Chris,

I’m somewhat new to coding. Would that be added in the same ‘Custom CSS’ space as the code Andrei provided?

I pasted the code you provided right under the code Andrei provided and it was almost what I wanted, so I tried removing the first half of your code and leaving the second half, but that didn’t work. So I removed the second half and left the first half. The result seems to be exactly what I wanted.

Thanks to both Chris and Andrei. This was definitely a collaborative effort. Now I’m all happy and stuff.

Hey guys,

I really like post template style 8, however on a smaller screen (I’m working with a 1366 x 768 resolution atm) I dont like the height of the transparant header on these smaller screens as it covers the whole page.. I would prefer to have a similar height of the header as in the category page style 8.

Is there some custom CSS I could use to adjust the height? Preferably with a media query so it only affects the smaller screens?

Hi

The theme code was tested and optimized for best performance, we have a lot of clients and the theme works well on a large variety of hosts.
First please make sure that you use the recommended server configuration for Newspaper theme, you can check our documentation for more details: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
There are lots of factors that influence the site’s page-sped. I suggest you first try this without any other plugins active, leave just VC plugin active the check again. To improve the loading speed look the mysql query cache: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/query-cache.html we also use it on our demo.
Also you can use the speed booster to move the js and css at the bottom of the page, eliminate render-blocking, but not for all plugins. Check the System Status if the speed booster is active if you use other plugins than the tested ones. You can find some useful information regrading speed booster usage in this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-questions/
Also you can read this guide, it may help – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Hope this help.
Thanks!

DaneOLeary,

I’ve been playing around with this.

/*adjust level of menu underline*/
li.menu-item a {
height: 35px;
}
/*adjust underline width and menu item spacing*/
li.menu-item a {
padding-left: 2px;
padding-right: 2px;
margin-left: 11px;
margin-right: 11px;
}

in addition to the css AndreiL provided. It seems to fix the problem of the line being low and pushing sections under it lower on hover. I haven’t found it to cause any other problems, but test carefully. I don’t use a top menu, so I don’t know if it would have an affect on that.

This is just me trying to hack in a fix, I am not a css expert, so it might be ‘wrong’, technically speaking,

Chris

Hi,

Thanks for developing this great theme. I have just bought the theme. I want the top menu in the mobile version too. I have used custom css mentioned here in old comments asked by the buyers. But the css isn’t working with me. Let me know how to do it.

Thank you.

Hello todaybase,

The CSS code that I provided you above it is only applied only for that Ad because I have targeted the ID of this Ad. If you want to add another Ads, you have to inspect these and target with them ID’s. You can find the ID if you use the inspector (Ctrl+Shift+I) like this -> http://screencast.com/t/xyfKcxtJMppn

Hope this helps!

Thank you for the message!

Hi

A basic css would be this one:

.td-a-rec{
display: block;
width: 100%;
height: 100px;
}

However you will need other customizations in order to make it responsive. For every device you will need different values for the width and height, also for all type of layouts where you will want to use the ad, one, two or three rows. The js error from browser console still appears and I couldn’t figured out why so far. This is a task which require deeper investigations and unfortunately I cannot provide a complete solution now.
When the time will allow us we will take a closer look at this issue but I can’t say now when we will have a fix for it.

Thanks!

Hello,

Header style 12 is a bit different and it simply uses a grey tint on the hover effects. This is the default state of the menu. You can change this with css if you want:

.td-header-style-12 .sf-menu > .current-menu-item > a, .td-header-style-12 .sf-menu > .current-menu-ancestor > a, .td-header-style-12 .sf-menu > .current-category-ancestor > a, .td-header-style-12 .sf-menu > li > a:hover, .td-header-style-12 .sf-menu > .sfHover > a{
background-color:red!important
}

Thank you!

Hi,

Can you please help with the next:

I want to add a (menu-item-1602) that has a 114 submenus to a page. In the header menu I did manage to add a scroll to menu-item-1601 by using the below css:

@media
(min-width: 768px){
.menu-item-1601 ul {
overflow: overlay;
height: 300px;
}
}

Now i want to add a clone of this menu item (menu-item-1602) in the middle of the page and have used the below function to create a shortcode:

function print_menu_shortcode($atts, $content = null) {
extract(shortcode_atts(array( ‘name’ => null, ), $atts));
return wp_nav_menu( array( ‘menu’ => $name, ‘echo’ => false ) );
}
add_shortcode(‘menu’, ‘print_menu_shortcode’);

The problem is that I want to add the style of the drop-down-box (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/drop-down-box/) but I am not able to make it work. Can you please help with the style for his menu-item?
Thanks

Hello,

This seems to be the default behavior od these buttons. You can however override this with a bit of css:
@media (max-width: 767px){
div .themeva_pricing_table .pricing-plan{
float: left!important;
clear: none!important;
margin: 0;
width: 33% !important;
}
}

result: http://screencast.com/t/NeOQxe9HuT
Thanks.

