I didn’t do a backup because the demonstraton in the video didn’t work.
I thought I was updating my theme up until now, but I noticed that I never updated my theme correctly using FileZilla – (my version of theme up until a few minutes ago) Theme name: Newspaper Version: 1.7.1
After I uploaded the newer version the new theme panel loads FOREVER
literally a few minutes (around 3 minutes before I can do anything)

I’ve attached an XML file that you can use it to import the full demo content tagdiv.com/theme/users/newspaper.wordpress.2014-02-21.zip
But my question is why do you need the entire full demo, is only for a demo propose, there are a lot of posts, categories, etc and when you build your site you have to delete the entire demo content manually. Is only a non sens work for you 🙂
To import the data content you have to use the XML file attached and using the import from WordPress in Tools -> Import

Yes I noticed. I deactivated the Jquery plugin for Contact Form 7 validation. and its working now. Is there any way rather than deactivating plugins?

Give us your site URL to see the issue, probably you have some java-script conflicts caused by a plugin or something. What you can do is to disable all plugins or one by one and see if work.

About sidebar location, we have something in mind, we know is difficult in some cases to see from where a sidebar come on a post, or on a category or page.

– about Titles, you are right is a little confusing, we will try to improve it.

I would like to have a demo that will look like demo on your presentation site of “newspaper”.
I click on instal demo, but it’s quite different from yours.
My point is that i bougt that template not only because it’s a really great job, but for demo that you offer too.

I”m also confused with the demo content pages. I have different pages with the same title, but they seem to be different. I’m sure one of them is the “magazinely” layout I’m looking for from the demo site, but it’s hard to figure out which one it is. Suggest more descriptive titles.

it’s just confusing. Even if it were home, and then homepage 1-5, it might make more sense.
I”m probably picky, but the titles of the demo content posts are identical in many cases. It would be better for demo purposes if every demo post had a unique title as well as unique content / featured image. It’s just confusing sometimes to be playing around, say with setting a category for a post to see where it shows up and then to be confused because multiple posts have the same title.
Again, if it’s too much feedback, let me know! LOL… just sending along notes to try and give some good feedback.
After just installing the theme I’m finding some things that I think might might make it better or that I found confusing. I thought I’d drop a line and share in the hopes of making the next version even better!
1- Sidebars Organization: Organize the sidebar listing in the widget section to more accurately show their true location. IE: the top right “social” sidebar lists under the “newspaper default” one on a clean install. It might make more sense to have this sidebar listed at the top since that’s it’s true location in the layout. (it was confusing when I had a recent post widget showing up in this sidebar and displaying in the top menu. Didn’t seem intuitive that this would be a sidebar nor did the description of the sidebar really describe it’s location or purpose)
2- Widget styles – Perhaps be a bit more descriptive in style names? IE: in the social icons icon style 1 could be “full color” and style 3 “light on dark” and style 4 “dark on dark”… just makes it easier to choose styles if we have some idea other than 1,2,3..ect…
Not sure if it’s just me after toying with a few themes, but a default child theme install with demo content seems to have some inactive sidebars by default with tagdiv widgets in them. At first my “social icon” sidebar actually had a recent post widget already assigned.

I’d like to make a few points about bbPress and BuddyPress when using this theme.
1. BuddyPress Profile Page
The profile page for BuddyPress (front-end, accessible via http://example.com/members/admin/profile/edit/group/1/) is not how its supposed to look like. See example 1: http://i.imgur.com/TDpgYfl.jpg
As it can be seen on example 1, the “Name” should be below the “Introduction” and “Work Experience” profile groups.
2. Forum Topics Started
Forum Topics Started’s css is different from the bbPress css. It is accessible via: http://example.com/members/admin/forums/
It would be great if it has the same design as the bbPress forum itself.
3. Breadcrumbs bbPress Bug
When inside a topic in the forums, clicking on the last breadcrumb returns to a 404. Example, let’s say I’m on a topic the breadcrumb nav will show “Home > Forums > Funny Videos” the funny videos link will redirect to: “http://site.com/forums/topic/topic-title/Funny%20Videos” instead of “http://site.com/forums/topic/topic-title/Funny-Videos”
Also, the breadcrumbs themselves are not redirecting to the forums. Please do check.

4. Forum Categories
Forum categories pages are not showing the listed forums under it. Let’s say I have “WordPress” as my category and forums under it would be “Plugins,” “Themes,” and etc. When opening the Category “WordPress” it should have listed the forums under it right? Well, it’s not doing that. Please fix.

I thought I understand how it works before I read your post.
Just like you show me on the features page here:
the unique Article system should work on the entire page, but NOT including the sidebar(s), at least if I want. So I thought there will be an option, including or excluding the block, but there is not.
That really does not make sense to me if I put a block on sidebar widget area with the title “Latest News”, but actually it shows, say, number 36-40 posts. I hope you understand what I mean.

Yes! I am not talking about lightbox. But previously I didn’t used any plugin for that, I imported the demo contents from Newspaper Theme Panel and the lightbox was working!

It’s in just the right place for our sites. We’d rather have folks continue to read related content, and see the author bio, than add comments. Most people by now know how to scroll in a web browser or “swipe up” on a tablet.
FYI: this is why theme developers make “demo sites” so you can look at how the elements appear on the pages.

1. There on our demo, is like that because I’ve deleted some users and forum index was not updated. This happen when you delete users. This is a bug from bbPress plugin i think, is not a problem related by the theme.
2. The same issue here. I will take a look about this or i will try to rebuild it.
We have clients that use bbPress without any issue. That is only on our demo.

This happens on your demo site too. For the sake of your other clients, why don’t you try to figure out what is causing the conflict? The demo site should be a perfect example without any conflict, right?
I’ve just search high and low through every theme file and function in this theme and the ONE thing I do NOT see is code to DISPLAY the article bottom ad!
And low and behold, it doesn’t display.
I checked versions 3 and 301 – I checked all theme documentation, not one clue as to exactly where this spot is – I checked demo site and no ads appear at the bottom of articles.
Ad is currently set for bottom, disabled only on mobile.
First of all thanks for great work on Newspaper theme and swift response on my previous questions. Now I have run into problems with bbPress forum and I am not really sure how to fix some issues.
1) In main page of forum you see one person as last comment’s author across all subforums even if other subforums have another comments. You can see this behaviour even on your demo page: http://screencast.com/t/z3hcusuZ8. Is it possible to fix this issue so every subforum will show the name of last commenter in this subforum and not the subforum group (category)
2) Every reply on discussion shows the same date and time: http://screencast.com/t/PsVWe2Uu1b. Is it possible to fix this so it shows exact date and time when reply was added?

I’m referring to the small “<” and “>” arrows that are on the “DON’T MISS” category.
Go to . Immediately after the slider, there is a “DON’T MISS” category. On the right, immediately above the “ALL” “CELEBRITY” “PEOPLE” and “TRENDS” categories, you can see the small “<” and “>”. See below image:
These “<” and “>” arrows are missing in the mobile version.
