I’m having the same problem. Currently I’m using wp 4.6.6 y theme 7.4. While I’m going to update both to the last version I want to solve this problem first.
All of a sudden all sidebars disappeared. I rebuilt them and it was ok for a short time. A few days latter it happened again plus the backup plugin was unable to work as the path has been mysteriously changed.
After this episode not only the sidebars disappear but all customization as well. The problem I have now is that while I can change the theme settings and they seem to be applied as soon as I refresh the page they are gone.
Any idea please?

I have the same problem. It’s insane to generate thumbnails for all images while only featured ones uses them.
I have almost 3000 post published so far and several have also 2 o 3 images in the content. So I have more than 30000 images in the server!!!!
I was wondering if you have come out with a solution. Some kind of hack that can point me in the right direction.

Some posts did not have a featured image when created, I added them later as I had 3000 post to add to wp.
Can it be the problem? Because if this is the problem I’rather finish adding the images before running the regenerate plugin.

I’ve partially solved the problems. The plugin that what causing the strange behavior with WP Super cache so I removed it. But I still have the css problem with the aweber form that was working OK. Now on The home page and 2 more categories the CSS works fine, the others no. It seem to be some kind of cache problem.

Now about the images that were scaled instead of load as thumbnails I’ll copy some examples from the gtmetrix report:

1. Vos usas 700×357 para la imagen, pero el modulo big slider que carga en la home usa si no me equivoco 745×483. De hecho yo trato de usar ese tamaño. ¿Estoy equivocada? Si estoy equivocada es mejor que las achique ahora pues lo que decis de ahorra tiempo de render es importante.

2. El Regenerate Plugin trabaja en blockes de 100? ¿Por carpetas?

La verdad son tantos detalles que ya estoy tentada de contratar a alguien que esté familiarizado con esto, no por la parte de las imagenes pero si para la optimizacion y toda esa historia; asi que si tienes algun candidato en mente de confianza y técnicamente seolido….

En realidad tengo unas 2500 imagenes y los thumnails estan disponibles pero aparentemente no los carga. El blog siempre tuvo esta plantilla desde el comienzo, aunque tiene 14 años, antes era un website estatico y me he pasado muchísimo tiempo pasando cada nota en un localhost.

¿Entonces tengo que borrar primero las miniaturas o se encarga ese plugin de todo el trabajo?

Ayer instalee WP Super cache y todo parecía bien pero ahora me esta desarmando todo el blog, un desastre, asi que lo primero va a ser ver de desactivarlo.

I’ve just download Regenerate Plugin and it says It is not tested with my version of WP (4.0) so should I considered another plugin?

In some way all the stories are new because I moved (coping and pasting!) an old static site to wp with this theme, so i imagine something went wrong at some point.

I can not turn off contact form because I use it although I would consider replacing it. Any suggestion?

I could not manage to fix the bad favicon link so far, now i will attack the aweber tracking pixel 🙂

I have optimized all the image before uploading them but now I realized I could do a better work so I’m trying to do it all again.

I have 3000 posts (in 8 categories) and 3 placements (inline ads) so copy and paste the shortcode is not an option for me!!! The post injection works really nice.

I think that your idea of creating a custom page type is a winner.

And concerning the responsive ads I was worried about the Adsense ads as the others are not a problem because as you said it’s a matter of uploading the different sizes.

I have been following you thread and decided to test AdRotate locally and It seems to work pretty well. What i really like is the possibility to place the ads inline just telling to place it before or after x paragraphs in a particular category. And it is very easy to align it (left, center, right or block). No short codes needed!!!

Now I have some concerns: are this ads responsive? And what if i want a post with No ads at all?

Hi: I had the same problem and as the ads were placed in the sidebar i came up with a simple solution: make another sidebar bar without the ads. When in the article you don’t want ads to show just change the sidebar. Hope it helps.

Well yes Christopher you can create different sidesbars for different categories but on the Theme panel you can create only 3 custom ads. So you could not use the Ad box in the sidebar although you could use a text box and copy the different codes. The downside is I don’t think Google would made then responsive by default.

And although you are right about Google serving the ads dynamically its always better segment the different channels for advertisers to target.

As you can see the results of the search are very confuses.
1.No need to include image as they are so small that they don’t have positive impact.
2. The title of the articles found should be aligned to the left to increase readability and last but not least
3. The lens icon should be position to the right. That is to say above the last column.

In the image provided you can also see that the little triangles at the right of each category are not anymore as i told you in my last email

The first step is clear. Changing the span class into span12 has corrected the problem with the last menu being pushed dowm.

The second step is not clear at all. I’ m not familiar with WP so I don’t know where to find the code to be replaced. It would be also great if you could include a copy of the final code so i have not to write it by hand (this is not an issue of being lazy but of not making mistakes).

I have the same problem. When I click over the author name it redirects to the home page.
The problem seems to be the plugin SEO by Yoast since when desactivated the author page works properly.
I’m still in localhost so I can not send you an example for you to check.
