Hi,
None of you own content will be deleted by the theme. When you install a demo, there is an option to include content like posts, menus etc. If you uninstall the demo the import system will remove only the included demo content not your own, then you can choose to install a different demo and add your content, or create your own pages using the customizing possibilities of Visual Composer. You can change the demos without any concerns regarding you own content because it won’t be affected.

You do not need any section ID for any element in our theme. That option is there because visual composer put it there but our theme does not need it.
Please specify exactly what you are trying to achieve because you do not need the section ID anywhere.

Make sure the Big Grid is on a the full row in order to display properly, there just isn’t enough space for it set on a 2/3-1/3 layout. Please keep in mind that all the layout and functionalities which are found in this demo have been made using the theme features. I suggest you install the Scandal demo with the content and then you should check the homepage structure and you will see what kind of blocks has been used in that demo. Notice that each demo has an own style and if you want to replicate one of them from scratch it will be pretty hard to do that. You should follow my advice and try to spend more time to understand how it was built.

Hi I upload the newsmagazine demo on my website and now I’m changing the contents.
I cannot understand how to modify the SCHEDE TAB.
I’ll try to explain: I know how to change the the name of the single TABS but I don’t know what is the section ID. How can I create a section in my site? By now the tabs show random contents and I would like to personalize it.
Please explain what a “section” is and how I can create or modify it.

I just purchased Newspaper 7 today. Before I get to deep into building my site, I wanted to see if you could clear up a question. IF I install one of the 20 demos included, and start adding content to my site, but at some point I decide to change to a different demo, does that DELETE all my content on my site. I’m reading on the Demo install page and it says the following, “If you decide to change the demo or uninstall it, the import system will make sure that you website is clean: no additional sidebars, menus or content. It will leave your website just like it was before you installed the demo.” By reading that it sounds like it would remove all my content. Is that true? If so, is there a way to keep your content safe and install a different demo?

I have a fresh install of WP 4.7, Newspaper 7.6 and install of the News Magazine Demo, c/w content, there are various elements (Big Grid 1, and the 2/3 1/3 rows) on the home page that are broken. What am I missing? could fix it in CSS, but thought there might be something else going on that I’m not thinking of.

Simplificare
I installed the “Scandal” demo, and spent hours trying to make it look like the actual demo (http://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag_scandal/) without luck.
1) How do I make the front page posts look like a list with thumbnails instead of full posts (see image below)? I could not for the life of me find this in the settings, which could use some tweaks to properly explain the settings.
2) How do I create the “featured posts” at the top of the page? Again, there is no documentation for this nor does it appear anywhere in the settings.
Please provide a link to your site so I can inspect this highlight. You cannot replicate the highlight from the say what demo on another one without custom modifications. Each demo style has it’s own custom code and there is no setting to apply just parts of a demo.

I am aware of this but this is not what I am talking about. No matter what style I pick, it still highlights the whole menu div on hover or active instead of just highlighting the menu word only. In the demos the menu items active and hover are just highlighting and changing the menu item font, however in the working and installed demos it highlights the div instead. Say What is only demo that doesnt do this, even though in your live demos they all treat menus with same styling. I want to know how to apply the say what menu styling in other demo content.
I can screen cap what I am talking about if it helps.

Those are not dividers. Those are the block titles style. Each demo has it’s own unique style. If you add a block title in the news magazine demo, the title will show up with an underline…the divider you mention.
If you want to get that style you will have to install the news magazine demo

We are using the latest version of Newspaper 7.
When looking at your demo “NEWS MAGAZINE”, we see there are divider lines for the WORLD NEWS, TRAVEL GUIDES, TECH, and HEALTH blocks under the titles.
When we add blocks, we dont see the option to add these dividers.

Maybe i’m missing something but in all of the demos, as in the “say what” the active and hover items are the menu items themselves however in 7.6 active theme these are like hover boxes, and the font/menu item itself stays a single color. Is there some CSS code or menu option I am missing to get the menu to revert to this method of highlighting links? Text only on hover and not the huge hover box highlighting the BG?

Hi,
It seems you have a different demo installed (travel) that has a different css than the demo mentioned above. Like Emil said above, you will need to use custom css if you want to alter a demo’s look. You cannot simply move the css from one demo file to another as the classes are different and css will not work that way. You will have to target each element in particular. You will need css knowledge to do it though.

The demo content is pulled from our server so when you press the button your current demo will be uninstalled and the new one installed. If you install a demo with content, the demo content will also be removed. You will not be able to see the files as there are none created. All of the demo files are already included in the theme package and just the call for different files is made.

Hi, I see this is an issue with the theme. Look in the demo also happens this:

TagDiv . . . again I have to urge (beg? plead? grovel?) for someone to create ‘documentation’ section that is a very simple (and easy to create, for you) “map” or “key” as to what sections/parts/designations are what.
While the documentation descriptions are basically adequate for WHAT to do and HOW to do it, I find myself endlessly not being able to discern what element of the theme is affected. What’s what? Who’s on third? Some elements (“footer”) are simple for newbs, others (blocks? modules? excerpts? content? post title? article title? smart sidebar? standard sidebar? default sidebar? demo sidebar? post? custom post? default post? main menu? top menu? ETC ETC) these things I KNOW are second nature to folks who do website development day by day and for years. But for newbies it is a total mystery exactly what elements are what.
I’ve attached an image from one of your model sites with an example of what I mean would be VERY (!!!) helpful to those of us not in the industry. It would take someone at your end all of an hour to create a “key” of images that simply say “this is the header” “this is a module” etc.).
Every time I change a setting – and there are over 1,000 settings by my rough count – something other than what I think will change, get’s modified. A bit of help from your side would save some of us huge amounts of time on the simplest things. I’ve spent 6H so far just this evening simply trying to get a basic color palette on the main page set, but am wandering in the dark.
Please consider adding this most rudimentary part of documentation to your site. The themes are great but do no good if some of us are unable to discern what parts are what. It’s exceedingly frustrating. I just about give up after hours of flailing about merely attempting to accomplish the simplest tasks because I’ve no idea what ‘elements’ are what in your theme – and there’s zero documentation with any guidance whatsoever – just words and some videos saying just click click click presto bingo your site is done and amazing.
Yah, if you’ve been doing it for many years. If you’re a newb and haven’t, it’s hopeless.
