I attempted to find my previous post with the same title but it doesn’t appear to be archived, so… here we go again.
I am using a child-theme of Newspaper
I do not have any alterations to the theme. I use the child theme merely as a good practices measure.
Newspaper theme is set to auto update.

Every time a new version updates the tag-div plugins uninstall and a majority of previous set settings in the theme panel revert to the defaults, such as logos, template thumbnail sizes, choice of headers, and more that I cannot remember but, I’ll make a list as I now have to once again go into the theme panel and change them.

Also I have to reactivate the theme with my purchase code every update as well.

I find this highly annoying, time-consuming and generally a pain in the ass.

We have added 2 custom fields to our post posts using ACF. We are now trying to display them on the post pages using “Single External Shortcode” shown by Bettina in the post below, but the data is not showing.

Display Advanced Custom Fields on Post / Pages

Hi,
First of all thanks for make such a great theme.
We are looking to integrated ACF to display some contact information fields (phone, email and whatsapp).
When we use the example in this link we can see the data, but we need some assistance with the proper formatting.

We need to only show the labels when the fields are populated and have to display the fields next to each other without the <br> (otherwise when empty other pages will get spaces.

We are also looking to like the whatsapp to an url (https://wa.me/field) to be clickable and also the email fields should be to mailto:

Is there any way you can help achieve this, otherwise we don’t see the theme working for us 🙁

P.s.: we tried some php in the shortcode field, but this isn’t working.

How is it possible to define default Feature values (like in the screenshot category 1, category 2, category 3: https://i2.paste.pics/FP7GA.png) which are profiled for each new post? Do I need to connect this with advanced custom fields?

We are using ACF (Advanced Custom Field) on our old site and have a field created for subtitles. We would like to know if there is a way to import the ACF field into the TD Theme Subtitles field so this can be used to display on a post.

Hello,
I wanna use the plugin https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/ to create meta fields for my Blogposts. The meta fields should be inserted into one template. Then I can fill out all meta fields for all of my 300 blog posts and I’m able to change the blog layout without clicking into every single post to import a new template.

And here is the problem:
My first idea was to create a “Cloud Template”. After working with it I found out that the templates don’t fit my needs. So I decided to create my own hard-coded post template to fit my needs perfectly.
I already duplicated the “loop-single-13.php” and “single_template_13.php”, changed all require_once(‘loop-single-13.php’); functions and also added a “single_template_14.png” as an image.

But somehow the new Post Template doesn’t appear in the backend of WordPress. What did I forget?

I hope somebody can help me.

I’ve been using Advanced Custom Fields for a long time and one of the fields is a “subtitle”. Now I’m trying to rely as most as possible on Newspaper features, so I would need to copy all posts (almost one thousand) “subtitle” values to td_subtitle.

I was trying to use SQL, but if I’m not wrong, seems like td_subtitle field is inside an array that is a meta_key of td_post_theme_settings – and I can’t find a way to SQL deal with arrays.

Is there a way to achieve it? Move all my old subtitle values to the Newspaper “td_subtitle” field?

I am currently working on a news aggregator website.I’m utilizing the archive to display all my posts in a feed. In addition to including the category and date of the post I also need to have the source listed. I have tried using advanced custom fields and adding code to the archive loop, but have not had much success. What can I do to add new metadata to the archive page? I am having conflict with Newspaper theme conflict with “Advanced Custom Fields” or “Advanced Custom Fields PRO” Plugin.

When I switch theme to default WordPress theme, Plugin works normally. But when I use Newspaper theme, It conflicts and not working.
