Perfect. That gives me exactly what I want

Thanks

Thanks for your fast response.

I understand your solution, but it doesn’t work for me. The reason is that I have some CSS which removes the star rating from the top of the post …

.post .entry-review-stars {
display:none;
}

This seems to remove the date as well, not just the stars. If I remove this from the custom CSS panel, both stars and date are shown.

Is there any way I can have a date at the top of a review post, but no stars?

It’s OK. I’ve found it!

Thank you. I’m new to all this, so could you please tell me where I can find this file?

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

I didn’t realise you could add blocks in this way to a sidebar. Obvious, really now you’ve pointed it out!

Thanks again

OK – I’ve looked into this and realised I have misunderstood what this function does. It is not designed for what I’m trying to achieve.

What I’m trying to do is have ‘latest posts’ widget appear on the sidebar of a specific page but to show only the latest posts from a certain category – so effectively filtering the content in the ‘latest posts’ widget by a certain category (or tag). Does anyone know if this is possible?

Do you have any documentation on this? It certainly is not working for me, so I’m wondering if it’s something I’m doing wrong.

Thanks for clarifying. I’ll stick to the image with links approach.

Thanks Radu for your quick response. I will do that.

Will the images and links option have any negative affect on my site with regard to performance or SEO (i.e. is this against best practice, or is it OK to work in this way)?

Gavin
