Hi,
Please make sure that you update the Visual Composer plugin, delete the old version and update it from here – http://screencast.com/t/ExBJy1AK Then check the version – http://screencast.com/t/BprEF4AjdqH
Thanks!
Hi,
You can try to remove this condition from booster functions – http://screencast.com/t/fhBlRO6R but I also asked the developer about this and it is recommended by Visual Composer developers to have this function in the code.
Thanks!

Thank you.
Hi,
Please disable all plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN as I have checked your site and you have some js in the console – http://screencast.com/t/Af7FfMVJAxxr that may cause this. Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
Hi,
Ok, thanks! I will add also this and we will take a look and see if we can do something to fix it. If not we will open a ticket to Visual Composer.
Thank you!
Hi Chris,
i see that. Still don’t know what to do with this (i believe that if i could move it to the footer, then the load speed should be better):

Since upgrading the theme, I noticed dropscaps are no longer in the shortcode, I saw in another post they were moved to the format tab, but I dont have them there either. I found span HTML code with class and style and inserted that into my post, It display correctly in the visual composer but when I upload the post it no longer display correctly.
Thanks
Hi Guys.
I have Newspaper the latest version V 6.3.2.
My website is http://www.faceofmalawi.com
1) My problem is that the News ticker, homepage pagination, mobile menu are not working. Here are the details of each:
News ticker: shows the first post and when i click on next icon,, nothing comes up a # is just added to the end of my url.
Homepage Navigation: I tried all 3 options of navigation (prev&next, infinity load, load more button) nothing happen when i click them on the homepage, just a # is added to the end of my url. But on category pages and others pagination works fine. Its only the homepage thats unable to work these functions.
Mobile Menu : When I click/touch on the menu icon while on mobile device the menu does not come up just a # added to the end of my url.
Being a developer I got to thinking this might be some js or jquery problem – all related, but i couldnt find what is causing it. Even tried to deactivate all plugins except Visual composer incase of a conflict but the problem still persists. What could be the issue here? please check my site as the problem is still like this url: http://www.faceofmalawi.com
2) Not sure if this is related to problem number 1 above, but when I mouse over menu items on desktop site there sub items do not display until I am directly mouse overing the specific item, Also note that when I installed theme images were not showing so I searched this forum and used the ‘opacity‘ work-around to show the images, could this also be what I need to do for these menu items. Please advise.
I like v6 of the theme, you guys did a really great job if you can help me with these minor issues I would be very grateful.
Regards
Sean
By the way, I have face with some bug on js composer. When I add “ad box” with js_composer and specify “Use adspot :” to “sidebar”, I get “[td_block_ad_box spot_title="test title"]” instead of [td_block_ad_box spot_id="sidebar" spot_title="test title"] ( spot_id parameter is not be specified ). I read your code, It not specify any default value on the spot_id, so the ads will not be shown.
Thanks
Thank you Alin.
I was also writing to Andrew Ozz, WP Core developer and creator of the TinyMCE Advanced plugin, and just this weekend he replied this, which you could also send to your dev or include it in your ticket to VC dev, it might be useful for him:
Andrew Ozz wrote:
You will have to see how these plugins break the formatting. Generally
you can add another TinyMCE plugin to pre-process the editor content
before saving or after loading in the editor. You can even manipulate
the DOM inside the editor. TinyMCE has pretty good APIs for that.
I’m guessing these plugins add some code that relies on P tags being
replaced by line breaks. If this is on the PHP/server side, there is not
much that can be done. The code will have to be changed.

Hi,
thanks for your quick response. I installed the Newspaper6-Theme now for three times. Before this i deleted the old theme and the VC. I select all elements from Visual Composer settings. The result is every time the same, there are missing some elements is VC (see attachements).I’m desperately and don’t know what to do anymore.
I hope the screenshots show you, what i mean.

