Thanks a bunch for your prompt reply.

Ok referring to the same numbers above again:

1) Ok I understand its pro-services then for this piece. If I pay for something, can you also make it available in all future releases for everyone? I dont just want to buy a one-off custom fix that I will have to support forever on my own or with pro services through future product updates. I know this is a simple feature that will benefit everyone.

2) Regarding this https://prnt.sc/gjfNEMD7RE7I Can you please see if the same thing happens to you when you install the full Crypto Pro Template Demo with all example data? Im just trying to get the Posts Loop on the Home Page to work properly in the way I described. I agree it doesnt make sense why the excluded posts that I specified from one category, that I dont want to show up on the Posts Loop element, are still showing up only when logged out. I do need to use the Numbered Page Pagination…so I think the easiest solution is to figure out if theres a bug or something, and just get the Posts Loop Element working, since that Element already has what I need and I just need it to function properly. The Flex Block 1 works perfectly fine when excluding individual posts, so you would think that if this issue was with another plugin conflict on my site or something, that even the Flex Block 1 Elements woukd be having the same difficulty hiding specific posts with no category filter enabled, and it works perfect. The fact that this Posts Loop Element looks fine in admin mode/logged-in and then completely ignored the hidden posts properties when logged-out is very strange. I checked for plugin issues and CSS conflicts but Im not seeing anything.

3) How would you go about adding/creating a new block with new features? Are you referring to pro services here for this as well?

4) Are there any other blocks that you know of, where I can style them exactly the same as the Posts Loop, but still exclude categories? What other Elements could I try? There’s so many elements that I havent looked through every single one yet. Again Im just trying to stylize another Element to look the same as Posts Loop, with Numbered Pagination, and I can filter categories or posts from it. Pretty simple I hope.

5) Aside from pro services, and with the understanding that you folks can only provide support here, how does tagDiv go about taking feature requests in-general? I feel like every user of Newspaper Theme would want to be able to have the ability to use Numbered Pagination on a block of posts while being able to filter posts and categories. Im not sure sure how much pro services costs for this but if its not a lot of extra money then sure I maybe I’ll considee funding it. From a coding perspective, everything already exists and is written, I just need a Posts Loop Element with category filters, OR I need a Flex Block 1 Element with Pagination, and if that means just merging the functions of both into a new Block then that sounds possible and not that difficult to do in the future. Flex Block 1 already supports pagination, just not Numeric Pagination, so I just dont understand why its a difficult think to add the extra form of Pagination to Flex Block 1. Once again though, if there’s any other alternatives, Im happy to try it. Im just very curious how tagDiv handles feature requests. It sounds like there arent feature requests and just pro-services for anything that doesnt currently exist in terms of functionality? I just want to make sure I understand the full picture.

Thanks in advance one more for your time and help. 🙂

Ironically, I have the same question today, and I found this post while searching the forums for an answer.

In addition to the questions above, can you tell me if is possible to just hide the sign-in/login/register options completely from the hamburger menu in mobile mode? I’m using a third-party membership plugin and I dont want to show the users this sign-up or login prompt from the mobile menu. Note: I answered this part of my question here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-remove-sign-in-from-the-top-of-the-mobile-menu/

I’d also like to know how do I edit the mobile-menu for the social media icons that show-up within the mobile hamburger menu on the Crypto Pro Template, please? I cant click them and edit them from the TagDiv Composer, and all the links to Twitter/Facebook/etc are still just “#”. EDIT: I found this part in the forums, so this piece of my question is solved: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-can-i-edit-these-icons-on-mobile/

Unfortunately, after I tried both of the solutions that I noted here (in the links above), neither of these changes got rid of the mobile sign-up/login option, nor did my social media icons/links change. I have the Crypto Pro Template Demo installed. Help with this would be appreciate. Thanks!

FINAL EDIT: Okay, I figured out both my issues. The links above DO work, however, in order for me to TURN-OFF the sign-in from the HEADER section, I had to repeatedly hit save…like over and over without refreshing to make it “stick”. What i realized was I was turning off the Header => Sign-in/Join and clicking “Save”….if I refreshed my page, the setting was set back to “ON” again… Drove me crazy. I finally decided to just keep clicking “SAVE”, SAVE, SAVE, SAVE and then finally refreshed and the setting remained off. I’m on a very vanilla installation of WordPress 6.3.1 and on a good web host with PHP 8+ installed, I dont think its my site or server or caching causing this issue. I can even repeat this issue by trying to toggle this setting ON *or* OFF, and if I only click save once…the setting never sticks.

Regarding the social media icons, same issue…just need to hit the SAVE button like 10 times in a row before refreshing or leaving the page.

Not sure if this is only an issue on my side…but maybe this will help someone else in the future who finds my post here.

If screencast.com or prnt.sc goes out of business, your forums and a lot of great knowledge are basically useless. tagDiv, why dont you at least let your staff upload directly within your forums? I get its cost savings and whatnot, but man its going to be a bad day if/when either of those other sites that you keep uploading screenshots and videos to ends up going down for any reason…

Yeah I agree, took me forever to find this setting lol….glad others posted here in the forum though. Thanks!

