Hi,
Could you please tell me if the main image slider (Flex Block 2) on newspaper_kattmar_pro can be set to automatically advance to the next image every x seconds? I see there are next/previous buttons, but I would also like the transitions to happen automatically. Or should I use RevSlider in that case?
Thank you!
Hi,
I’m glad that you manage the previous issue.
1. Those thumbs are from the plugin you are using for the videos (Elite video player), please check all the settings form the plugin. The css is coming from the plugin and it should be set on contain not on cover – https://i.imgur.com/DogStvz.png the results will be https://i.imgur.com/GC11B5o.png
2. You are using a post loop element and that one use images that are set as background and there is now option to display them full with that element at that size, only if you interfere with a custom css to display the thumb like this – https://i.imgur.com/zrm7gYk.png now the best approach is to create a custom module after your needs https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/
If you want to use the css, you can try this one:
.tdb_loop [class*="tdb_module_loop"] .td-thumb-css {
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-size: contain;
}
3. That is a custom code, and I do not know exactly how it will work in our theme, but you can create your own blocks in our theme using the Flex Block Builder and Flex Loop Builder and for this you can create as many Modules you want and how you want https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hi,
Thank you for clarification.
This can be obtain only if you create your own module the the Module builder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/ then display those modules in Flex Block Builder and Flex Loop Builder there you can set the tags limit for the Module Categories/Taxonomies element – https://i.imgur.com/UuNs6Aj.png – https://i.imgur.com/42XcRzT.png
I hope this will help you!
Hi,
We don’t want to display posts from different categories, We want to show multiple Categories/Tag label in Big Grid Flex 5 Module—https://postimg.cc/214vBLbh, just like we do on the single post page—https://postimg.cc/MXNjPm11. Currently, it only displays a single category label even when a post belongs to multiple categories, and we couldn’t find any option to enable multiple labels.
Alright thx, i just deleted the search form from the mobile menu and it turned out that the missing form label seemes to be in the register/login section that is deactivated:
<!– register/login section –>
</div><div class=”td-search-background” style=”visibility:hidden”></div>
<div class=”td-search-wrap-mob” style=”visibility:hidden”>
<div class=”td-drop-down-search”>
<form method=”get” class=”td-search-form” action=”https://raiffeisenzeitung.at/”>
<!– close button –>
<div class=”td-search-close”>
<span><i class=”td-icon-close-mobile”></i></span>
</div>
<div role=”search” class=”td-search-input”>
<span>Suche</span>
<input id=”td-header-search-mob” type=”text” value=”” name=”s” autocomplete=”off” />
</div>
</form>
<div id=”td-aj-search-mob” class=”td-ajax-search-flex”></div>
</div>
</div>
How can we completly remove it / solve the issue?
All the best,
Daniel
Hi,
For this the best way will be to use the category/taxonomy or a tag and use a flex bloc or a custom module (if you want to create your own layout for “podcast”) and use the filter to display the those articles. Make sure that the category/taxonomy /tag is used only on those podcasts.
Thank you!
Hi,
I think that you want that each module from the big grid to display a different category, right? If is so then it will need to try a different solution, set a row and set it in 2 columns, after that in the right column drag 2 inner rows and the second one set it in 2 columns should looking like this – https://i.imgur.com/LP1fO8A.png then in each column set the Big Grid Flex 1 and set it to display only one article – https://i.imgur.com/5AhEYew.png then copy past this block in each columns (adjust the layout) and set in each Big Grid Flex 1 in filter tab the category you want to be displayed.
Thank you!
Hi,
We’re currently experiencing an issue with displaying multiple categories on our website. We’re using the Big Grid Flex 5 module on the homepage and intend to showcase 7 categories/tags within the grid. However, we couldn’t find any settings that allow us to show more than the default number of categories.
Each blog post has multiple categories assigned but it only shows one category as a label on the grid.
Thanks
Hi,
I will recommend to do a test, remove the cache from flex blocks elements and make sure the transients are clear, after that check to see if the number is of transients is the same or is lower.
I see you are using litespeed. LiteSpeed Cache can indirectly reduce the reliance on transients if you:
– Use Object Cache (like Redis or Memcached) — this keeps transients out of the database.
– Use the Crawler carefully — too aggressive a crawler can generate lots of transient data.
– Keep the database clean — LiteSpeed Cache has a Database Optimization tool (under LiteSpeed Cache → Database) that:
Go to WordPress Dashboard → LiteSpeed Cache → Database: Here you’ll see:
= “Clean All”
= “Clean Expired Transients”
= “Optimize Tables”
Click “Clean Expired Transients” to remove old ones.
Enable Object Cache (optional but recommended)
If your hosting supports Redis or Memcached, enable it under:
LiteSpeed Cache → Cache → Object This makes transients (and other objects) live in RAM instead of cluttering your database.
I hope this will help you!
Hi Calin,
Thanks for your reply. As requested, here’s a summary of the main blocks used on our site:
Home
Flex Block 1 / All categories / 6 posts / offset 0 / cache 1h
Flex Block 4 / Editoriali / 3 posts / offset 0 / cache 1d
Flex Block 4 / Ciclismo / 3 posts / offset 0 / cache 1d
Flex Block 4 / Basket / 3 posts / offset 0 / cache 1d
Flex Block 4 / Cultura / 3 posts / offset 0 / cache 1d
Post page
Flex Block 1 / All categories / 1 post / offset 0 / cache 1d
Flex Block 1 / All categories / 3 posts / offset 1 / cache 1h
Flex Block 1 / Related / 3 posts / offset 0 / cache 1d
👉 Our site: https://www.sport24h.it
We hope this will help you investigate why we are seeing over 10,000 transients created in a short period.
