Amazon Affiliate has launched a new program where you can get revenue from other countries. There is custom Javascript code which is shown below.

In the theme panel it says not to use <script></script> but this screws up the code.

So I am trying to add a amazon affiliate ad to my front page and it is not working.
I went to Theme Panel – ads – custom ads 1…then I input my amazon ad code into the “Your ad code” box.

I then save settings.
I go to the front page and edit it with TD Composer.
I add an ad box and then go to Use adspot from: custom_ad_1.
I save the page but no ad shows up.

I’ve tried everything you’ve suggested and still no luck. I tried it on loop-single and template-single, in every combination before and after author box, before and after comments box. Nothing shows up. I am trying to get my Amazon Affiliates native ads to show up, but it’s not working. Works on the homepage.

But when I click on the advert, it doesn’t open up in a new tab? How can I make the advert link do this?

Unfortunately, the theme has not been designed to be used with Amazon Advert, sorry! Only Google AdSense code is tested for our theme. You can try using the Amazon Ads but please notice that we cannot say for sure if it will work or not with the theme, sorry! If you want to place the Ad Spots in several places in the theme you should use the do_shortcode method according to the following topic here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-add-banner-on-top-of-date-and-socil-media-icon/ Here you can see an example for adding adverts.

I have inspected your website and it does not seem to be an Article Bottom Ad. I saw that you are using the Amazon Ad which can cause some problems. I have attached the screenshots you requested.
Note that I have ads activated in only four Newspaper provided positions, Header Ad, Sidebar Ad, Article Inline Ad, and Footer Top. Every legitimate position has the Ad Title, “Advertisement.”
I have explicitly set all other ad positions to be turned off on all four platforms.
I’m still seeing rogue ads intermittently in either the sidebar widget “Adoptable Pet Of The Week” and “Featured Happenings” but never both at the same time.
There are rogue ads in the homepage “Most Recent Posts” section intermittently.
There are rogue ads either in the sub-footer or below the sub-footer but never both at the same time. This one is the only one that is not intermittent and shows on every page view. Hopefully, it can be helpful for diagnosis.
Reminder that I have no other plugins that serve ads. I’d be glad to grant you access to the site if you need it.

I have tried to insert html code into the Theme Panel for several different ad programs. The only one that actually shows on my site is the code from amazon.

You can learn to minify your main style.css using minification tools online. Google is a great resource for finding things. I use this : https://cssminifier.com/
And yes, if you use ANYTHING loaded externally, like Google Fonts, JetPack, social “likes numbers” on your page, weather widget, ad networks, etc. — all slow down your page as it has to “go fetch” stuff for page to load. So, choosing to NOT use Google fonts is one option.
Using fewer modules per page; meaning no more than 10 thumbnails on sidebar and footer COMBINED will speed things up a lot.
Per GTMetrix
1) optimize your images
2) Adding time to live settings for browser caching, for Woff/Woff2 to your htaccess file as mimetypes is advisable; the other items you can’t do much about as they are on other sites — and will impact your score
3) loading all those elements from Amazon ad services’ CDN is slowing you down
4) removing query strings is advisable
That stuff from share-a-sale is badly optimized.
Generally when setting up your site
* test without ads or external items to get ‘actual’ score for your post page
* then turn on ad systems and external stuff one by one until you can stomach how this affects your side adversely — your ad units are NOT part of the theme so you should complain to them about crappy optimization!

The recent update of Newspaper changed EVERY ONE OF OUR IMAGES on our “Pages” to have a image height restriction = 200 pixels (which is way too short…i.e. we don’t want a height limitation….or at least not one this short)
Since all our images are sized similar to “Posts”, this is creating a problem across our entire website, i.e. all the “Page” images are too short (https://StyleChicago.com)
Can you help us figure out how to change this (to get rid of pixel height limitation)

Unfortunately amazon ads are not tested with our theme. We built our theme to work with adsense and we provided the div’s to be used with other ads as well. Maybe the amazon ad require a special implementation our theme lacks. I can’t say for sure. If the theme ad system creates problems with your ads, I suggest using a plugin.
Not all ads work properly with our theme unfortunately. Even adsense has a few special types of ads that will not work through our ad system without adjustments done. Ads have evolved and there are lots and lots of ad types and adding compatibility for each and every ad type out there takes time and they are constantly changing.

I am trying to load Amazon native ads. I added the ad code in Article Bottom Ad area. But ads sometimes show up and many times don’t. I checked the source code, and it appears that ad code in not present.
I use caching plugin (WP Total Cache), but purging the cache doesn’t have any effect. So, caching is not an issue.
What am I doing wrong here?
Google chooses whether to use breadcrumbs or not, and they can do so regardless of mark-up. They grabbed our breadcrumbs on our old shtml website for years with no schema markup at all.
Generally you need to resubmit your sitemaps in Search Console whenever you make any changes to your site “markup” like breadcrumbs, themes, etc., so that they “reindex” and restructure your content in their cache.
All our sites using Newsmag and Newspaper, and WPION, (and our in house theme), all have breadcrumbs in SERPS.
Also note console errors on your pages can cause issues, so good to check pages with “fetch as Google” which will show you WHAT THEY SEE.

OK, i’ll try one more time on this. What I really want to achieve is this:

So that the people’s heads are not cut off. I was hoping there was a simple way to go this via CSS but no matter where I look, I cannot find a rule that sets the height of the images in the mobile theme. IF you can just tell me what the selector is that determines that, or where the rule is in the styles.css file, I can change it. I already created a rule to disable the images completely, but I would rather be able to show them as long as they are “normal” size and don’t just show the tops of people’s heads. Again, I don’t mean to be a pest about this but in our newspaper, and in every newspaper all over the world, there are dozens of “head shots’ of individuals that are all getting chopped off because of the default styling of the mobile theme. All I want to do is adjust that so that the images are acceptable to us and to our readers. Thanks!
