I’m working on style CSS. Can i delete woocommerce and bbpress but also td forum? td topic etc? It’s unclear which parts am I actually using and which not.
Hi Lucian! Thanks for the advice! What is unclear to me is that color part. I mean, that color selection on the theme panel affects the CSS and make it heavier? Are you saying that?
The issue for me is to reduce the CSS and the code on the page in order to have a better results text/html ratio.
Can you take note about those issue for the next version of the theme? I love it, but would be great to offer a lighter version for more basics sites, or automated option to disable things that we don’t need.
Please let me know, i would love to go on with the theme, and recovering on search enginees as well.
Hi Emil, when i load source of my site, i see a lot of codes coming from newspaper theme that actually i don’t use, and that are heaving codes on every page: view-source:http://www.rnbjunk.com/

Woocommerce, Buddypress, are some example and stuff like that. I cannot disable them from the theme panel, i need to know how can i customize the theme so use only the things that are really important for my site, without codes of stuff that are not working on it.
Do you have a guideline to have a lighter version of the theme, in order to load only the essentials?
Fabian
Code To Text Ratio
EXPLAIN THIS
Your page size (source code) is 97.55 Kb and your content text size is 8.69 Kb. Your content text represents 8.91% from your webpage source code. This is a low ratio and you might need to add more content!
HOW TO FIX
In order to pass this test you must increse your text to HTML code ratio. Here are some tehniques:
move all inline styling rules into a external CSS file
move your JavaScript code into a external JS file
use CSS layout instead of HTML tables
Now i’ve rised up a bit, but still very low compared to competitors.

even in post, with lot of text, we have the issue, cause the theme loads a lot of codes, if, and options.
The Theme does load a lot of stuff, so that the text html ratio is very slow. Is there anyone that can help me?

Hi Chris! Thank you for all your suggestion, the server seems to be better now, unfortunately we have issue on speed of the site again:
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rnbjunk.com%2F
http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150129_7M_MXV/
http://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.rnbjunk.com/XdWKMwAw
We have activated TagDiv Speed, Speed Booster Pack, W3 Total Cache (Page CDN Browser CLOUDFLARE).
Hi Chris,
we are experiencing troubles. The site goes on timeout often, we really don’t know if it’s some apache settings, server limitated resource, or a theme problem. Do you know someone who can help us with the server and apache settings to work perfectly?
I contacted my host, the site works for 2 days, but then it goes on timeout again, with some user that can access, and other that cannot access to the site.
Serious issues 🙁

We made the checks on our server side, Imag Magick is setted, also GD library, still having issues with thumbs, especially on the big slider

Yes for me it’s ok now 🙂 Thanks a lot
Hi! We launched our new version of the site based on Newspaper theme.
We are still having issue with the speed, especially on mobile layout.
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rnbjunk.com%2F
We are using W3 as suggested, only Page Cache and Browser Cache activated. MaxCDN, Cloudflare, and Speed Booster TagDiv, with Speed Booster Pack.
Could someone give us assistance?
Thank you
here is an expample:
http://www.rnbjunk.com/canzoni/
Ricky Martin is the latest post, it shows normally on category
Under the slider, it’s not showing any new ricky martin news
Same issue here! We launched the new version of the site just today, new post are not showing in homepage after the slider, even if we selected “latest”!
W3 cache settings are like you suggested. Please help us ASAP! Thank u
Okey, this is for the AD Box, but i need to change also the ads on header, with a dobuleclick ads code…
Where exactly could I modify the code in the theme?
Hello Christopher
we are developing our site on newspaper. I Have a question on this issue.
Our archive has neve used Featured Images, no we set them all, on the theme panel i activate “show feat images” on the post, the result is that we have old post with 2 images.
We would like for the new ones to set only the feat image, and show that in the post, but we don’t know how to do to cancel double images on ancient post.
Please let me know if you have a solution.
What if we have a lot of images? It’s really really slow, is there any alternative?
Hi, we are tryin to migrate to the new theme, but we have a lot of images on 30k posts and 200-300k thumbs and the plugin suggested takes too much time.
Is there any other solution?
Most likely, “Block6” element which you are using is custom coded by the theme author and is not a part of our standalone plugin. You can check our standard elements here: http://demo.wpbakery.com/vc/wp-admin/
If you need any help with our standard elements, you can let us know. But, since we are not aware of the code that is being used in the custom element like “Block6”, I would advise you to get in touch with the theme author as they are coded by him. Let us know if you have any more questions.
Hey Lucian
maybe we don’t understand each other. We know how to make appear custom taxo on the wp-admin, but we don’t know how to interact with them on the tagdiv blocks. We would like to create blocks for a specific post type or specific taxo, but in the “filters” option only categories and tags are available.
okey, now I have the custom post types in the theme, also the taxonomies. What about filters in blocks? For example, i want a block to show only post from a custom taxonomy (we use them for artist), but i can choose only by category or tags.
