Hi, I just bought the theme. I’m happy with it, but I tought it was a little bit more flexible.
Right now I have some issues with the theme that I don’t know how to solve:
1. On posts header, the one I like the most is the number seven. The problem is the height is too high, the title is not centered and I would prefer it to be in the middle and not in the inferior part of the image.
2. The content of the posts is too wide witouth sidebar. I’m not going to use sidebar, so I would like the content to be more narrow, with a higher margin.
3. I would like to add a suscription form at the end of all the posts. The position should be just at the end, before the share buttons. Is there any way to do it automatically witout adding it manually in each post? Something like a widget a the end of the posts. I’m missing after posts widgets on this theme.
4. I would like to add something like a full width banner on the top of each post with a suscription form before the post image/title. Is there any way to do that?
5. I don’t see visual composer on posts, only on pages.
6. Images are not adapted to blocks or thumbnails and there is an ugly gray background. Do I always have to use specific featured image sizes depending on where they are going to be shown?

7. Using the ajax filter, when I use offset then the filters don’t work well. With many categorys they are not showing any article. I would like to use offset to avoid repeating posts on the same page, but some posts, even they were not shown before, they are not showing when you switch to a specific category. I don’t understand why.

I am not “understanding” actually.
All the time you wasted talking over me could have been used solving the problem. Your “solution” with the refund is frankly ridiculous and offensive.
If you were a bit more concerned with customer service, you would have noticed that MANY online newspapers’ and magazines’ websites have the stretched and fixed on top main menu feature that I have spent so much time begging for here. See http://nypost.com, or http://nytimes.com to name a couple! Are you maybe not following current design trends for the type of websites you offer templates for?
I do not know if you are a developer or an owner, but your response is both inappropriate in terms of common business sense and meaningful customer service.
And again, if the solution you provide is non-working because of prior customization (actually my site does not have customization other than fixing the position of the logo and stretching the main menu, which by the way should be better managed by your template, but they are not), that means that either you or the other developers who have responded are providing bugged code.
And please, do not offend my limited intelligence by quoting your site’s policies as if a policy is not flexible enough to cater to your paying customer’s BASIC and MEANINGFUL requests, which are in line with current design and technical trends, then those policies are as good as crap.

Thanks, but i am not going to scrap the identity of my sites that i built so far and revert to the limited options the theme provides in terms of main menu display. Asking for a stretchable and working mainmenu the way i have it is not much and should be added by the developers for flexibility and convenience.
The last code you were kind to provide is not working properly and that causes the magnifying glass to move, not the prior customizations.

I love the big grids. Is there an easy way to edit how the title of the posts appear in relation to the images, aside from just using the 7 grid styles, which affect the color of the images but don’t really provide a lot of flexibility with the location and appearance of the type. Is there a way, for instance, to get the post title to appear under the image? Thanks!

BUT by a SEO sight, it could be very interesting to enable to add a descritption up and/or down. Even if it is a Newspaper, the AIM is to be read, so to be find, so to be SEO friendly.
That’s a real reflexion, not just “for me” but for everybody success and possibilities.
Sorry but I cannot provide any other suggestion. Our theme provides modules and blocks, visual composer provides accordions, tabs and a few other elements and you can use revolution slider (not flex slider)
Unfortunately if none of these options are good for your project you will have to use a plugin that can provide the desired effect.

We’re have found some code on the theme that appears to be some kind of device detection (android/ios etc). Is this feature available globally to use via javascript?
What we’re trying to do is use that device detection to write certain Ad Code sizes to the page. (We aren’t using Google AdSense but insetead are using Google DFP – Doubleclick for Publishers ).
The reason we’re doing that is because Google DFP isn’t as flexible as Google AdSense meaning that we have to define certain ad Sizes for certain theme breakpoints. For example: on desktop we show a 728×90, on tablet a 300×250 etc.
Is there any way we can easily implement this using that device detection?
Also, What mobile features does the theme bring for developers that we’re not aware?

Seems like ssl is okay when viewing on PC but when viewing through mobile with the mobile plugin on, the https in my mobile browser doesn’t turn green.
THe https turns green when the mobile plugin theme is turned off and when the site is viewed as its responsive self.
Perhaps something is not linking to https in the mobile plugin theme properly?
I’m using cloudflare’s flexible ssl.
Any advice, I’m all ears!

We already have a site running with thousands of visitors daily. I did a page speed test for mobile and we are geting 54%
I’ve cloned the same site on a sandbox location on the same server, installed your theme, even disabled most pl;ugins and we are now getting 0… but when we install your mobile theme whiich is not so flexible to do what we want, we get 34%
Ive left a few plugins we can’t do without and I went to status to see page booster
one by one I became shocked
v4.5 – Disabled – incompatible plugin detected: updraftplus/updraftplus.php
same for askimet, Disqus Comment System and some others
just seems that the plugin is of no use since these are kind of key plugins and even common ones too
please can you advice what next if your speedbooster doesn’t work?
What really concerns me more is that I activated 3 different themes on the same site and tested, they all performed way better and the only reason I bought this was the promotion that this theme was going to be super fast… seems a lot of optimizations beyond the normal is required if I’m not mistaken