Kind regards
Frank
Hi,
Did you followed this guide to upgrade from version 4? – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also did you run the script to rename shortcodes(like it is suggested in the documentation).
Or do you refer to the Visual Composer elements from backend? – http://screencast.com/t/B2ExxHCzXQye Please make sure that you select all elements from Visual Composer settings – http://screencast.com/t/i33Um4pq
Please provide more details about this as I’m not sure what you mean.
Thanks!
Since Update to Newspaper 6 i’m missing some important elements of Visual Composer (f.e. Fronted Edit etc.) I have activate all items of shortcodes and deactivated all Plugins. I also made a new installation of the theme. Unfortunately without success. Curious is, that the missing elements appear when I change the template to another one! When I change back to Newspaper6 the elements disappear again.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks
Frank
Hi,
Please check this without CDN(disable if you use it), also disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer and clear cache. Then regenerate your thumbnails again and see if you still have this issue.
If this doesn’t fix your issue, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-access so we can take a closer look. Also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is.
Thanks!
Hi,
Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and also check this without any js/css minifications. I have checked your site and the issue seems to be caused by this css – http://screencast.com/t/5NGRKOvML – http://screencast.com/t/sqTAQGqG So this css and a margin and I guess that it comes from a plugin that you use.
Also if you refer to the quotes you can find them in Formats – http://screencast.com/t/nDCcuirC6Wx The shortcodes were removed, html is used now to allow a backend replica of the frontend.
Thanks!
For some reason, our slide doesn’t look anything like the demo link above. Is the “IOS Slider” you mentioned the “Slide” option that we can select when adding an element in Visual Composer? Only other options I see are “Big Slide” (which won’t work across 2-column) and Revolution Slider, which I’m not sure can be formatted to display Featured articles with titles (can it?).
Another slide issue we continue to have is that our images are always appearing slightly too small for the area, (screenshot here) so the title and category boxes hang over to the left. Doesn’t seem to matter how large the original image is or even the proportion. I’ve seen references to this in other forum posts but no solution that looks like it applies to us. Would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks so much!
Hi k24,
I have checked your site and the issue with social icons is happening also on desktop. Please check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and purge your files as I see that you use CDN, then see if you still have this issue with social counter icons.
If this doesn’t fix the issue, please try to replace elements.png and elements@2x.png files with those provided with the theme version that you use – http://screencast.com/t/NYJ6voKq
Regarding mobile menu you can use custom css the change it color: http://screencast.com/t/eu3aUxL2pm
@media (max-width: 767px) {
.td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap-full, .td-header-wrap .td-header-menu-wrap, .td-header-wrap .td-header-main-menu {
background-color: #fff !important;
}
#td-top-mobile-toggle i, .header-search-wrap #td-header-search-button .td-icon-search {
color: #222 !important;
}
}
Yes, you can use this guide to update the theme to the latest version(A-also video tutorial,B,C) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and you can do this without plugins active and then update the Visual Composer and other plugins that come with the theme(if you use).
Thanks!
I knew I was going to be behind by a version or two but I am still on 6.2 and the current version is 6.3.2. Do I update by deactivating and then deleting the 6.2 version and then uploading the new version? Also, have to update visual composer? Do I update VC before the theme?
Be sure to increase the base memory for your WordPress site in your wp-config.php file, to at least 64MB and preferably 96MB or more. Visual Composer and all the latest plugins like Yoast do use more memory and WP defaults to a paltry 40MB which is nothing these days.
I have mine set to 256MB but have lots of RAM.

Chris thanks for your response – what I did was just recreate the homepage from scratch ( via VisualComposer ) and everything is working fine now!
Note I have been too busy trying to build an elaborate ecommerce system for my company’s service offerings to update any of my sites to NewsMag 2.1x from 1.7x and test stability of new version of Visual Composer with “our server.”
Basically – if your server crashes with Visual Composer running, you will know you need to use older version of VC or the shim.
Radu will have to weigh in on whether the “shim” works with current version of NM 2.1 — I would “guess” that if the shim is included in the big download someplace then it may be.
In December we will be doing full OS reload to move to latest versions of CentOS, Plesk, etc., so that will be a whole new barrel of monkeys.
Our website at TheLatestNews after update to latest Newsmag 2.1 and WordPress 4.2.4 on front page if you scroll down a bit is showing sidebar below the article blocks (sidebar should be on the right side ) and at the end there is also some VC code that shouldn’t be present :
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/1"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
( composer also updated @ Version 4.6.2 ).
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
What version of visual composer plugin you use? Please try to increase the memory allocated to php limit: https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
Thanks!
Hi,
The space is there because there’s no height set on the image container. On posts which come with no image the excerpt and the other elements move to the top area. I’ve uses custom css to add height to the image container and you can see how it looks now – http://screencast.com/t/pH0oCBs8R2i
I think you need some sort of masonry block, unfortunately the theme doesn’t have one. A solution may be to create a new block but it’s not an easy task so i suggest that you look for a professional developer to help you with this task. An alternative would be to test the masonry grid available in Visual Composer – http://screencast.com/t/PFZA4lstRg – https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Grid+Builder
Thank you!
