Disable the sizes not used — in the theme panel, per the theme docs ?

Use basic HTML. Lots of tutorials online if new to how HTML works.

Basically you need to put an ‘anchor link’ on the graphic link so that when clicked it goes some place.

e.g.,

Best to do via FTP —
also make sure you are installing the main theme zip and not the all files zip.

You will need to use separate ad management platform for stuff like that.

I use the simple AdRotate plugin, but there are many.

Sadly, the built-in import/export function in WordPress needs improvement. The complex way to do it is with DUPLICATOR, but I don’t think you can run that on WordPress.com. Likely good to put in a support ticket at WordPress.com forum on how to do this ?

probably need to be way more specific?
a) check system status to see if timeout issue or not enough memory
b) what are you trying to do exactly — what do you expect, what actually happens?
c) did you check your plugins to see if a conflict, such as jetpack?
d) did you adjust any caching or CDN setting while building pages, like turning that off to see if the issue?

You can still use visual composer; TD Composer is a new “just out of beta” alternative which is more compact, more secure, uses much less system resources, and won’t crash servers like VC does. Works great for us, in Chrome, but since it’s ajax based it does take a little finesse to use, just like VC has learning curve.

For a brand new product built specifically for these themes, it’s pretty amazing stuff.

Most often it’s

a) permissions issue due to how WP was installed (owned by apache, etc)
b) timeout issue while server trying to install
c) running out of memory, due to too little memory for WP (really should increase default from 40M to 64M or higher)
d) security setting on server for php
e) uploading corrupt file
f) timeout of your ISP connection to server

FTP is best way to install anything with WP.

Facebook is having a capture issue this week, as of Monday, as they seem to be moving some things around, possibly for a July 1 rollout, end of Q2/17 backups, etc.

Nothing to do with your site, content, theme — if you have the opengraph data and your site isn’t timing on fetch — nothing you can really do about it.

We have been manually sharing, then hitting the ‘refresh attachment’ on FB, up to 3 (!) times to capture some sites. Then next one works perfectly. 5 days running so far this week. !

Not a theme topic.
This is a WordPress programming topic, to pull content across sub domains. Usually this is done with multi-site, where the sub domain and main site share the same dbase. More complex to pull across two sep dbases.

Basically you’d need to create a function/plugin to query the other database to pull in the items to your other dbase.

Or, you’d need to setup a custom widget that shows the RSS feed from the other topics (this is how I do it, actually, on one site). So, using an RSS feed widget with simplepie, I can get the headlines from the other sub-site, drop them in to a (in my case) sidebar widget area, but the links still go to the sub-domain.

Way outside of the theme support, probably, but maybe somebody else has an idea.

Disable the ajax view counter option from theme panel.

Facebook is having an issue all week as of Monday capturing content, excerpts, images.

Not related to theme in any way.

If your open graph meta data is in your post header (do view source), that is all you can do. Theme cannot control what FB does/does not do when you click ‘share.’

Actually … not really; post I shared 3 hours ago loaded empty picture, and empty thumb at bottom; but got rest of data; so in my case I just manually added photo. Annoying!

This does usually ‘clear up’ after few days, but going on 3 days now. Maybe they are rolling out some kind of change for July 1. Like they just killed my old advertiser account, and made new one for me — “congratulations on posting your first ad…” after several years of ads? So, they are messing with stuff all over the place!

Hang in there ! I guess with 2 billion monthly users (!!!) they need to do stuff on a scale we mere mortals cannot imagine.

Wait for FB to get their act together. Nothing you can do about it. We’ve been suffering with this across 10 news portals since Monday. Happens every few months, and usually starts when they are messing with some element related to image capture and their CDNs. It’s working a little better today, but yesterday everything just captured a box with site name in it and no image, text, etc.

Again “theme” has nothing to do with FB capture — if your meta data *is* there, and your content is there, that is what FB uses. Period. So, if you can see it, FB can see it unless you block them via firewall for some reason (we did that once).

Put another way — FB reads the opengraph data; tries to read that data in your meta data into their system, and capture the image linked to from your web domain (outside the theme, in your image folder). Theme has nothing whatsoever to do with your image loading from your image folder, nor anything to do with FB being able to read the open graph meta data on your page.

Anyway — we have been suffering this on and off since FB launched. So, it’s nothing new.

Hope that helped. (Probably not.) It usually clears up in couple of days.

Try using either text boxes widgets and put your HTML for ads there; or use the custom ad option (see theme docs for ad system), and put your custom HTML there. Or, use an ad manager plugin and insert the shortcode in theme template(s) where you wish ads to appear.

Theme has nothing to do with this.

FB reads the “meta” data injected into your post headers using Yoast SEO plugin (not made by TagDiv) or any other plugin; and then ‘captures’ the info for post on FB, including image from your site.

a) check your post page source to ‘see’ what is actually there and adjust Yoast SEO settings; see the plugin support forum (not here) for help on learning to use Yoast SEO if new to you

b) check your post with FB debug tool also to ensure your meta data formatted properly

c) note that FB has been having image capture issues this week, unrelated to anything else — this happens from time to time when they are either overloaded or doing some kind of system reindex/change/update. Nothing you can do about it except possibly use the “refresh share attachment” option when you post manually to FB.

(( You don’t have to stop using Visual Composer if you like that; but to migrate to using TD Composer in place of VC, you do need to redo some pages as it’s NOT a 1:1 replacement ))

Often it’s an issue with how you built the page, or a conflicting plugin.

Check your post you’re unable to print by testing F12 in chrome for errors. Make sure you are not running any kind of plugin which does an “overlay” on the page for tracking, or similar. No bug in theme for printing normally, unless you’d added something to interfere with that.

You may need to try disabling any oddball ad networks, any plugins for compliance or copyright, etc., to see which one is causing problem after checking F12/chrome for errors in the page render.
