I’ve come back to Newsmag for my new website. All has gone well but I have a couple of questions relating to the theme.
1. I have implemented the filter within a child theme functions.php to enable shortcodes to work in the description of a post category. However, they don’t execute. I am using the MEKS Easy Maps plugin for location sensitive posts. Usually, this would work out of the box without a shortcode, but it doesn’t with this theme. So I thought I would try the shortcode option, but this doesn’t work either. I’m wondering if there is something within this theme that stops shortcodes working, even with the filter added to the functions.php.
This is the filter I am using:
add_filter( 'category_description', 'do_shortcode' );
2. AMP Theme – using the AMP Theme is it possible to exclude categories from showing in the Latest Articles and also on the Front Page Grid. While we can do this on the main website, we can’t with the AMP Theme. It would be useful to be able to filter out some pages, that we don’t want to appear on the front page of the AMP versions too.

If you are using the mobile them plugin and you want to use amp too, make sure that you have set this option in theme panel -> https://i.imgur.com/hU3irWD.png save the settings and refresh the page and the amp will re-appear in Dashboard.

I reached out to the ShortPixel team and received an answer on how/what fixes this issue. I have applied this fix & it works.
NOTE: For my Newspaper Theme setup I am using the sticky header for both desktop & mobile.
Solution: Go to (WP)Settings > ShortPixel AI > Behaviour and disable the option “Fade-in effect”, located on Settings > ShortPixel AI > Behaviour.

The “Stick to the top of the blog” is an WordPress option that can be set only one posts and this option is only for blogs, also this option is not working with our theme, we made a different implementation for the option and it can be set in Newspaper theme using tagDiv Composer, for example -> https://i.imgur.com/S8ysgpZ.png add the block that you want to use and set the post number limit -> https://i.imgur.com/M23H7P9.png -> https://i.imgur.com/FpwrCxg.jpg after that in filter tab set the post id number that you want to be set as sticky -> https://i.imgur.com/DHopcTN.jpg -> https://i.imgur.com/KHf0VHz.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/

I think that there is still something that is not very clear.

My site is verified in Pinterest, but when I want to activate the rich pins I get the message AMP false:

When we click on a category the page load with content & on the top its displayed subcategory and if no subcategory exist it display other category. Normally it display 4 or sometimes 5 category. My question is how can i increase the number of category to displayed?
My overall experience with TagDiv and Newspaper has been incredibly positive. But the lack of mobile-AMP customizability is very disappointing. The “AMP-Version” included in mobile theme is so stripped-down, it’s almost unrecognizable compared to a normal site. And there are almost no back-end settings to control design, function, etc. This is the only real shortcoming with Newspaper and I hope the TagDiv team focuses on improving this feature.
For now, I will be rebuilding the Newspaper Theme “Phone Viewport” mode in AMP for mobile by utilizing AMPforWP. AMPforWP offers a fairly robust suite of tools to translate themes to AMP. I’m aware this plugin is not on the preferred list, so I’ll give updates if I run into errors/bugs.
The TagDiv support team and forum is world-class, I just hope the developers add functionality to Newspaper Mobile in the near future.

Question: What is this css-selector for? How can I turn it OFF for my header & footer images? It doesn’t appear to cause issues with other parts of the site & images being picked up by shortPixel.
Please let me know what data-spai=”1″ CSS is doing?
What can I do on the front-end to disable it for the header/footer?

When data-spai=”1″ is removed from the CSS (Chrome/Firefox dev tools) the header logo and footer logos show up.

The tag shows up as part of the CSS for the header & footer. When the tag is removed (data-spai=”1″) – the header logo and footer logos show up.

I tried the mobile theme and AMP but decided I didn’t want to lose some of the functionality I’ve built into the current designs so I am not using these.
I have a problem – I have edited a photo to include text in a png format (advertisement banner to join a club) which I have on my desktop homepage. The sizing of the png is 1920 x 1080 and it fits perfectly well when I am viewing the site on a desktop.
When I view the same page on the mobile the png is obviously not in the correct size. How do i make sure the image size loads correctly in desktop and mobile views?

Hi, I want to show the average rating of my review on different places within the post AND the full review rating at the end. How can I show the average rating box e.g. next to some text. Is there a shortcode for that I can use?
Second – I really like to place 1-2 call to action buttons at the end of the review box at the end of the post. Could you maybe add this feature? Other review system like wppr or wp review pro already have this feature. But I would rather stick to your review management as this comes with the theme.

If you are using a pro demo, the footer is a cloud template, then you’ll need to edit it from a page, for example, you can edit the homepage, click on edit with tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/uweNRrc.jpg after that go down to the footer end edit it how you want (now you can customize the the whole web-page from fronted).
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins (theme plugins), also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

I got what you are saying but my question is: why other categories which are not in the post are also showing? you can also see the screenshot there are some categories which were not in the post but they were showing in the related section.
