Hi,
If you mean the author name in the post page, there is a setting for that
– https://www.screencast.com/t/W4PNMhnEKSC
Also there is a setting for the author box if needed.
Thanks
Hello gooma2,
The only settings to hide the Comment Count Box can be found in Theme panel, for blocks/posts. I have inspected your website but I did not saw any comment box to your author box.
Thanks.
I have the ‘Show Comment Count’ turned off on the Meta Block in the Theme Panel but it continues showing up on individual Authors Pages
https://movietvtechgeeks.com/author/jeffrey-lang/
It lists the posts they’ve created and next to that comment count. I am just trying to find out how to get rid of the comment count box.
Thank you.
Hello Catalin,
Could you point me where the code is for the Authors box widget in the Theme core files?
Best regards,
Kristijan
As a buyer and still currently a user, I have a couple of observations.
Plugins in one place please
There should be a file or page in your docs listing the contents of the plugins folder and saying what they’re for, and plugins should be kept in one directory, not two.
As all these plugins need to be updated manually, users need to remember that although they’ve updated all the plugins in the plugins folder, there are still two more plugins stored in the code directory. That’s not intuitive.
Speed booster?
I’m lost as to the point of the ‘speed booster’ plugin, which seems to get disabled by everything except sunshine.
I won’t list all the basic plugins I’ve found that disable the speed booster plugin, but it is a massive list including many of the default plugins I use on the majority of my sites (50+). However, I’m sure you’ll agree that website security is important. I have yet to find a security plugin that doesn’t disable your speed booster. Even ninjafirewall turns it off.
Author pages
Google have a list of strict requirements which sites must comply with before they can be included in Google’s news listings. One of those requirements is proper author attribution.
In this theme, as far as I can see, each post can show a user bio box, which contains the text copied from the author’s wp user page. The theme copies whatever is in the wp user box and pastes it into the bio field as unformatted text.
Okay, you can write your own plugin to force the bio field to accept basic html like line breaks and <p>, but this should be a basic theme feature, given the context.
If the author’s name in the bio box is clicked, the visitor is taken to an archive page which is topped by the same unformatted text field (yes, with social links below) and then a post listing below.
There should be an option to provide a condensed ‘bio’ for bio boxes below posts, with the option to show a proper, or full, author bio on the author’s archive page. The options might include not just social links/icons but things like address, phone number as well as bio. Not all sites need or want these, but some will.
Also, many articles are written by more than one author, so there should be a way of showing co-authors. And so on.
Given the importance of author bios and attribution to Google (this is important if you want your news website to get listed in google’s news listings) the author’s section needs to be considerably better thought out.
Just my observations.
Hello,
I added the Authors box widget to my sidemenu but it shows all authors at once.
Is it possible to show only 5 authors and sort them by the most number of posts?
Best regards,
Kristijan
Hi
I realized the comments counter of Authors box column and also the counter in author’s box in posts have always the counter in “0” although the post do have comments. Maybe is reffered to comments for the profile? Or are something I have to configurate for to add the comments in the counter? You can see it in right side in http://chilecientifico.com/
Thanks!
Hi,
Same in the authors box on posts – https://www.screencast.com/t/vnpSRU8WjOUh
Or in author page – https://www.screencast.com/t/UccdKg5MWH
The icon is part of the theme internal font
– https://www.screencast.com/t/okGwwwPx1
Thanks
Hello,
We all know you need to have properly sorted author bios, author arcives and so on if you want your site added to Google news (author bios seem more important than the news content just lately). So that’s what I’m tasked with sorting out now.
Having looked, I can’t see how to do anything to the author card except add social links. I can see there are references to author archive layouts, but I can’t find anything else at all.
How can I add a proper author bio?
All I see is the text box in the wp users section, and all that does is dump totally unformatted text into the author card.
I can’t even see how to do something as basic as adding line breaks, so the bio I just created looks like a dog’s breakfast. I must be missing something, so guidance would be appreciated!
Hi
I mean the Icon at the authors box
Cheers
Hansjörg
Thanks. But that would be overwritten on theme upgradation. So, instead of doing that I have written a small custom plugin to put the author box immediately after the main content. And, I have disabled the author box of the theme.
Hi everyone, i’m using the team member in tagdiv composer multipurpose and i’d like that the image and the name link to another page of the website (like the author box does). Thanks for helping.
Hello,
In order to move the author box from it;s current location you will have to move it in the code. You will need to edit the post template file for the post styles that you use: https://www.screencast.com/t/X3FLYKQ5
Thank you!
Can you please show me how to display the Author Box immediately after main content of a post?
Right now, on my website, for example, Facebook Comments (through a plugin), Share icons, Previous-Next Topic Navigation are all displayed before the Author Box. And, if there are several comments in the Facebook Comments, then the Author Box is hidden deep down towards the end.
I will put a pic so u can get a better idea of what I mean.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/u0ulz2szvyu2nrc/topbar1.jpg?dl=0
I also tried from admin to get rid of topbar and author and date also
Sure,
Here is the code you need:
.author .author-box-wrap{
display:none;
}
Thank you!
Hi,
Kindly help me with some code that hides/removes the author profile box only on Author Archive page. As seen in the screenshot here http://prntscr.com/ikch0b.

It seems that the log is not long enough to show full message, or the option it want to save is too long?
This usually happens and sometimes it updates successfully…
Hi,
That is the Related articles/More from author section, it will be displayed below the posts when enabled in the theme panel. It also has some settings
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/more-articles-box/
A setting to remove either the Related articles or More from author tabs is not available if that is what you are trying to do. There are solutions with modifications in the code. Removing either one from the code can be done in this file if this is required for you

Thanks
Hi,
Try this code:
.post .author-box-wrap .td-author-description {
font-size: 18px;
line-height: 200%;
text-align: justify;
}
Thank you!
Hello,
This is because the one on posts does not use a p tag to show the content. se the code without the p after the .td-author-description for the post author box.
Thanks.
Hi Simion! Thank you for your answer!
Unfortunately I didn’t find the solution to this problem. All settings were and are OK:

Disqus settings too.
I think (but I’m not sure) the problem is the Newspaper theme settings, because any change is visible on the site. For example I try to disable the author box below the posts, but after saving the settings, the box is still visible.
I really don’t know what the problem is. Now the Disqus plugin is disabled, but comments are still invisible.

I’ve tried everything you’ve suggested and still no luck. I tried it on loop-single and template-single, in every combination before and after author box, before and after comments box. Nothing shows up. I am trying to get my Amazon Affiliates native ads to show up, but it’s not working. Works on the homepage.
