@Amit
Thank you very much. Just a little a question. If I want to include this in my child theme, I need to create a new folder with the (mobile) style.css inside?
@Amit could you be so kind as to upload the modified style.css somewhere else as dropbox has hit the daily view limit?
I had a look at your website and there seem to be a number of problems.
First off, it takes ages to resolve your hostname, 32 seconds!
The page size is 5,4 MB, e.g. just this GIF-image alone is 2,6 MB in size:
http://crowdink.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/smallgif.gif.
You could reduce number of articles/sections displayed on the front-page
Reducing the number of ads would also be helpful – people are not going to see the advertising if the website is so slow.
What I would do:
-check your server setup (maybe your dns is misconfigured) or use a better host
-use a caching plugin
-remove the ads (to see how much speed you gain)
-remove the gif image
-reduce the number of ads
Hi,
you were right. That seems to do the trick! Please mark as closed. Strangely enough I have never had anything like that in the past.
I have a funny issue with mobile website version of articles displayed on low resolution (less than FullHD) on desktop browser (mac with safari/chrome and firefox).
I don’t use a cache plugin, I use nginx / redis full-page cache.
The mobile plugin might be a good idea but it currently creates many issues. I understand that you can’t test every possible server setup and all plugins, I am a still a little bit disappointed by this new feature.
I can confirm that the language is translated now after following your solution!
Thank you very much for the support!
Unfortunately no luck.
I have disabled ALL but your plugins,
I cleared the server cache, restarted the server (nginx+ redis + hhvm)
Installed new chrome dev browser (Google Nexus 6P) to check and the following STRINGS appear in English language instead of GERMAN:
– ABOUT US
– FOLLOW US
– LATEST ARTICLES
Other language strings are okay, meaning the translation appears. When the mobile plugin is disabled, the above mentioned languages strings are okay.
On the other hand if it is only my specific problem and not a theme BUG I will try to solve it on my own.
Hi,
no problem. I have meanwhile opened a new thread which you might delete if you want.
When the mobile plugin is set up, you will have those widget/ section titles in English:
“About Us”, “Latest Articles” etc..
Sorry to hijack this thread but I also noticed that the language strings for the mobile theme are NOT editable. Could you point me there those stings are located so I can at least change them to my website language. It really looks odd to have English language on a non-English website.
