I’m trying to find a way to set opacity for the pages and posts body, as well as for the sidebar.
But I can’t. Any single CSS way I tried is not working at all.
I want to have the entire background visible (with opacity set on pages and posts). The White area is just disturbing.

Any idea?

Hi Catalin,

When I add the code to Theme Panel > Custom Code nothing happens.
When I add the code in the Live CSS box, I see the desired adjustment. So I assume I can beter use the Live CSS box?

Anyway: with the code, I can adjust the background image of Header Block 6. Unfortunately, the image also appears overhere:
https://www.screencast.com/t/GWnihC6vVgp

Could you please help me prevent this?

Kind regards,
Nick

Just upgraded my theme from 8.7.4 to 8.7.5. and also decided to try Tagdiv AMP plugin (v 1.2).
I disabled Worpdress AMP plugin (the default one), and uploaded td-ammp v1.2 (was downloaded from themeforest.net). Everything looks fine, but Google Search Console warned me same day about hundreds of errors, and next day up to 1000. I got this type of errors:

1. The inline ‘style’ attribute is not allowed in AMP documents. Use ‘style amp-custom’ tag instead. (example: https://magazeta.com/2007/05/bishushanzhuang-residence-imperator/amp/)

2. Invalid CSS stylesheet: Disallowed HTML tag. (Most errors in the comment section. Like font tags in the comments)

3. Disallowed HTML tag.

After last update, my Custom CSS, Advanced CSS, Custom Java script and Custom HTML are NOT editable.
I tray to disable all plugins but didn’t help.

You are absolutely right, google seems to randomly detect it or not. I’m currently at 95 points on desktop an no blocking CSS. The only thing standing between me and the 100 is Minify CSS. It tells me the style.css of the theme and my child theme can be reduced by 16% and 91%. Any thoughts on what to do here? I suppose it’s not that critical but at this point I just want to see if I can hit the 100 haha.

Hi guys,

I have an issue with the speed booster plugin. Actually, I’m not sure it is an issue, i’m gonna try to be as clear as possible.

I tried to move td-plugin-multi-purpose doing this :

/**
* here we move the css
*/
function css_mover() {
//if ($this->td_theme_name == 'Newspaper') { }
// wp 011 - Newspaper 6

$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('bbp-default-bbpress'); //bbpress old
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('bbp-default'); // bbpress
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('contact-form-7');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-plugin-newsletter');

$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('font_awesome');

if ($this->is_ie === false) {
// move style.css theme style
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('js_composer_front');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-theme');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-theme-child');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-theme-woo');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-theme-demo-style');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td_live_css_frontend');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-theme-bbpress');

}

/* $this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-plugin-multi-purpose'); */
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('td-multipurpose');
$this->move_style_to_footer_queue('font-awesome-four');

with success (although google speed did not see anything like here).

But the bad thing is that some local modifications (like changing hover color) I did with tagDiv composer are not taken into account anymore. I think it is logical because the css of those modifications are loaded before “td-multi-purpose/style.css?ver=4.9.6”

Pictures should help :

Before moving td-multi-purpose/style.css?ver=4.9.6

After
https://www.screencast.com/t/IWziOksz2d7M

Do you have any suggestion ?

Hi,

Thank you for your help. I added this code into two different places. One of them is Theme panel > Custom Code > Custom CSS. https://imageshack.com/a/img924/9059/OEdTCD.png (did not work)

The other one is with the help of TD Composer; Home Page > TD Composer > Block-22 (Fitness).
https://imageshack.com/a/img923/9232/Pojt6u.png
and
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img924/6899/e01u48.png (did not work)

After adding, I clear all the caches.

Thanks.

You can manually add borders to the code using margins or padding:
https://www.w3schools.com/Css/css_margin.asp
https://www.w3schools.com/css/css_padding.asp
It is a custom implementation. It is not an official code. The oficial implementation of the images as one underneath the other.

Thanks.

Hi,

I see now what you are referring to, the color set for the post meta, for block 22 in the health blog demo
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_health/
By default that block looks like this
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-22/
Bust most demos contain custom design for theme elements, that default color can only be changed with CSS.
A code lie this will allow you change that color for that block
https://www.screencast.com/t/4sybDsWupra7
Use the color and opacity you want in the code, then enter it in Theme panel->Custom CSS (it will affect all blocks 22, unless made more specific)

.td_block_22 .td_module_17 .td-module-meta-holder {
background-color: rgba(185,60,44,.7);
}

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The multi-purpose header styles have a small issue when setting a background image or color. This is present on our list and it will be fixed.