Thanks for your support.
Hi,
I think that this has something to do with the settings you have made on the elements from the flex block 2, for example if you set a new flex block 2 element the image will be clickable. i think in your case can be related to some margin that has been set on some elements (check for margins set in %).
Thank you!
Hi,
If is possible can you please provide some more details about the queries, maybe a list with theme if is possible. This will help us to investigate more. Also, a link to the website will help.
Using the “cache durations to our Flex Blocks (1 hour to 1 day)” will add transients, that cache from flex blocks is using transients and it will contribute to the transients situation you have
Using Flex Block 2. Only the title of the post is clickable, linking to the post content. I want to make the whole featured image clickable. I’m unable to resolve the issue using CSS. The webpage is eldia.uy, and the flexblock 2 is the first image on the left.
Hello Calin
Thank you for your reply. We would like to provide more context. Please see the attached screenshot https://imgur.com/a/MVy57MR : as you can see, our site currently has over 9,000 td_query_ transients, and all of them appear to be generated by tagDiv components — mainly the Flex Blocks.
If what you mentioned is correct (that this number of transients is a sign of too many unique, uncached queries), then we must be misconfiguring something in our setup.
✅ We have already:
Assigned long cache durations to our Flex Blocks (1 hour to 1 day).
Reduced unnecessary offsets and unique combinations.
Enabled LiteSpeed Cache page caching.
We kindly ask for your guidance:
👉 What exactly could we be doing wrong?
👉 Could there be a setting or a known issue causing Flex Blocks to create so many unique transients despite our efforts?
We appreciate your support to help us identify what needs to be adjusted.
Hi,
No, tagDiv modules shouldn’t generate thousands of td_query_ transients so quickly. This is a sign of too many unique, uncached queries.
This situation usually appears when the website has a large number of articles, pages, tags … also, those can be created by the flex cache option https://forum.tagdiv.com/use-flex-blocks-cache-option/
Use caching properly:
Enable a persistent object cache (Redis or Memcached).
Use a good page cache plugin (e.g., WP Rocket, LiteSpeed).
Hello,
we are facing a serious issue with the number of transients generated by tagDiv components on our site.
In just a few hours, the system generates over 10,000 td_query_ transients*, filling up the database and significantly impacting backend performance, to the point of causing 500 errors and severe slowdowns.
We urgently need clarification on:
– Is this behavior considered normal for tagDiv modules (e.g., Flex Block, loops, dynamic blocks)?
– Are there specific theme options or best practices to limit the creation of transients or to consolidate query caching?- How can we reduce the database load without disabling key functionalities of the theme?
This situation is becoming unsustainable — we need a solution to avoid continuous DB overload and server strain.
Thank you for your prompt support.
Hi,
The flex block elements have the option for “Show modified date” – https://i.imgur.com/Z4mgA8d.png is not this what you mean?
Thank you!
Hey there!
It would be great if Flex Blocks could show the last modified date, just like the Post Loop block does with its “Show modified date” checkbox.
Right now, even though we can sort posts by “last modified”, it still shows the published date – which makes the order look wrong or confusing.
Adding that checkbox to Flex Blocks would make everything more consistent and clear for readers. Hope you’ll consider it!
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
If you want to have the option to have unique articles on your website then you can try the unique option from the page – https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/
Also, you can use tagDiv Composer and set for each block a specific category – https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
Thank you!
Hi,
You can create a layout like that using an inner row, then set in first inner column a flex 1 with one article https://i.imgur.com/JOxl3ww.png – https://i.imgur.com/pVv8aUF.png – https://i.imgur.com/k1sk8WF.png then in second one set the flex block 1 with image set on the left – https://i.imgur.com/eqpVo4n.png – https://i.imgur.com/fkpsCC7.png. If you want you can import some blocks from the cloud and set them on inner row – https://i.imgur.com/TvX0i0n.png
Hi,
I need Flexblock3 to have excerpts also on the right side column, but as I understand previous posts that is not possible (?).
Therefore am trying to setup FlexBlock1 to look exactly as FlexBlock3, but I am not able to do it no matter what I try (always issue of formating).
Can you look at it from inside? how can I send you privately login data ?
I see that I can’t simply insert the needed data in td_flex_block_3.php
I use tagDiv Composer v2.7 and Newspaper theme v10.3.9.1 and it will be a pain to do an update. Would you please tell me how to edit modules connected to this block? Maybe this approach will work?

Hi,
The flex block file are on this path:
– wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_flex_block_3.php
– wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_flex_block_3.php
Thank you!
Hello,
I want to edit elements in the Flex Block 3 to add/replace code in it:

Could you please tell me where I can find this file?
Hi,
When a page comes out of the cloud it is similar to what you would do, but you don’t have to start from 0. As for reducing database queries, this depends a lot on what is set on that page and how big it is. For example, you can use redis and cache on flex block to reduce the number of database requests.
Thank you!
