We are already using version 8.1 and we uploaded via ftp.

Please Note i was not performing a theme update, this was a general failure in production, My sent went down and when i logged into the theme panel is when i realized the the theme had reset its configuration settings.

Ok got it, so i would like to achieve two things:
1.Change the default category the mobile theme uses from featured to something else say latest.
which file would i need to work on to change this?

2.incorporate Double clicks for publishers ad units.

Now i tested the theme with google adsense code and it worked perfectly mainly because its a one part ad tag code. But double clicks for publishers uses a two part code that is one set of code is placed in the header.php file of the theme and the other code in the ad slot. but when i try this with the mobile theme it does not work.

How can i accomplish this?

So after following your
advice, it still didnt work, please note i was setting up my website localy. i did however find the cause of the error, i had activated the child theme and thus when i tried installing the demo content it did not work until i switched back to the main theme.

im now good to go.

Hey Alin what would be the effects of my using w3 total cache plugin instead of the wp super cache, this is because i find the w3 total cache plugin to be a more robust plugin.

Also i noticed that my server harddisk i/o shot up after the upgrade to the new theme is this something i should be worried about?

i want to change this to POST https://new-url/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php how can i do this with the theme?

Ok so i put the code into my functions.php and it worked but the problem im now encountering is that their two thumbnail images, a big one and a small one. how can i remove one of the thumbnail images
