I think that 9.5 has broken Composer across the board. My site is based on one of the templates, and I had been picking and choosing post and category pages to customize to my site, but I can’t after 9.5. I hope that this is repaired soon. No Bueno.
It ruined my access to Cloud templates. Fatal errors as far as the eye can see. Any patches on the horizon? Happy to say that the site itself is okay.
Thanks for the information! I realize that this isn’t an inherent part of the theme, so I don’t mind doing a little work to get what I want. I have to admit that this is the best Newspaper theme!
Thanks so much. I had done that, believe it or not, which is why I was confused. This time it worked. Go figure.
Thank you!
When it comes to CSS, I’m very tentative. I copied the code exactly as written, and it does a great job of putting the padding exactly the way I wanted. If I want to change the border from solid black to a hex color, however, I’m a little more cautious. How would I do that? If I can get that locked, I’m about 90% there! Thanks for your great support, by the way!
Is there a way to put the grid outside of the container? That seems to be the roadblock for me. Instead of going across the entire page like I see in some of the demos, it’s stuck in the container.
I found black bars in my posts, and when I disabled Jetpack, they went away. Just a suggestion.
I found the problem! It wasn’t Flex Block (whew!), but it was a problem with JetPack. I’ve used JetPack off and on over the years and inevitably, it clashes with something. Because I love the new look of my site, I had no problems letting JetPack go.
Thanks for the info. I have to disagree with you regarding the value of child themes, though. They are great for small, interim updates, but obviously are a challenge for major ones like 8.5. I’ll be working on this during the coming weekend. Fortunately, I wrote everything down on my customization so (at least in theory) after a couple of hours’ work, everything should be just peachy. Or not. 🙂
Okay, I found part of the problem. The code you gave me works fine on hover, but what I’d like to have is to be able to change the color of the links in the content section before hover. I realized that I wasn’t very clear. Sorry! I hope I’m clearer this time!

Hi Bogdan,
That doesn’t work, and I can’t figure out why. However, I do get a small exclamation point inside of a yellow triangle, if that helps.
thanks so much! I only needed it for that one template since that’s the one I’ll be using from now on whenever I have a great featured image to display. This is perfect.
D’oh! It worked! Thanks!
Thanks Alin. I’ll check them out tonight and report back whether it’s solved.
Bump
Adding in the code also (for whatever reason) expanded the space between each section of the grid. It’s now about 10px all the way around. Is there any way to correct that?
Works! Thanks!
http://www.vegaswineaux.com. I thought that would help. 🙂
Thanks so much! It’s working!