In the mean time enter this code in the Theme panel->Custom CSS section after you set a background image for the header

.td-header-background-image .td-container-wrap {
background-color: transparent;
}

You can use the background parameters to adjust the image

Hello,

You can use the css tab section of the column text element and use the css box model to add margins, padding and borders to elements. https://www.screencast.com/t/OuZ69XD7y

Thank you!

Hello,

Please check the css tab for any margins you want for the element https://www.screencast.com/t/X7u655Gf.
As for colors, the text color can be changed from the general tab like so: https://www.screencast.com/t/6JoMYO6uZqiL

Thanks.

Dear Simion,

Kindly see attached:

1. We tried disabling all plugins, it is still the same.
2. We tried removing custom CSS code + plugins, it is the same.
3. All prior posts are affected too.

The visual editor shows black background.
The html version is ok.

Hello,

It depends where you test the modal image. On smart lists and galleries, the modal image was always set to on by default.It cannot be disabled from those templates.
If you want to simply disable it for all the website at once, please add this code in your custom css section of the theme panel:

<script type=”text/javascript”>
jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {var magnificPopupEnabled = false;$.extend(true, $.magnificPopup.defaults, {disableOn: function() {return false;}});});
</script>

Thank you!

Hi guys,

I am trying to change the Avatar in the Crafty Ideas Theme for Newspaper.

I am building the site for a client therefore I have to place my own email in Settings > General Settings > Email Address within the WordPress dashboard for testing purposes and I don’t want to bother the client with setting it to her address.

I have tried to change the 196 x 196 avatar manually using CSS which I can achieve using the inspector element, but I cannot seem to target the right classes to change it via the Live CSS editor on the Newspaper admin panel.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Thanks in advance,

Shane

Hi there,

I managed to make it work. Surprisingly it worked after putting the code in Live CSS instead of the Theme Panel Custom Code Section 🙂

Thanks for the help.

Hi there,

Even after adding the code it is not working. Also, the back to top CSS code is working for desktop but not for mobile.

Kindly check screenshot of the css added.

Hello,

Try the following code and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.

.td-author-line{
display:none!important;
}

Thanks.

Hi,

There are settings for that in the theme panel. If you do not use the mobile theme here
https://www.screencast.com/t/Zf4fGUoV0g
If you use the mobile theme plugin here
https://www.screencast.com/t/bAEiBFDo7krC
So there would be no need to use CSS code for that.\

Thanks

**ISSUE FIXED**

For anyone looking to achieve this, this is how I figured it out. I used chromes inspector tool and went through several different div elements. The one you think you need is not always the one that will produce what you are looking for, just keep trying the child elements until it starts playing ball.

The CSS I used to fix the job was:

.td-header-style-10 .td-logo-wrap-full {
background-image: url(“https://www.thechildhoodlife.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Childhood-Life-Logo-Background-1326-x-276.jpg&#8221;) !important;
min-height: 276px !important;
}

Hope This helps someone else trying to customize the design of the Craft Theme for Newspaper.

Thanks

Shane

Hi,

You can use nth-child selector – https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/sel_nth-child.asp
For example this code will hide Featured Posts:

.td-category-pulldown-filter .td-pulldown-filter-item:nth-child(2) {
display: none;
}

Thanks!

Hi Simon,

I tried that method already and unfortunately it doesn’t display the image correctly.

The quality is terrible and completely rasterized. I’m aware how the demo is set up too but just want to reproduce the image banner that is attached in my 1st post above.

When I use the inspector tool and copy the url of my banner into the space the demo banner url uses, it works perfectly, therefore CSS must be the answer.

I’ll have to have another go of it now to see what I can do.

Thanks for your reply!

As the title says it all. I got an updateed version of the theme today, but when I’m installing it says the folder exists which is obvious. But my question is when I replace the whole theme file, all the settings will also be changed.

How do I update the theme keeping all the settings same as it was before updating? (excluding custom css)
