Hello,
We do not use Adsense. I’m using the custom ad system AdChanger. We went with that system because the ads are stored offsite and do not need to be stored on the server. Whats confusing is that eventhough these sites are direct clones of each other (even down to the file system), the ads work perfectly on one site and dont work on the other. That is what really boggles my mind, and I cannot find any logical reason for this change.
Yes I am currently in the process of fixing that. When I did the clone to my dev site, the 30+ GBs of images couldn’t come with the clone. Do you think this could have an effect on the ads? perhaps a featured image is causing the weird ads?
Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Disabling plugins on a live news website is simply not an option. Further, I did create a clone of the site and the ads worked perfectly without updating any theme files. That is why I’m confused. Why would the ads be messed up on one site, but on the clone site be fine?
Jordan
so I’ve added this:
$adcounter++;
if (is_category() && ($adcounter == 3)) {
echo do_shortcode('[td_block_ad_box spot_id="content_top"}');
}
but i don’t see a change.
I would like specific names for the ad boxes. Right now we have article content top, but I would like to call it something else. We have certain tiers of our ad clients, and I’d like the ad boxes to describe those tiers.
Article Content Top = Standard Leaderboard
Article Content Bottom = Key Leaderboard
Sidebar = Key Large
Custom 1 = Standard Sidebar
So when people are adding those ads into pages – they know what ads go where by reading the name in the widget drop down.
how do I create a block that only shows on mobile?
Great! Thanks!
okay … which blocks would work for me then?
SO if I do a google search for
“change visual composer “:before:” “:after:” border”
would that help me? Is there a name for the :before: :after: elements?
none of things made a difference. And they are turning up in that page too …
http://aws.ntv.ca/contests/fun-in-the-sun-contest/
it’s the :before: and :after:
Can I turn that off, for certain elements?
this is a copy of the Front page.
So … at the very bottom there’s a Programs & Features post grid, which shows 25 posts – showing 6 posts per screen … the last screen shows one … by itself … i thought selected the ‘loop’ options would randomize and repeat them if necessary.
Question: I have the ‘Loop Pages’ selected … but it doesn’t seem to be working ….
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByYKnygx9BswMmFwWHAxZ0FmdUE/view?usp=drivesdk
I have it set to show 6 at a time … and the 13th image is shown on it’s own.
I am removing one, for now, until this is fixed, but an idea what is causing this?
NOte: I’m manually added Featured images for the video posts so the client doesn’t see. But in the meantime I can’t do this for EVERy post.
I’m having the same trouble …
http://aws.ntv.ca/category/programs/specials/
^ with pages like this for example.
I’ve deactivated plugins and cleared cache.
no, i’m not going to enable the Front end editor if it interferes with the blocks.
So it’s the JS errors that are messing with the saving of the post grid?
thanks
but that is only suppose to affect sm screens … right?
I had to rebuild the page. I’m not sure what happened … the old (problematic) page is here: http://aws.ntv.ca/home-2-2/
oh … it only happens on the video posts … i’ll see if I can find a video post template file.
so you just add this to the allowed plugins list?
this isn’t working for me. I’ve tried everything.
ohhhh … i’ll try that.
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’); is already in my wp-config. and the php.ini file is done.
Maybe … i can force it to have at least three categories selected … and an alert will pop up with “Have you selected a region in the category list?”
