Hello,

Please read this conversation and then below one : https://prnt.sc/Tjjd89mP2hig

We have these templates modified in the child theme: https://prnt.sc/OpT5u3stWyTH So now you can see this is the current page which I want to modify with new design: https://wordpress-745984-2533952.cloudwaysapps.com/deepika-padukone-feeling-better-after-being-rushed-to-hospital/

So let me know what can I do? The post template settings are selected to “Style1” and when I try to edit single_template_1.php file, it is not reflecting anything. So let me know.

Thanks.

Hello!

We tried to add the options in the TagDiv Composer, for the other mobile versions.
The files for the Mobile theme can be found here: wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/
I suggest you to use a child theme, because the child theme is not overwritten by the update.

Thank you!

Hello,
Normally you need to have the tagDiv Standard pack enabled, this can be done from Newspaper > plugins.
After that, if you want to set those templates in a child theme you need to use our guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ once all files that are needed are set in the child theme, the files from the child theme will overwrite those from the plugin, therefore t select the template, you just need to select the post style that you have edited.
Thank you!

And then, I know how to put them in the child theme with the right path, but I don’t know how to make that template active.

Hello!

You can create a duplicate template, change the value of the paragraph for the different case, and assign it to those posts.
If you do not want to modify the files, then you can modify it in a child theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
The code requires custom work, which is not covered by the support team.

Thank you for understanding!

Hello Anamaria,

No, we are not using any child theme. We tried deactivating the plugin and installing again however the issue hasn’t been resolved by doing that.

Any other solution to this issue? This is stopping us to edit even the homepage of the site.
Thanks

Hello,

Please let me know if you use a child theme; if yes, please use the main theme.
Also, please deactivate, delete and install it again from Newspaper -> Plugins.

Thank you!

Hello,

The error doesn’t come from the theme, so please check if you don’t have a plugin conflict.
Please try to use the main theme, if you have a child theme.

Thank you!

Hello,
By default, there is a template that should be applied for all users that are registered on your website.
Now to disable it I believe it can be done with some custom code that can be set in a child theme in functions.php, maybe this article https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/244351/disabling-author-page-only-for-subscribers will help you!
Thank you!

Hello,
I see, what I can recommend trying is to do a test using only tagDiv plugins and see fi the problem still persists. In case you are using a child theme, then, please set the main theme and check if the problem persists.
If the problem persists, then please set the PHP to v7.4 and check it again.
In case the problem is still no resolved, then please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and cPanel access. We’ll investigate the problem and try to resolve it as soon as possible.
Thank you!

I’m using a Google Pixel 6 pro.

Steps:

  1. Load the page on the phone: https://www.wheredoitakethekids.com/
  2. Tap on the hamburger icon

When I tap on the hamburger icon, the screen shrinks. The menu doesn’t get displayed.

I’m not using mobile pages
I’m using a child theme.
I’m using version 12.0 of the Newspaper theme

Hi,
For cloud templates you’ll need to edit this file -> wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/parts/tdb-login-modal.php the other one is for standard templates, unfortunately, this file can not be set in a child theme.
Thank you!

In the screenshot above, it shows the areas where the white bars show, here it is again:

https://www.booksblog.co.uk/newspaper-theme-screenshots

You can see the difference in the 2 sides by looking at the home page, and then one of the category pages:

Thanks

Hi mita and B3rdan, did you do custom changes in the theme files, or only using the theme settings. If you used only the theme settings, the such problems should not appear.
The theme plugins that you used where updated or only the theme? Do you use a child them?
Also, before any theme update is good to have a full backup for the website.
Another thing that must be checked after a theme update is the cache and object cache, those must be cleared.
Now if is related to the theme panel settings and those are not set how was before, if you have a backups it is recommended to restore that backup, if you do not have it, then you can try the theme panel backup -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Thank you!

I remember I made the change yesterday from the UI… However, I was able to change the link content using jQuery.

Making people change a theme’s file is not a good idea. When theme is updated changes disappear. You should, at least, suggest creating a child theme with an specific function for that!

I paste here the code I’ve used. It can be useful for other users.

jQuery(".tdw-wml-login-link").attr("href", "https://mysite.com/login/");//login link
jQuery(".tdw-wml-register-link").attr("href", "https://mysite.com/register/");//sign up link

Hi,

We’re experiencing unexpected behavior after switching to the Newspaper child theme supplied in the Envato download package (unedited). A different template (or, that’s what it seems to be at least) is being applied to our custom post types like https://staging-qxmagazine.kinsta.cloud/listing/lgbtq-gay-london-tonight/. The correct layout is on https://www.qxmagazine.com/listing/lgbtq-gay-london-tonight/ where the parent theme is still running.

Examples of differences on staging vs live are: no sidebar, title is a linked H3 instead of h1, category is displaying, social sharing not displaying, comment count displaying, author is displaying.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi,
Yes, we can check the problem, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com, please provide wp-admin access and also include the link of this topic to identify you.
I believe that something is interfering, because for me is working correctly (maybe is plugin or a child theme).
We’ll check as soon as we can!
Thank you!

Hello,

I just tested the NP12 update and that does fix the flyout menu problem we were seeing that you couldn’t replicate earlier so that is good. We are still seeing the problem regarding mobile theme/AMP. Do you have an update on this?

“Pages set to not use the mobile theme in the individual page settings are completely broken”

Mobile theme enabled (for mobile and AMP)
• AMP enabled (only for posts)
• Newspaper 11.5.1+
• PHP 8.0
• WordPress 6.0.2
Child theme enabled (blank from the plugin core with no modifications)
• A page that has the mobile theme manually turned off. This page should default to use the responsive theme but is broken.

Thanks-
Stan

Hi, what do you mean by child theme? I’m using the official theme. You can have a look: https://minecraftsketchbros.eu

Hello,

Please make sure the name of the theme is not changed, if you use the child theme, please use the main theme.

Thank you!

Do you have a child theme?

Thank you!

Ok, I deactivated the plugin Aruba HiSpeed Cache (which is a mandatory install – automatically updated by the hosting provider) and the saving issue has been resolved.

I’m not using a child theme, I’m using the Magazine Pro template

Hi,
I just checked this problem on my install and for mess seems to remain the primary category. Do you use a child theme or something? Also, can you do a test only with tagDiv plugin to test for a plugin conflict?
Thank you!

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is no option for this, but I believe it can be done with some javascript and custom css and the code can be set in the child theme in functions.php or even in the theme panel.
Thank you!
