Hey there,
I have updated my Visual Composer plugin recently and it seems after the update, only the Visual Composer view tab for Posts seems to be missing. Visual Composer view tab for Pages seems to be working fine. Thus I am unable to edit information efficiently. Do advice me on this.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi,
Please check if you have Visual composer enabled for posts – https://www.screencast.com/t/gQaZIupR in the settings.
Thanks
Hey there,
Thank you for the prompt response, my current situation as of now,
Pages: Working fine
Posts: I have tried several methods around Visual Composer settings, however, the Visual Tab still seems to be missing. Leaving only the view of text/html for editing.
For better clarification, please refer to images below:

Hi,
I thought you have enabled Visual composer for posts and it is not showing in the post page. But this is not the case. If you are missing the respective option, please check in your profile if this is disabled by any chance

Hey there,
The option you mentioned is not disabled. So no reason for it not to work.
I’m wondering if the cause could possibly is because we ported the entire site from one server to the next. Because the one on the old site is still working fine.
The new server which we’ve ported the site to is AWS (Amazon Web Service). It has a security feature such as AWS Shield and CloudFront. The site is currently undergoing a PEN TEST (Penetration Test) so we cannot allow you to access the site for the time being. We can only do so until after they complete it next Monday (Singapore time).
However do note that this is not the first time we have done a site (using Visual Composer) from an external server and port it over to AWS. There was no problem then. This is the first time we’re facing this problem. So I don’t think it’s because of AWS but I might be wrong. Thus I seek your assistance on this and advise what are the possible issues that can cause this problem for us to make it work.
The AWS is also having some problem in itself and we’re also checking with them at the same time as we’re checking with you.
For your better understanding, please find below the time of events when the Visual Composer start to fail when we port over to the AWS server (attachment).

Hi,
This is a weird issue you are having, and I have not seen it before. I found a possible solution online in this topic – https://wordpress.org/support/topic/visual-editor-missing-15/
Maybe you can try the suggestions and the fix mentioned there, and hopefully get to the bottom of this or identify what is causing this problem. You could try to deactivate all your plugins and clear any caching installed to see if this has any effect. Also you could switch to a default WordPress theme to see if the option is available then, but I do not think the theme is causing this.
The theme has these requirements for the server
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
And modifications made according to this guide if needed
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Please let us know how it goes
Thanks
Hey there,
I am still facing the issue currently. I have checked with the Visual Composer Support and they have checked my website and replied accordingly.
“It looks like the visual tab is missing even for the default WP editor at your end. We use the same editor in our text block and hence the issue exists there too. Looks like a third party code is altering it. Please try deactivating all the plugins except visual composer and especially switching onto a default theme like twenty fifteen to check the same. You can then activate them one by one to find out the exact one causing the issue. Let us know if the issue still exists.”
I would like to check if I were to do the following and switch to different themes . Will it cause any theme / content lost?
Hey there,
As with the problem stated above, I have activated my license key for Visual Composer. There are updates to both the Theme and Visual Composer.
NOTE: I would want to check if updating the Theme would cause any sort of data loss? Such as css codings or data loss.
Or is it suggested just to update Visual Composer via uploading plugin to prevent any sort of content / data loss.
As below in the image below, automatic update to the plugin is unavailable.

Hi,
You can only update the Visual composer manually. Just deactivate and delete it, then install the latest version provided in the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
This editor comes pre-activated in the theme package and you can use all the available features, there is no need to activate the Visual composer bundled in theme package.
You can update the theme using this method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and also find more update advice here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The settings in the theme panel will not be lost, only modifications made directly to the theme files will be removed, as the files will be replaced.
As suggested in the update guide, you should make a full backup before you take any action.
Thanks
