Thanks. Worked for me.

Hi, I was having the same issue. I replaced the Composor Plugin as per your message but it says the plugin is not compatible with my version of the theme. I am using 12.7.3.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I think I figured it out. It might not be the most elegant or simple solution but it works.

Hi,

I’ve cleared all caches multiple times and nothing seems to work.

The problem only exists with the Social Counter. Everything else has been updated to the new X/Twitter icon properly.

Is there somewhere I can find/see the “X” icon to see what is there?

Regards

Mark

Hi,

I do not use the shortcode. I added the “Social Counter” as an element (Social Counter) – https://prnt.sc/o78BhLgCSrU9

I also use the “Social Counter” in one of my widget areas, which does not show the correct “X” logo.

I use “Social Icons” in my header & footer, and both display correctly.

The issue appears to be only with the “Social Counter”.

Hi, still having the problem after following your directions 🙁

Hi Bettina

I did update everything (including plugins) to 12.6. I’ve cleared the caches and it still shows the old Twitter logo. https://prnt.sc/PEbl4tfTwRpU

I even tried re-adding the element to the single cloud template but it still shows the wrong logo.

Sorry, I figured out how to do this on the 404 page. Please disregard (I can’t seem to find a way to delete the ticket).

Hi, I figured out a work around. I uploaded a background image in the theme panel and it no longer shows the strange shadow boxes.

yvrmark

Hi, no shadow on the header row 🙁

Hi, thanks for the reply. The background colour for both row and zone on header and footer is set to white (#ffffff). Nothing I do seems to get rid of these pesky boxes…

Thanks. The issue in the header and footer can be seen in these screenshots. Both have these weird shaded boxes on both sides. I tried stretching the row as you suggest but it doesn’t eliminate these boxes.

I am having the same issue on two different websites. It says there is an update but when I click on the “update” tab it is blank. I deactivated everything except the tagDiv plugins but still not working.

Newspaper > System Status

The Registration Key is the first entry under “Theme config”. Click on the “Reset key” button.

Once you’ve done that you need to re-enter your purchase code. Can’t remember where that actually shows up but you should be able to find it by going to the Newspaper menu.

Glad it worked out for you. I understand that this “fix” isn’t working for everyone 🙁

Happened to me. Appears to be associated with the WordPress update today. I had to reset the registration key (under system status) and then re-enter my purchase code. Everything is now back to normal. I understand though this has not worked for everyone.

Strange thing is I have a second website running the theme. After updating to the latest version of WordPress it did not give me the same error.

I went in and reset the Registration Key and then had to put in my registration code again to reactivate.

Happened to me as well. I went in and reset the Registration Key and then had to put in my registration code again to reactivate. Cleared the cache and everything is back. But yes, it was a big pain!

Yes, I agree. I did the same and still have the same issue.

Hello, it is a real pain to be told every time to “look for a plugin conflict”. There were zero changes made to our site before the update and the problem started. Multiple other people are reporting the same problem. It seems unreasonable that with an update any existing plugins would suddenly cause a conflict.

@ThomasJoJo
– what do you mean “adding a space after the menu?”

I thought it was because I have two purchased installations of Newspaper theme and Envato was just catching up on both but I too would like to know if there is another update. I successfully updated to 9.7 (despite reading about all the problems) but it would be nice to know how if there is a new update…

Hi, just wanted to close this one out. I’ve done away with AMPforWP and gone with the native solution in the Newspaper theme. It took a little tweaking but so far it is looking good.
