Yes, WPBakery Page Builder can be used, just need to install it like a normal plugin. It’s included with the theme package and can be found at this path:
Newspaper-tf\code\other_plugins\js_composer.zip
Please note that if you disable the tagDiv Composer, the Newspaper theme will behave like a simple/default WordPress theme and will no longer provide the custom functionality you’re currently using.

Hi I have two sites with Newspaper theme. In the first site I can edit pages with WPBakery Page Builder but in the second site site there is only TAGDIV builder that me and my client do not appreciate. There is a way to add WPBakery Page Builder and delete TAGDIV builder?

1. Please make sure that you have the last theme version installed 12.7.3. This package, which can be downloaded from your Themeforest account, will provide the WPBakery version 8.7.1

I have to update WP Bakery Plugin. The plugin came bundled with Newspaper Theme, however on the latest update for Newspaper, WP Bakery Plugin is not there. How do I get the update for free? Are you not using WP Bakery plugin with Newspaper anymore, and if not what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to purchase this from WP Bakery page?
I am having major issues with TagDiv not connecting the links with images to pages and need to fix this right away. Is the WP Bakery plugin causing this because it’s not updated with the latest Newspaper theme? I updated Newspaper theme yesterday and all the plugins, except for this one.

I have downloaded the latest Newspaper theme package from my account but the latest version of the WPBakery plugin is not found.

Actually we had a few other reports concerning this file wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/common/common.php
Its a security module called CPGuard which flags a part of the code from that file from the composer. It’s a false positive however, we checked those cases and the code in the file was as it should be. The solution was to whitelist the file or path https://opsshield.com/help/cpguard/whitelist-files/ We will however check more to see if we can modify the code in the file so it doesn’t trigger security rules.
I’m not sure about WPBakery however. You could install the latest version for it https://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/js-composer-8.6.1.zip Seems they made security improvements in a recent update https://kb.wpbakery.com/docs/preface/release-notes/

The plugin is indeed provided with the theme, but we no longer recommend using it; we recommend using the theme builder, tagDiv Composer, all demos and templates from our theme are made with the theme builder.
You can find the latest version in the theme package if you download it from ThemeForest.
You can find the WP Bakery in this path Newspaper-tf\code\other_plugins if you want to use it.

This usually comes bundled with the theme from ThemeForest. If you downloaded the full theme package, you should find a /plugins/ folder that includes WPBakery.
Once found, upload it through Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, and then activate it.
I do not have WP Bakery Page Builder as a plug in option with TagDiv. Did this not come with the theme package?
Hello, according to your documentation it should be a Newspaper-tf/plugins/js_composer.zip file when downloading the last version of the theme files but the zip file doesn’t exist. I can update the plugin from the link you provided in this forum but I don’t want to risk my website using a non tested version of WpBakery Builder.

I’m currently using WPBakery Page Builder version 8.4.1 on my website, and I’ve noticed there are security vulnerabilities in this version. I’d like to update it to version 8.6.1, but I’m not sure what the correct procedure is.
I installed the plugin as part of my theme, so I’m not sure if I can update it manually or if I need to wait for a theme update.

Do you use a cloud template and the WP Bakery plugin? If so, it can be a plugin conflict between tagdiv Cloud Library and WPBakery.
If possible, please provide some screenshots and a link to the website where to check the problem

In this case, please connect to ThemeForest and download the Newspaper theme package from our account. Inside the package, locate the latest bundled version of WPBakery for WordPress.
Next, disable the current WPBakery plugin on your site. After updating your theme and other components, install the updated WPBakery plugin provided in the theme package.

Wow, did not know that it would just be that simple to fix. I’ve been scratching my head because of this issue for the past day trying to figure out why it was it doing that.
Disabled WP Bakery plugin and now it fixed the issue!
