Again, I have a Cloud template, attractive articles at the top, then articles from the section like Fashion, Entertainment, etc. Just like on all your demo templates. However, within this same template, I need to limit the list of posts by entering a category or taxonomy value in the URL that expresses the issue number (202325, 20241, etc.) So it belongs to edition 2023/25, 2024/1 etc. That is, to imitate the way magazines and newspapers are published. And I don’t want to make a new template again for every release and set a filter in every element in it.

Oh, that’s pity. Never mind, I tried gallery as a part of Text with title element as you suggested and its suitable for me too. Just it is not responsive (number of columns) so I had to solve it by custom CSS.

If you meant to create a “Gallery” field in ACF, that is not possible, for that you need the paid version of ACF PRO.

OK, great, I was confused because of your label “ACF field (PRO only)” there…
But still can’t figure out how to process it. What type of ACF field I have to create and how to choose images to such list, to make in TD Composer Gallery element work? I tried find information or tutorial here in forum as well as in documentation but unsuccessfully.

I dont have this option in list available. That means I have to buy ACF Pro plugin first? There is no way how to use Gallery element in page just with TD Composer?

OK, I understand. So how could I reach such browsing through category with TD Composer? It is basic eshop-like feature to set for category if it is just parent category and you have to choose subcategory or it is final category which shows list of products/posts. I have prepared in Cloud Template category-template for listing of subcategories and category-template for list of products, but I need to know how to assign such template to appropriate category.

Whatever I choose, the category template page always shows everything – products and subcategories.

SOLUTION (for someone with the same problem): I use Newspaper Cloud Template for eshop with WooCommerce plugin. Finally I found plugin Product Attachment for WooCommerce in free version. Now I could for product attach PDF files for download. It appears in Product Tab element in TD editor. I needed to change a little bit design so I created child theme for Newspaper and modified CSS and functions.php. Works perfect.

I see, but it is not exactly what I am looking for. I did not express myself precisely. I need something like email creation process. You create email there is “add attachment” button, you can attach one or more general files. And at the end there is “see attachments” list bellow email. With filename, icons according to extension, filesize etc. Long time ago I used plugin “Easy attachment”, which did the same service in WordPress. There was field “add attachment” bellow post form. And if there was any attachment for post, “Download” list was shown bellow post for visitors.
I know it is possible to upload file to Media library and then insert into post link for it, but I prefer more user friendly way. And if I try insert “file” in Guttenberg editor, for PDF it is creating not link for download but live PDF preview too…

I upgraded from 11.4 to 11.4.1. The worst part was that even when I tried using a time machine to revert to 11.4, it didn’t help. It seems to me that the plugins (those would be the buggy) only updated to the latest version anyway. I had to restore the MySQL DB from a backup and overwrite the Newspaper directories and plugins from the backups.
Now I will better wait a long time with 11.3.2…

Hi, so finally there is one problem I can’t solve. I had duplicated Cloud templates for second, English, language version, modified them with English labels etc. and then assigned them to English categories and posts. It works fine.
But when I have in Cloud template TD block element, like Block 3 or Big Grid Flex 3, WPML override Newspaper Theme translation for labels, like Modified date. That means: for my primary, Czech, language, I had changed in Newspaper theme panel / Translations “Modified date” to “Posledni aktualizace” (Czech translation). In every TD element there was from this moment Czech translation. But once I activated WPML plugin, it overrides Newspaper settings and shows again English one “Modified date”… In WPML plugin Settings I have only Pages + Posts Translatable so it shouldn’t affect TD elements in Cloud templates at all, I guess. Is there a way how to translate texts in TD elements with active WPML? Or how to enforce using of Newspaper Translations?

OK, thank you. I have tried WPML and so far it seems its compatible with Newspaper and everything working.
BTW coincidentally there is similar question currently being asked in forum: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/error-after-update-5/ with conclusion WPML and Newspaper are not compatible. There may be a problem with the WPML version, because lowest one (29 USD) does not include page builders support. I bought CMS version for 79 USD.

Yes, this is correct. You should see also in meta_value very very huge field with code like “W3sidwdas….” For sure of course before deleting copy wp_postmeta table as backup.

I would like to append my experience. Yes, your TDC really generates HUGE wp_postmeta entries. I imported and customized some cloud templates – that means a lot of steps in TD Composer, and my wp_postmeta was above 200 MB! Main problem was that table was so big that it broke down whole WP, because in some operation with DB it exhausted 256 MB limit.
So this is really bad bug and I suggest you to repair it as soon as possible too. At least add Clear history button/option as well as add this feature to “Newspaper system status” – show size of TDC backup records with warning above some limit.
Finally I tried method Sandman mentioned and deleted ‘tdc_history‘ rows manually in phpMyAdmin. So far it looks problem is solved and WP works OK.

Well I think I finally figured out what is the problem. Problem is option Background (Theme background) in Newspaper Theme panel.
Since I use this option and upload image as Background image, whole content area shrinks and none of its element can be from margin of screen to another one, including stretched rows.
Once I delete Background image, Slide element in stretched row is full size.

So: how to combine full size row (with Slide element inside) with Theme background? Of course background image will be visible only under not full-size rows in such case.

Thank you. I tried suggested solution. Unfortunately I realized problem – when I put Slide element into Header zone, there is a huge lag in mobile view (both on real mobiles as well as mobile view on desktop browsers), so bad it basically not working at all…
When I drag Slide element into Content area, it is OK, showing Slide in desktop as well as mobile view. BUT I can’t force it to 100% stretch width there, respectively its is stretched only between Content area margins.
Is there a way how to have full-sized slider, from screen margin to screen margin, in content zone?

Not me, you are adding element to header, not to content 🙂 As I mentioned it is based on your Lifestyle Pro demo, where is slide element in header area. I guess it’s because there is no way how to create on content area element with full-size (margin to margin of screen).
So my question is, how to create slide element with fullsize as it is here on top:

OK, I see, a pity… Please consider in future upgrades whether it would be better to simply use the standard WP Category images…
BTW there is one small bug yet – if you choose let’s say 4 column/subcategories as is on your example, there will be 25 % width in style. But it isn‘t responsive, on mobile there are still 4x 25 % columns and it looks ugly, I have to change it for mobile version to 100 % with in custom style.

Thanks for answer! The solution you suggested on one hand works and background-image is shown on subcategories element. But on the other hand it simultaneously the same background image really set for whole subcategory page (e.g. New Look 2015) and overrides general background image of my web 🙁 Is there the way how to just have subcategories element with images but not as real background of subcategory page? I thought as well as you are taking title and description from WP category settings, it is possible use category image…

There is Lightbox option on Image Detail screen as well as there is General Mode image switch on Newspaper Post settings page. Right? I have actual version of WP and Newspaper and there is neither of these options.
1) That means, this part of documentation is no longer valid? You have canceled these features in current version of Newspaper theme?
2) Only way nowadays is to use Guttenberg editor, insert Image not into text block but only as separate block – and then turn on lightbox effect, as you wrote me?
3) Problem is I use WP Classic Editor, so Lightbox feature is for me no longer achievable? I have to switch to Guttenberg editor every time I need lightbox image in your theme?
