use <!– (Code) –> and for PHP it is /* and */
I grew up doing HTML long time ago. Habit.
So
/*
// register ‘css-live’ extension
require_once “css-live/css-live.php”;
*/
ignore my previous comment about permissions to 000
I tried commenting out the line and it gave me a critical error
// register ‘css-live’ extension
require_once “css-live/css-live.php”;
I tried the second line, both lines, for commenting out and critical error
So blocking the save_css by putting their permissions to 000?
Then on the screenshot comment out that line with
<!-- and -->
Correct?
Back to the CPU usage. I removed Newspaper and the TD plugins. Changed it to 2024. Just to test. the CPU usage went down.
So it has to be something on the theme or/and plugins. I didn’t use anything on the site. Just customize the settings then let it go as I had to fix another site.
It’s like leaving your car on your garage and taking public transit for a few days. The engine on the car shouldn’t be hot.
if the file is there, it must be for a reason. I can’t just block access. What would be the point of having it then?
I still got issues after a fresh install of WordPress, Newspaper and the td-plugins

Hello,
Can you update us on any further progress you have made on the websites as we are still seeing a much higher CPU usage than the allowed limit for the account? The lack of updates and progress would lead to us suspending the account.
Best Regards,

Then I asked what file(s) were having the issue:
—————–
Hello,
Going off of our web statistics page
(the url stated here)/statistics/web-stats/
Using the “Webalizer” we see that the most hit page was this one.
/wp-json/tdw/save_css
Best Regards,

I censored the url
another reply from my host:
These are general details for optimization and security and a matter of development of the website which depends on you. You need to read carefully details what the trouble on that website was:
https://blog.sucuri.net/2023/10/balada-injector-targets-unpatched-tagdiv-plugin-newspaper-theme-wordpress-admins.html – and with huge amount of hits at: (insertmydomainhere dot com)/wp-json/tdw/save_css/
I did the following:
- Delete all files on the site
- Delete the mysql database
- Change my hosting account’s password
- Change the admin e-mail’s password
- Change the user e-mail’s password
- Created a brand new mysqal database with a completely different 25 character password
- Fresh download and install of Newspaper and the plugins, except the revslider or whatever it is called and the woo plugin as I don’t have a shop on it
I changed all passwords that I am missing to list there
None of the other plugins (non tagdiv plugins) are older than 6 months.
All my plugins,theme and WordPress are updated with 6 hours in average. Never more than 24 hours.
I did update to 12.6.5
Edit with TagDiv Composer > click on the element. On the left you will see the editable sidebar thing.
ALWAYS UPDATE.
Then do a malware scan.
Look at the plugins you are using as well.
I tried other demos and they show Homepage – (site name). They don’t do Homepage – (demo name) – (site name).
I tried to change the demo to Romania News and it said: Homepage – (site name).
Both demos (Fast News and Romania News), the steps you said above have not changed.
I saw gaps on the content, white spaces then I did select all and text appeared.
The text is white. the background is white.
I updated and things work the same.
Note that you should always test on a test site or local version before the live version. Just in case.
Also you shouldn’t delay updates, specially any security updates.
I don’t have a cache plugin. Anyways, I did the usual, deactivate all plugins, except tagdiv related plugins and Really Simple SSL. Activate one on one browser tab, on the second browser tag hit the edit with tagdiv composer and I could edit the content and it would show up instead of the constant loading circle thing. It was ithemes security. So I changed security plugins to wordfence. It works with wordfence so it wasn’t because security plugins but that specific plugin.
It’s fixed, so here is what I did. In order…
I uninstalled the demo.
I deactivated all plugins except Really Simple SSL and the tagdiv plugins.
I installed Magazine Pro.
So on that demo, the TRENDING NOW and the 5 post element was not showing properly when not being edited by the tagdiv composer.
I didn’t do any customization on the elements or anything that just install Magazine Pro.
On my first browser window I had the WordPress plugins page. On the next tab my website.
So I activated 3 plugins at at time, then swtiched to second tab and refreshed.
If something went wrong, I would know the 3 plugins, deactivate them and reactivate one at a time.
It got me thinking to clean up some plugins I wasn’t really using so I reduced it.
I am not using Akismet, Jetpack or Yoast SEO by the way. I am using Anitspam Bee, no replacement for Jetpack, and Slim SEO.
As I activate a plugin, I go to the second tab and refresh………It was Slim SEO that was causing the issue.
I deactivated it, deleted it. I tried Yoast SEO after this, activated it. Do the author archive thing from the link on your reply. I refresh the second tab window and voila. No problem.
So if the problem does not show up when the plugins are deactivated then when activate SLIM SEO it comes back, then when I re-deactivate Slim SEO it does not show. Yet when I change the SEO plugin to Yoast SEO and the problem does not show up. So it is Slim SEO.
Since I can’t edit my own posts….I found a solution: I had maintenance mode ON. I was using CMP – Coming Soon & Maintenance Plugin. I added a prebuilt website with the demo content then turned off maintenance, then went to activate the plugin again……..beautiful green REGISTERED is now showing.
I am having the exact issue right now. Can’t activate the theme.
You should not be doing updates on a live site. Have a testing site, do it there and if things go well then on the live site.