Happy to provide my plugin for futher testing on your end. WP Mail SMTP is great, but its very expensive in comparison to YaySMTP. Thanks for your feedback.

Looks like I cannot delete/edit my prior comments in the forums here. Not sure how it sounds like I had two different errors though. I had one problem. I clicked the “activate” button, and nothing happened, no matter what I tried.

I did however, get a direct email reply from your support team, not sure if it was you or someone else who replied. They mentioned the following, which ended up being very helpful for me figuring out the root-cause of my issue, so I’m posting it here to hopefully help others in the future: Check with the browser inspector in the console, there is an error like so for example – https://prnt.sc/mbuXJ2imLhBy Is this perhaps happening in your case as well? Or are there other errors in the console perhaps?

In my case, the problematic plugin for me was an SMTP email plugin that allowed me to force WordPress to use AWS SES to send all of my emails, and for some reason, the Newsletter Theme would not let me activate the product because the SMTP plugin kept trying to do something with the email address field in the Newsletter Theme Activation Form. I disabled/uninstalled my SMTP wordpress plugin, then activated the Newsletter Theme, and then I re-enabled my SMTP email plugin, because I need that in order to get WordPress to send-out reliable emails to my customers…. Im really hoping that the YaySMTP plugin doesnt break other functionality within your Newsletter Them in the future… I’ve asked your support people if I could please send you the YaySMTP plugin so that you can fix your Theme so that it no longer conflicts with the YaySMTP plugin….I feel like other basic SMTP plugins would do the same thing with your Theme.

In order to help others save a LOT of time in the future, can you please post the following on your license activation help article on your website? Had I discovered the earlier comments that I received from your support team, on your Newsletter Theme license activation “how-to” page, it would have saved me considerable time and headache this weekend with identifying the problem-plugin: Check with the browser inspector in the console, and look to see if there an error, for example – https://prnt.sc/mbuXJ2imLhBy – Is this perhaps happening in your case as well? Or are there other errors in the console perhaps? If you are seeing errors, it may well easily identify a plugin problem going on with your website

Last thing I’d like to ask, can you please advise me on how to manually activate the product should I ever need to? I can see in your code after doing lots of searching, that there at least used to be a manual activation method….but the URL that pointed to manual activation from my website is no longer accessible on your end:

  • Go to our manual activation page
  • If your company recently removed the ability for us to manually activate the product, then I beg you to please bring that functionality back…my example should be enough of a good use-case for you offering this feature.

Thank you for your time and help.

Yeah i feel your pain. They should have at least a tier 1 “site down” critical support ticketing/alerting system where a customer can still get through to someone for support even if its a weekend. At the very least, if multiple customers like us all open a tier 1 ticket for the same reason, that should raise a red flag. Ive worked in IT for 2 decades and it must be nice to never have anyone on call or work a weekend lol. I personally dont want a refund, I just desperately need the product to work. I was intending on building my website all weekend and now I literally cant do anything except write the pages and blog posts in a text editor, and since I have a day job, I cant work on building my site until next weekend again…assuming they can fix the activation issue this week, without wp-admin access to my site, because I cant allow backdoor access to my site due to security concerns. Looks like they released this build of their Newspaper Theme on August 10th…which means activation has been broken since the 10th IF its a client-side issue…however it could be a service or API/connectivity failure on their own primary server that manages the activations, and who knows precisely when that issue may have started if thats the case. I saw another person mentioning activation issues in this forum on Aug 14th or 15th. Today is August 19th and apparently it wont be fixed until at least August 21st because they wont be back to work until Monday… and thats assuming they can fix it on Monday. I really need/want this software to work. I shut down and moved my site off another platform and this is lousy timing for me to start building a new wordpress site with this theme since I cant build right now. I think this theme will be fantastic though, so I have to suck it up and wait now.

And what did you do to fix it?

    the-website-builder
    tagDiv Member

Same issue here. They seem to be slow to react and fix their issue. Others have posted in this same forum about the same problem, and their technical support people want wp-admin access to your website so they can presumably manually activate the product… I cant/wont give wp-admin access for security reasons. I too have wasted a lot of time trying to activate. About to leave a negative review because they’ve known about this issue for at least a week now I believe, and no fix and they still sell the product without updating their product page to notify the customers that there is an activation issue and you’ll have to contact support between Monday thru Friday in whatever timezone they use…which would be nice to know before you buy. It certainly shouldnt take more than a week to fix their activation issue or develop a new method…should be a high-priority task to make the most essential of installation features work properly for new customers…

    the-website-builder
    tagDiv Member

Same issue here… I cant activate the theme…. I’m not giving back-end access to my website due to security concerns… Whats the bug or script error? Provide a login API to your website through the Theme, so that way I can register directly on your website and activate my theme through your website’s activation API… Not sure if this is a themeforest issue not sync’ing the activation keys on your side, or what… I’ve wasted a lot of time now trying to activate the theme which should be the simplest of processes… Tried turning off cache for the site and server and did everything else I can think of. Tried disabling ALL plugins and themes on my site and still no good… Meanwhile I successfully activated 5 other purchased plugins afterwards. Can you please post whatever fixes you are applying when you login to people’s wordpress sites? For security reasons, I cannot give wp-admin access. Thanks in advance
