To add ads on all posts you can use Inline ads from Theme Customizer http://screencast.com/t/y1vM96N3 To create a spot ad go to Theme – Option.

For social sharing you can use some plugins if you want, there are a lot on WordPress

You can put an ad using the visual composer adding a text with you ad code or using the theme ad system, create an ad from Theme – Option -> Ads, then add in your homepage an Ad box

You don;t need to crop the images manual, the WordPress do this automatic. Just upload a large photo on the post as featured image and WordPress will crop all the require thumbnails from that photo.

You can use a plugin like Page Links To plugin, this allow you to put an external link on a post, and when you click on the thumbnail of that post will got o the link defined by you.