Hello,
You can hide the description from the gallery by useing a css trick:
.td-doubleSlider-1 .td-slide-item .td-slide-caption span{
display:none!important;
}

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello letenkyzababku,

I have checked your website and I saw that your post content does not have padding-left in mobile mode. This kind of issue could cause by the conflicting plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clears all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the plugins in conflict. Also, you can try the code below and add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

@media (max-width:768px) {
.td-post-content {
padding-left:20px;
}
}

Hope this helps!

Hi,
I’d just make some modifications to file Newsmag CSS file style.css and, in the past, I’ve already made these modifications in a Newsmag child theme. But after the last updates it seems no more supported because, for example, the simply copy of the original file in the Newsmag-child theme root directory causes malfunctioning to the site (i.e. icons in the top header menus and icons all over the siste are no more correctly displayed and only their placeholders are visualized. Moreover, from your documentation page, in the Child theme support section, I see that the file style.css is not in the list of files that can be overwritten by a child theme: is it correct? Should I really redo by hand all my code customizations to Newsmag/style.css file at every Newsmag update (and it happens quite often)?
Thanks in advance for any appreciated help.

Hello,

I have checked our documentation and everything works as expected:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-ad/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebar-ads/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/article-ads/

1) I have checked your capture and saw that the line height of the menu got modified. Either by customization or by a plugin. This can be corected if you provide a link to your website so i can inspect it and provide the css code required.
2) The code for this can be found here: http://screencast.com/t/dHQoIAUL1DsW
You can edit the text as you like.

Thank you!

Hello,
I have checked your website and saw that the font is a little big for mobile.
You can use this css to make it smaller and bold if you want:

@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-post-template-3 .td-post-header header .entry-title {
font-size: 18px!important;
font-weight:600!important;
}
.td-post-template-2 .td-post-sub-title, .td-post-template-3 .td-post-sub-title, .td-post-template-6 .td-post-sub-title, .td-post-template-7 .td-post-sub-title, .td-post-template-8 .td-post-sub-title{
font-size: 14px!important;
}
}

You can change the font-size in the code to your preference.
Thank you!

Hello jenosize,

Please try the code below and add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->

.td_module_3 .td-module-image {
display:none!important
}

The result -> http://screencast.com/t/N0VhhhLSO5ds

Another possibility for you would be to use another module for categories, without image thumbnails, like module 8 or 9 like this -> http://screencast.com/t/KQmhfMMH

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hello todaybase,

1) If you want to align the ad for your homepage, please try the code below and add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

The code is ->
#widget-container_1463 div {
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
}

The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/zuYlKNzVQpl

2)I have checked your website and I saw your article inline ads aligned to the left. Please check the position for your Article Inline Ads from the Theme panel and try to set it to be middle, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/EEDtpQq6V

3)Please ensure that you have set it these values in the right field like this -> http://screencast.com/t/b6tlY9AfPNCs and also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is necessary to do this because it is possible as some untested plugins wich are used by you could cause some interference between these plugins and our theme.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hello,
I have checked your website and it seems the gradient does not apply to your thumbnails, so the code still works. Try to remove the code and see the difference. You can remove the code from the theme panel and try it in a chrome extension called live css editor. Simply ad the code in the extension and you can activate/deactivate it with a simple click so you can see the difference live.
Thank you!

Hi Bodgan.

Issues 1 and 2 are now sorted, thanks for the help.

Regarding issue 3, it wasn’t untill I pasted the code you provided into single.php that I got it to work like I wanted to. I then added this code to custom css to adjust the results:

.single .g-single{
max-width: 1068px!important;
}
.single .td-a-rec-id-custom_ad_1 > div{
margin-bottom:2px!important;
margin-top: 48px!important;
}

Can you find any fault with what I’ve done?

Hi

Sorry fr that, i missed a selector.
Replace the previous css with this one, now should work fine: http://screencast.com/t/OLXmMTCe

.sf-menu > .current-menu-item > a:hover, .sf-menu > .sfHover > a:hover, .sf-menu > .td-menu-item > a:hover {
border-bottom: 4px solid red!important;
}

@DaneOLeary
unfortunately at the moment this is the fastest solution that i can provide. In order to work as you explained above are required many customizations in header’s css code. This implementation was designed for Newspaper theme and its accommodation at Newsmag require a different approach for the menu css code.
If you still need guidance on this or you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you as we cannot offer custom modifications at the moment.

Thanks!
