I’m new to the theme and the forum, I have to say I love setup of it and I’m enjoying getting going from using a different theme. I have a gaming site, MyGamesLounge.com but I am currently setting up the site as MGLmix.com while I get everything together.
I have a couple of questions/suggestions if I may.
1. Category descriptions. According to the SEO plugin from Yoast each category should have a 300 word description for good SEO (had no idea about this!). But this displays on the front end of category pages which is a bit much before any content.
Currently I have used the display:none css trick to hide it which is ok. Is there way to either a) use the read more tag to hide some of it but allow the user to expand it? b) Just display an excerpt from the text c) Use a toggle shortcode to expand more?
Could be an idea to make this a setting in a future update if we all need to do this long description for SEO.
2. Review Scores. At present, a review score is created by averaging criteria which is fine most of the time. But sometimes, especially for games you might want to round up or down by a few points.
Is there a way to display the overall score field on the post back end as an “override” option so we can manually type the overall score?
3. User review scores. More an idea, simply because its the one feature we are loosing moving over which is not such a big deal.
Have you considered in your updates adding the option for users to have an option to give their game score say, underneath the editors score?

I am sorry, but this is not clear. Why the H1 tag for the home page is never found by the search engines, crawlers or SEO tools? How can this be corrected? I do not want to break the site appearance/layout including a Text Field in the page to set it as H1. This is what I got from Bing:

Why can’t I see complete sentences like #1
I have a plug that allows for visitors to vote for a yes/no question, but since the update, the images that it displays are not being presented correctly. I have reached out to the WordPress community and the plugin author and the consensus is that something in the theme is overwriting the settings for them.
As you can see in this image: http://screencast.com/t/DIy89AQVqo, the Yes/No buttons are stacked on top of one another. However, they should be shown side by side.

I’m trying to add a video playlist into a post via the visual editor but it seems to be breaking the post, and not loading the page.

I created a new tag custom taxonomy. For unterstanding. I use the standard wordpress tags for bands and the new custom taxonomy for label.
Now I want to display the new “tag-group” labels in the same style as the standard tag after every post:
Also I want for the tag the same settings and design as for the standard wordpress tag. Here for example the description is missing and the article display view is different:

I am purchasing Newspaper theme. Some problem I am facing.

Is there a way to exclude pages or posts from search (for example test pages that are public, but we don’t want people to find unless they have the URL)?

For example, http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_travel/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/42.jpg will appear fine on a retina display, but http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_travel/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/42-696×464.jpg (used as a featured image) will show up with a lower quality despite having the same display dimensions.
To recreate,
Insert featured image on http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_travel/td-post-could-shanghais-disneyland-be-cooler-than-walt-disney/ into the blog post itself as an inline image.
Open the blog post on a device with retina display, and you’ll see the difference between the two images (featured vs inline) in terms of quality even though they share the same display dimensions.

Below, I gave you an example for what you want to achieve to put a button after the posts title. After this changes, you have to use a bit of Css with the code below:

There is just an example. You can adjust the values and put another image source until you get what you want.
If you want to have another different button for each post title, please find a plugin to do this for you.

Hi,
You need to create the css code and then add it in the theme panel->custom css box. We use a chrome extension called live css editor and the browser inspector to get to the part we want to edit.
For example on a block 4: you would use the code like so:
.td_block_4 .td_module_2 .td-module-title{
padding-top: 164px;
}
Just the title can get a padding-top and the excerpt will drop as well.
You can use the same method on block 7 by changing the classes and padding value.

I have checked your website and there seems to be no blurry images. The module 2 you use uses a 324×160 thumbnail and it seems to work as expected.

I’ve been using this theme for a couple of weeks and would like to find out how to do the following:
Increase (and possible change the black box to red for) the ‘Source/Via’ and ‘TAGS buttons under the individual posts., e.g.: “Source name / Source url” and “Via name / Via url” boxes. They are a bit small.

I want to put a button ahead of the post title that will contain a URL. The URL would come from a custom field attribute that I have created for a post.

Unfortunately, our theme has not been designed to have this feature. As you can see in the tutorial that you gave me as example, it is a feature only for SmartMag theme. To achieve this, it is not a simple task and are required custom work. If you are not aware of the steps that should follow to achieve this, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this thing for you, because we cannot provide custom work for the moment, sorry!
Another possibility for you would be to find a plugin with this functionality.

Please provide more details to your issue so i can understand better. The pagination is usually on the bottom of the modules, not on top of them. Please provide a link to your website and an example of this issue so we can inspect it. A screenshot of what you mean would be helpful.

I have built some Custom Post Type using the plugin CPT UI.
Now I would like your theme to show these CPT.
I can see them in the cpt&taxonomy theme panel, but when I go to a category with only these CPT, there are no post shown.
What do you recommend ?
It would be great if you guys could manage CPT more easily.
the ad size doesn’t even seem to work on desktop…
when i choose a certain size, it just defaults to a different size…
so for example, when i choose the size (inside the post): “width:728px;height:90px”
i always get the following size: “300×250”
Heh …. well, the short version would be … just install the main theme, don’t use child theme at all; don’t even upload it. (I don’t use child themes on ANY of our sites or client sites.) So, this way you have one set of things to optimize, manually minify, one set of functions, css, etc.
Just keep track of snippets with a map of which files/customizations you do. SO, when there is theme update you can paste in your functions.php changes into new file, for example; or if you mod the main style.css – make not of what you changed (e.g., search/replace default fonts). Use a good text editor with line numbering — so, you keep track of “I edited the hook at line 55 in file /theme/includes/td-whattheheck.php” etc.
Faster – no CSS redirect from child to parent; no mix of files, smaller to do backup of your site via FTP, blah blah blah.
So – that was short version. Long version would contain a lot of other commentary you don’t need to hear from me on this topic 😉

And of course if you manually edited the header template or any other template you would want to undo that.
Also try turning off *all* plugins except for Visual Composer to see if it goes away, then you know it’s a bad plugin.
