I have same problem, On the home page show the feature on firefox, IE and Opera but not only on Google Chrome.
On IOS not show in Chrome and Safari but on Firefox is ok.

I update all.
I have Newsmag 4.7 and WordPress 5.0.1

But background and feature is still not display well. It flash and gone.

Good news now I did a clean update both theme and plugins and I could activate js_composer without 500 code of error.

But now my website is no images show but only text be displayed, please see http://www.lokbaimai.com .

Thanks, that is one solution but I have more than 1200 contents which I might not put any text to the excerpt box.
Do you have any idea to let WP auto count the word.
