Here is a screenshot of Block 25 Screenshot Block 25

I would suggest these changes to make it work, using object-fit style:

.td_module_mx17 .td-module-thumb,
.td_module_mx17 .td-module-thumb a{float:left; height:100%;}

.td_module_mx17 .entry-thumb {object-fit: cover; height: 100%; width: auto;}

Instead of existing styles, as object-fit works with all the browsers these days.

Re how to select from categories: my problem is the need for “technical” categories to distinct between blogs to be shown or not shown in a Block. These categories have no semantic meaning and should not be visible in the Category Siblings. My alternative is now to kick out the Category Siblings.
I’m strongly in favor of a multiple categories filter like the one for Blocks where I can list the to-be-shown categories.

I have encountered a slight problem when i was trying to replicate the single post template of the Cryptocurrency demo i am currently using.

I have no idea how to merge the 3 Blocks like you guys have in the demo content, i could use a couple of tips on how to do that.

I added a couple of images to explain visually what i am trying to do.

Thanks!

I’m working on a news site and some posts are going to show up in multiple elements. In some elements I can see the full featured image, but in others it shows a cropped version for the same post. Is it possible to set the featured image size for each element separately or is this based on the space given to the element itself?

I’ve noticed that the elements where the image is cropped I’ve only given the element 1/3 of the row, but in the elements that the full image shows it’s 2/3 or more of the row. Is this why it’s cropped?

Yes, another block looks fine but block 14 seem to have a bug.

I don’t think it’s cause by any plugin. I tried active only this 2 plugin which is newspaper’s plugin.

and the bug still exist.

Hi,

From what I can see there is custom CSS that stretches the composer rows, this should not be done – https://prnt.sc/pqlgyf
As a result the images will be stretched as well.

If you want a wider layout please consider using cloud templates. They can be used for categories, tags etc
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Category
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Tag
These templates are created with the composer, meaning there will be access to row width settings – https://prnt.sc/pqli96

In stretched rows we recommend to use flex blocks and loop elements for better and more quality results – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks
If you need help or you have more questions let us know.

Thanks

Hi,

The mobile theme is a plugin, you can simply deactivate the plugin. Then the content form desktop will appear on mobile (responsive version). The elements in the page like blocks and grids will adapt to display correctly on mobile.

Thanks

Hi,

The example you mention – https://prnt.sc/pqjt5k is block 1, which looks like this
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
Most predefined blocks Blocks (1->25) look different when placed in different layouts (1/2/3 columns).
What exactly is the problem you are facing? provide a link to where the block in question can be seen. I will inspect it to see if there is a problem with it. Let me know.

Thanks

Hi, after reading this post i can be able to create TagDiv Slide Gallery but can’t find a block to use that post(category) on my pages. I tried adding Big Grid element but that shows a box with the link and link open to a page with slide gallery with different page and so many things above and below Slide Gallery.

Thanks for your time and support.

Hi,

I see you switched to block 15 now, from what I can see it looks fine
https://prnt.sc/pqijjj
Was the issue happening only with block 14? Also, was it caused by a plugin?
A list of plugins can be seen here – https://prnt.sc/pqik9o
Let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks

Hi,

You could import and inspect a ready made cloud header template
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Headers
The columns by default will stack one above the others on mobile, but they can be made to display inline.
A mobile menu with 3 inline columns (usually menu + logo + search) can be made like this:

First column – https://prnt.sc/pqi5k3
Second – https://prnt.sc/pqi5or
Third – https://prnt.sc/pqi5tm

All the 3 columns have to be set to display inline blockhttps://prnt.sc/pqi6xj
Maybe I missed something, if you need help or you have more questions let me know.

Thanks

Hi,

If you have hidden it on all devices then it won’t appear anywhere. Open the CSS section in the composer and enter this code in it – https://prnt.sc/pqi1z7 the row should then be visible so you can interact with it. Then you can remove the code, after you make it visible on at least one viewport

.td-pb-row.vc_row {
display:block!important;
}

Thanks

Hi,

There is something you can try. Place the block you want to show only on mobile in the page, at the top as you want it. Then hide it for all viewports except mobile. Rows/columns/elements have a display option which can be set per viewport.

So for example you can hide the respective block on all the viewports except mobile
https://prnt.sc/pqhme9 -> https://prnt.sc/pqhmoa -> https://prnt.sc/pqhmub
The result should be how you want it. If you have more questions let us know.

Thanks

I either changed a setting or something broke on my header main menu. My sticky menu looks fine, but when I first load any post/page, the header no longer has a transparent divider. Instead of having a nice transition over the featured image, it has a divider sitting over white space, then the image starts abrubtly after it. It looks bad and I have tried everything in the TAGDIV composer to fix it.

Here is what the menu looks like on the theme’s demo page: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_life_news/2019/02/15/this-a55-bag-is-fast-becoming-part-of-the-it-girl-uniform/

Here is what the menu looks like at the top of my page: http://13w.e3a.myftpupload.com/2019/10/offset-shares-a-video-of-cardi-b-giving-birth-to-baby-kulture-2/

You can see that my menu has a block gray box above the image, whereas the top menu on the demo looks transparent below the menu and has a much nicer transition.

Thanks,

Dan

I am using tagDiv Composer but when I drop the block doesn’t look like the demo the posts are showed to be one below the other. As if it was broken.

I am finding it impossible to change the font setting for the date of posts on the homepage, on the category pages, and in the mega menu. I have tried changing the settings in the block via TD editor and globally via the theme panel but the change does not take effect. On posts it is fine.

The setting is being over-ridden by another setting somewhere. After clearing caches I can see it briefly show the desired font before changing to the default font.

Hi,

After I created the child theme the homepage design gets jumbled up and blocks are displaying abnormally.
Kindly help us to fix this issue. We need to get this sorted asap.
Blog link: https://blogs.aludecor.com/

Also, tell us how to change it back to the previous state i.e. going back to the default Newspaper theme so the homepage shows normally like before.

Hi,

Unfortunately on Newsmag there is no grid that can be set on 4 cols, but you can use a flex block -> http://prntscr.com/pq1ooa -> http://prntscr.com/pq1oxh -> http://prntscr.com/pq1p6u -> http://prntscr.com/pq1pg5 for more details about the flex block you can check this similar documentation from Newspaper flex blocks -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hi,

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.
Also if your thumbs look like this -> http://prntscr.com/ppzq7n -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thank you!
