Hello,

You need to update the code from your child theme; if you use the main theme, this warning should not be displayed.

Thank you!

When I make changes to a post and hit update the page goes blank. If I view it from another tab the update has been made. I try updating to the latest version 12.6.8 but still the same.

Here is what I get from the log
PHP Deprecated: strip_tags(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string is deprecated in …/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/loop-archive.php on line 99

Please tell me where it only appears on one page or the entire site. Did you add any code or elements from another plugin?

Hello!

There won’t be a new version of the child theme. You shouldn’t update it every time.

Thank you!

Thanks for your recommendation but I must use a child theme for some reason including adding AdSense code in <head> tag in the child theme. Please tell me how to update every time when available a new version of the child theme properly without losing data like AdSense code added in the child theme header.php. I know you will tell me to use the Sitekit plugin. But I don’t want to use that plugin

Hello,

If you don’t want to change the block, then you need to create a child theme and set the files for modules used on block 2, td_module_2, and td_module_6, and for block 21 td_module_16 -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ -> like this https://prnt.sc/BMdrnxXO3YwX -> https://prnt.sc/IJlPwUq2g7Wx

Hello!

If you will use in the future cloud templates (that we recommend), then you have many customization options in the TagDiv Composer. We wanted to create the easiest platform, so you can build your website without knowing any code and have the possibility to customize every field from any demo. That’s why you do not need a child theme with cloud templates. But you can use the child theme you have with the default templates.
The update does not overwrite the child theme. An issue with that could be whether your child’s theme version is compatible with the new version of our theme.

Thank you!

Hello,

Have you checked for a plugin conflict? Please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones; also, if you use a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache, and try again.

Thank you!

I’m currently facing an issue with adding a favicon to my site. When I insert the following code into the header.php section of the Newspaper theme file editor:

`html
<link rel=”apple-touch-icon” sizes=”180×180″ href=”/apple-touch-icon.png”>
<link rel=”icon” type=”image/png” sizes=”32×32″ href=”/favicon-32×32.png”>
<link rel=”icon” type=”image/png” sizes=”16×16″ href=”/favicon-16×16.png”>
<link rel=”manifest” href=”/site.webmanifest”>
`

the code gets removed after each official update of the Newspaper theme. I believe creating a child theme might resolve this issue.

Can you add it to your improvement list? Or is it possible to do it manually with a child theme?

Hello,
If you want to continue with the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin, then you can edit the homepage using the theme panel settings > mobile themehttps://i.imgur.com/485PT9t.png also using the mobile theme plugin you need to add content for your page in mobile editor, this editor is at the bottom of pages – https://i.imgur.com/dsnoZKP.png the mobile content should be created using only the mobile editor, no builders.
For pagination, can be change only in the theme files to display more pagination numbers, usually those are reveled one by one when those visible are selected. The problem wit the theme code edits is that those will be removed when the theme will be updated and those edits can not be saved in a child theme.
Thank you!

Hello,

Have you checked for admin-ajax error? Please verify the console when you try to import the template, usually, it displays a 403 or 404 error.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module that blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.
Also, make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Also, please check if this code is missing from your .htaccess: https://www.screencast.com/t/iN0R93dD3p from our requirements https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ this requirement is not displayed in System Status.

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

Hi Bettina,
Thanks for your help.
Saved changes do not stick. The settings revert back to default.
Not sure why, hence looking at CSS as a solution.

I do have Newspaper as a child theme, and wonder if that is causing a clash?

Calin

Hi roc-100, the child theme can be get from the theme package (unzip the package and check the code directory, there is a Newspaper-child folder, what you can do is to use a FTP to set it or zip the folder and you can install it as you install a normal theme) that can be get from your themeforest account – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
I hope this will help you!

Hi there. I have an issue with installing newspaper child theme. I located the newspaper child folder under Code File. However, I have no idea on how to download it. My website designer is asking me to add it and I see nothing in the folder that gives the option to install. Not sure if I am at the right place.Below is the link for the content of the newspaper child folder. What to do? Where to go? Thank you<img

Hi, I have done what you told me and it is not solved.
I don’t use a child theme

Anamaria

Hello,

Depends on what custom changes, if you will make a change in the theme files, then you need to use a child theme, but for the changes made with tagdiv Composer is not necessary.
Please make sure to create a backup of all files and the database before updating the theme, and ensure that after the update, the theme’s plugins, such as Composer, Cloud, and any other plugins you use, are activated

Thank you!

Hello,

Please reinstall the theme, and let me know if you made changes to the theme files. Also, do you use a child theme?

Thank you!
