Hoping I get an answer on this one…

Is there a way to write custom CSS that only applies to the page I’m actually editing?

The Live CSS tool is nice but it applies site wide.

Hi again Calin,

What about security? Even after upgrading to Newspaper X (following your steps), WP says we are still using WP Bakery 5.2.1 while the latest and updated version is 6.1.

Our main objective while upgrading is to improve security and solve that issues using theme’s latest version available.
May we rest thinking our site is safe and all plugins are up-to-date with Newspaper X?

Thanks.

for some reason, it’s injecting this into the post-new.php file:

<style>/* custom css */ .td-gutenberg-editor .editor-styles-wrapper .wp-block {max-width: 335px}</style>

For some reason, my block editor when I’m creating new posts is very narrow. Something is messing with the CSS of the block editor pages that messes it up big time. If I disable the TagDiv Composer plugin, the block editor returns to normal.

With TagDiv Composer Off:

With TagDiv Composer On:

I have a site with version 7.2 of Newspaper theme installed. If I try to upgrade directly to the current version by simply replacing the Newspaper subdirectory in the ../wp-content/themes directory, the site just falls to pieces, displaying raw css on the home page.
Is there an upgrade route?

I have fixed this one instance “39” by going to Inspect Element and changing

<input data-tdc-for=”padding-bottom” name=”” type=”text” value=”52″ class=”tdc-css-box-input tdc-css-box-input-padding-bottom” title=”Css padding-bottom” placeholder=”39″ data-model_id=”c17″ data-param_name=”tdc_css”>

to

<input data-tdc-for=”padding-bottom” name=”” type=”text” value=”52″ class=”tdc-css-box-input tdc-css-box-input-padding-bottom” title=”Css padding-bottom” placeholder=”-” data-model_id=”c17″ data-param_name=”tdc_css”>

but I am not a coder and have no idea what I’m doing. I guess these uneditable placeholders are the problem – but why have they appeared and is there a global fix?

Hi,

The few settings that you can use from the image are these -> https://i.imgur.com/26k1aax.jpg -> https://i.imgur.com/DHeFgb7.jpg
If you want you can use this code -> https://i.imgur.com/RsX49J7.png
.tdm_block_image_info_box .tds-button1{
margin-bottom: 20px;
margin-right: 50px;
}

It will apply on all image inf box, if you want to apply it only on the image you provide above you need to use the class from that image like this -> https://i.imgur.com/YCT9elT.png
.tdm_block_image_info_box.tdi_133_5a9 .tds-button1{
margin-bottom: 20px;
margin-right: 50px;
}

The code need to be set in theme panel> custom code> custom css.

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hello !

For the Back To top button you can use this css code: .td-scroll-up {
margin-bottom: 13px;
}

The code must be inserted here: https://www.screencast.com/t/J1Nxw5s5

Unfortunately I don’t understand what the issue is on this: https://www.screencast.com/t/dSxSqTyvjj

Thank you !

Hi,

All the settings and code set in theme panel will be save in database, therefore it will be not touch when you’ll make the theme update (the settings and code set for custom css will survive), if you have set some code in the theme core, the it will be overwrite and lost.
You can use our guide from here to update the theme -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ we recommend to use the B option, with manual update using FTP/cPanel

Thank you!

Hi! Can you help me with instructions to safely update the theme in our site? Our current version doesn’t have the auto-update feature and we need to keep our custom css codes.

Thanks!

Hi,

The problem is that on IPAD PORTRAIT is a margin top that is removed, you can add a code, this can e corrected using tagDiv Composer, select the main row from the content and select the ipad ->https://i.imgur.com/NuBOwoy.jpg and in css tab add a margin bottom I think for you it is 140px like this -> https://i.imgur.com/6mnI2BB.png if this is not fixing the problem, you can try a custom css like this one -> https://i.imgur.com/6yjlboS.png
.tdb-template .td-main-content-wrap {
margin-top: 140px;
}

The code need to be set in Theme panel> Custom code> Advance css > iPhone section.

Hope this will help you!
let me know the results!

Hi,

All the settings and code set in theme panel will be save in database, therefore it will be not touch when you’ll make the theme update (the settings and code set for custom css will survive).
We recommend to use a child theme only if is necessary to make some changes in the theme files, you can check more in our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Hi,

All the effects that can be apply on elements and be found using the search -> https://i.imgur.com/weCxXz7.png ->https://i.imgur.com/PAUulq3.png unfortunately this will be apply only on the box. If I understand correctly, you want to add an shadow on some text like this ->https://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.asp?filename=trycss3_text-shadow4 unfortunately our theme do not have an option for this, but you can achieve it by using a custom css like this one -> https://i.imgur.com/ajxbpHl.png -> https://i.imgur.com/Qvnetdl.png -> https://i.imgur.com/AHUnz3a.png the code can be get from here -> https://pastebin.com/m1M2MFq3

I’m not using a child theme with Newspaper and so far, I have not added any custom CSS code to my site. My question is this: if I do add code via Theme Panel > Custom Code > Custom CSS, will this code survive a future theme update? Anything else I should know about not using a child theme?

Vlad S
tagDiv Staff

Hello !

You can use this css:

.td-theme-wrap .sf-menu .td-normal-menu .sub-menu .td-menu-item > a {
color:red;
}
}

Thank you !
