After some weeks with this version I have to say that we lost about more than 20% from our traffic and increase considerable positions in Alexa (I seem to have seen another comment talking about this).
Last week we make a downgrade to 7.2 and seems that things become normal.
*- never use more than 3 plugins (Yoast, VC & speed-booster)
– 0,4 sec. our load time, 99 Insights punctuation (PC & mobile)
So I’m not talking about small .css problems!!!

After you update your theme, please make sure you clear all caches and reset cdn files if you use it. Sometimes the cache loads the old files until it gets cleared and cause unexpected issues. Also newspaper 7.3 requires the new version of visual composer (4.12) so please also update your plugin by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

None of your advice agrees with me.
I’m not use CDN and for updates i’m pretty careful (I use WordPress since 2007).
I want to tell you that when I have done the downgrade to 7.2 the traffic returned instantly to normal.
I do not know how many users measure and verify (advanced) their traffic, but I will definitely mean that the version 7.3 is not altogether OK.

Please keep in mind that until now we do not have any bad reports in this regard. We will make some investigation and we will check the theme in this case and if we will found some irregularities in this regard we will consider to fix them in next updates.

We recently discovered a flaw in wp super cache and the new version of wordpress. Maybe this could be a reason for the drop as we have found nothing theme related that can affect the traffic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-does-not-work-properly/

@anupviews, yes I use WordPress 4.6 (the dropdown in Google Analytics was the same for 4.5 & 4.6), like I say, after downgrade to 7.2 all things go to normal, the organic traffic is like always and in Alexa we won positions again (positions that we lost with the v7.3).

Until now we do not have any bad reports in this regard and this behaviour should not exist after this update because in the 7.3 version no major changes were made which may influence your traffic. For the moment I use 7.2 & WordPress 4.6
I think that 7.2 it’s fairly stable: no errors in GW, the organic traffic is stable & and for the moment i don’t see any major bug.

Please keep in mind that until now we have only two bad reports from 28 000 users, regarding on loosing traffic and these were from various cases and not from our latest update. From our point of view, the latest version of the theme is very stable and you can use it without any problem. Please notice that we do not release any defect update.

We are not aware of any such issues and we have no seo issues for fixing in 7.4 There were 2 isolated cases with traffic loss. This could be some specific plugins or server set-up that is not compatible with 7.3 as we changed the implementation of visual composer in 7.3 but for all other users it seems ok so 2 out of 28000 users is pretty low. It could only be isolated cases. We ran tests and did not find anything wrong with our theme. When there is a theme breaking issue such as the one reported here, believe me, this forum will go wild. There will most definitely not be only 2 reported cases.

I have seen too a traffic drop after update to 7.3 and no recovery since then. Can you let me know step to downgrade or find a solution to traffic drop on 7.3.
My site is running on WordPress 4.6.1.
Please note that my site relies mainly on mobile traffic.

Well we are at version 7.5 now so you should try to update before you downgrade. The theme does not influence your traffic.

Plugins can also cause issues as they conflict between them and the theme or between each other.

With all my respect, I think you’re mistaken. The theme yes influences (and a lot) in the organic traffic!!!
Every file changed may affect from 0,1% to up (positive or negative) on the performance & seo on-page.

I understand. I cannot deny the existence of the issue if it has been reported. I do not claim we are perfect in any way, far from it, but I think if this were the case, all the forum would have blown up with such requests. Even the slightest issue turns into a monster on this forum and you will see lots and lots of topics with the same subject. A high traffic loss after an update that affects all users would have been seen a mile away. I do not claim it does not happen, but I think there are just too few users reporting this. This is the third case we had since version 7.3 of such report so I think it’s safe to say that the conditions under which this happens are pretty limited. Either that or people simply do not check their traffic… but that’s a bit of a long shot. What I can say is that I already reported such issues to our development team and if they find anything, they will fix it in the coming updates. Until then , use the version that is most stable for you and always to a back-up before updating to the next version.

Just my 2 cents on this issue. I have been experiencing gradual traffic decline for the last couple of months and have been trying different things to turn it around.
Came across this thread yesterday, and so I reverted my site from Newspaper v7.4 to 7.2. It has been just over 24 hours now, so very early days yet, but traffic improved within a couple of hours and has been consistently up by about 10-30% in hourly reporting on Google Analytics compared to the same day last week (which is what I always use, as my traffic pattern is generally very consistent across the week). GTmetrix and Pingdom scores are not significantly different, nor is site speed.
That seems a big difference in traffic compared to the normal variations I see, and I am not rushing to conclusions because it is only a day of reporting. I will continue to monitor it and report back in a week or so. I am tracking my most visited pages, which are all 1-4 years old, so I am not basing my comparisons on new material.

No, I just happened to still have the download package on my computer, so followed the normal upgrade process but using the older version of the .zip file.

First, i’m glad that i’m not the only one which pays attention to these parameters.
Indeed, from time to time with some Newspaper version we lose organic traffic and the ranking are duplicated or more.
The clear demonstration is that after downgrade to a stable version, all traffic an ranking positions comes back to normal in a few time.