This is Siddhartha from Farbound.Net. I have been using your theme for some time now and I have to say this – it is just wonderful with its intuitiveness, stylish appeal and flexibility. Plus your updates never cease to surprise. Though my support expired a while back, I was wondering if you could still supply me with some answers.
1. Can the smart side bar by any chance and via custom CSS be made to recognize stretched rows? Say I use template style 3 with the right side bar operational and then put some stretched VC rows into the content. If I do this right now the sidebar flows right over the VC containers. If I can get the sidebar to float underneath the stretched content, nothing like it. Presently I am using visual composer to do this.
2. The Smart List is not supposed to work with Visual Composer, is it? I tried that on template 5 with visual composer, but the sidebar gets pushed right below the content. Also sometimes the NEXT and PREVIOUS BUTTONS overlap each other. Or am I doing something wrong here?
3. For templates that include the headlines and subtitles within the featured image, is there any way to adjust both the subtitles and headlines to appear better with some spacing when viewing on mobiles? Right now it becomes a jumble. But works well with just headlines. These would be template style 3 and template style 7. For an example: view this page (I noticed this on chrome with the browser size minimized) – Outpost of a vanishing world
4. I followed your instructions and successfully placed an advertisement just above the footer section with a stretched visual composer row, background-color applied. The ad was visible but the background-color was not. Did I miss something?
5. Do you plan to include new post templates in the future? A template that has the headline and subtitle on top of a rather large full width image. I am doing this right now with visual composer.
6. I noticed the social share box at the bottom has some space. Was wondering if it could accommodate a COMMENT icon inside as well along with the word ‘COMMENT’ or just the word. You know, once people reach the end of the story they can not only share it if they like but also find the COMMENT WORD there – clicking which they could directly reach the comment section. The comment icon presently available right now is very stylish but I feel not many are aware what the icon stands for. Yes, I am also well aware people who comment are very less, but since I still come across a lot of reputable media sites using the comment word big and bold, I assume the word does better than an icon.
7. Do you plan to include the option of using custom background-colors with advertisements? I managed to add a light grey to the header ad by coloring the wrapper via css but if an adblock is on viewers only see the grey box. Not that I mind, I can always put a message that says kindly turn your adblock off. Though if you do add in that option, would be very nice indeed.

I’m running Newsmag 3.0 and all worked correctly until the last update to WordPress 4.6.1 of the last week. Now the background image link doesn’t work anymore (please see http://www.ntr24.tv/) and the mouse pointer shape doesn’t change from arrow to “little hand” on skin mouse over event. In the past, to get the mouseover behaviour, on your advice, the following custom CSS was placed in the Newsmag theme panel, but it does seem not to work anymore:

As you can see from the home page skin, the shape of mouse pointer changes only on the right and left sides of the skin while it erroneously remains an arrow on mouse over on the top of the skin. Could you advice how can I get the skin right behaviour as well as to get working the background image link?

A little advice for that users who will want to use this improvement for Speed-booster plugin.
Using this code in combination for example with that one provided by Chris S in his [tutorial], you’ll have a double-edged knife (you’re warned! 🙂 ) if not used with caution.
Good to know: even if you update your theme to a new version, browsers/CDNs/… and in the end users, they all not recognize your changes until your rules for “Expire headers” will expire! and I’m sure that you’ll go crazy the tagDiv staff 🙂 with: “my users not seen me changes/updates” or similar.
In addition it should be recalled that a normal users (visitors) which makes search on Internet, will not erase the cache from their devices to see our web (recent version).
So, if you are use this snippet, use it with precaution in combination with an flexible time for expire headers depending on your activity!
Can be controled also by Cache-Control Headers but that’s another story apart

Bummer… I also tried to move the smartlist 1 navigation to the bottom (or actually I want to copy it, so it appears both on top and bottom of the content).
I messed around with the td_smart_list_1.php file, but had no luck. I would really appreciate a flexible option to place the navigation on top or bottom or both. Would it be possible for you to create an alternative td_smart_list_1.php file so that we at least manually create such navigation?
I’ve just started using Newspaper theme but have a half dozen years experience building sites mostly using WooThemes Canvas.
I’ve read through the documentation and searched the forums plus tabbed through all settings but don’t find where I can set some essential dimensions.
First, where to set the page width?,
Second, how/where to set post slider heights(using equal feature image dimensions doesn’t solve this),
Third, where to input critical block heights for sections, or rows, in the Visual Composer, and,
Fourth, which block will receive the shortcode from the Revolution Slider?
I understand that a responsive theme needs to have flexibility but it seems that there should be the option to set at least a percentage for the most critical columns and rows.

Seriously, this has to be one of the worst themes, I’ve ever had to use.
Here are my issues I’m now experiencing after having you guys work on it.
1. I can no longer see ‘Video’ section for a post format, so I can no longer show videos on my website cause the format is stuck on standard cause there is no more option to add video now. THANK YOU!
2. You guys are horrible at understanding emails, I’ve told you I do not see anywhere to update the social counter, even then you send me a tutorial where I can look, okay, I’ve already viewed that cannot see it!
3. I had a white gap on my sidebar, it’s against TOS adsense to have it on a floating box, what do you guys do instead of fix your coding issue? enable the sticky sidebar, thanks, lets get me banned from adsense why dontcha.
Seriously, I regret paying you guys the $60, should of went with Flex Magazine, nice to know I wasted money here.

Hi Guys, is there anyway to add an in category search and filter on the archive page for articles within that specific category? I’ve attached a mock up to demonstrate what I mean. I know there is the category filter but this doesn’t really give us the flexibility to search the content as we’d like and can only be turned on or off for all categories not individual categories.

I know what you mean about finding that perfect implementation. Take a look at the post grid that comes with VC. That thing is pretty flexible, and I think that by implementing that both for the post type for display, as well as the filters, that you’d have not only a good implementation but one that follows a standard to some degree.
Incidentally, here’s the only code I could come up with to make this work. It is only OK on my site because my home page block 14’s are all dog post types and don’t need the filters because i am filtering to a specific listing-type taxonomy.

I originally tried putting the tax value german-shepherd into the taxonomy tag filter value, but apparently your code first checks to see if that filter yields any results somehow before it issues a standard query.
