Hi

In my website I have some posts that are from another authors and the posts must have their names.
I am using the “Molongui Authorship” Plugin in order to be able to create these posts without the need to create dummy users.

however in the posts preview in the main page it apears the user “admin”

Screenshot-2020-09-14-at-18-53-58

but inside the post it apears the coorect Guest user as desired:

Screenshot-2020-09-14-at-18-56-50

how can I have the “guest name” in the post preview?

Best Regard

Please fix the theme to work with guest / multiple author plugin. All the plugin I tried is not working with the cloud template. Thank you.

I have a site admin who writes articles and all his articles are attributed to him.

He also has guest contributors though, who send him posts to add to the site.

How can I set a custom author to override the admins name on these guest posts so that it has the name of the guest writer, instead of the admin? As we don’t want to create a new user for every single guest writer.

Thanks

And as a guest or administrator (even in TD Editor), especially in the stickly menu the first time it shows it in color, from the second on it turns black when I visit the site.

I add,
if I open the SVG file with the browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge) it is seen regularly.

I have a problem with my SVG logo, it is not displayed on Chrome and Firefox (also in TD Editor) only if it is in color, and only in Desktop viewport – Landscape viewport – Portrait viewport; in Phone viewport with the same SVG works perfectly.

If I log in with Safari (as a guest and as an administrator) I can see everything correctly.

I cleaned the cache (including Cloudflare), disabled the plugins but the problem persists.

Hi,

If you are using standard post style and not cloud templates, then you can use our guide for Co-Authors Plus plugin from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/adding-multiple-authors-articles/ also the Guest Author plugin can work to, but only with standard post template, with cloud templates will not work.

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hello,

I’ve searched the forums and found a lot of topics about CPT and the sidebar, but non seems to specify what to do if the sidebar is simply missing. Or I couldn’t find it.

I used Custom Post Types and within the single posts there is no sidebar. All settings are as they should be, but the sidebar doesn’t appear. Here is one example (hope it is okay, to post the link): https://www.beyondtheshow.de/convention_ratgeber/diamond-pass-diamond-guest/

Kind regards
Nicole

Hello I have an author issue which appears to be a conflict between Molongui and the Newspaper theme. The Guest author is not appearing properly and is pulling in admin meta names in feed-type blocks on non post pages. The “wrong” names may be related to each post’s metadata and how the theme interprets it. example:

Original post:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AppP9p_3Gk9Nik7M1e9VzzqOrXxO

How it appears in a “feed”
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AppP9p_3Gk9Nik_jto5KWA5iySFI

And how it appears in Search Results:

Hi,

I’ve setted amp mobile view, but the AMP view showing only if the user is registered and logged. While if i use my website like a guest i see the responsive version. Another strange things is that in some articles, i see the the AMP version while in other i see the normal view.

In AMP Settings i’ve selected Transitional and checked all boxes.

Activating mobile theme plugin, amp settings disappear and in theme mobile panel i’ve selected mobile + amp.

All articles are enabled for mobile version.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
we need the possibility to add guest author in any post.
There are some plugins to do that, and they works: in the post details the guest author is showed, but in home page (where we use Flex Block) and in category page not works well.
is there a way to do that also through coding? I’ve tried a script in functions, but seems that the hook is not read from the flex block. Also I saw that the Flex Block is generated from a plugin, not from the theme files, is it correct?
Can you tell me if there’s an hook for do that in your plugin, or how make it custom through the code?
Thank you.

Hello – I’ve been converting our test site to use Cloud templates instead of the default post template and I only have one issue remaining before I can make the switch:

I’ve been using the custom field “author_alias” for our guest blog authors and I’m not able to make that work with the new single post cloud template.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
Kent

Hi,

Unfortunately our theme do not have an option for guest author’s, sorry, you’ll need to find a plugin for this.

The text “By” can be translate from theme panel> translate -> https://i.imgur.com/cTUp8T6.png also if you are using a single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library, you need to edit the it with tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/Lco7XNi.png -> https://i.imgur.com/bwkALo3.png

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi there –

Just a quick suggestion that would be helpful for news sites and community sites with lots of guest authors:

Have the option to use the Source Name and Source URL fields to replace the “author” in the meta data for that article.

For example, if I have a guest author named Mike Smith, I’d add ‘Mike Smith’ as the Source and then his website in the Source URL. Even though I am publishing the post, the author would show as Mike Smith across the site.

This would make it so I don’t have to create a new User for Mike Smith just to post his article – which takes too long for sites with lots of guest posts.
It would also add a unique function to the Newspaper site and remove the need for the Guest Author plugin, which isn’t compatible with Newspaper at the moment.

https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/co-authors-plugin-and-guest-authors-plugin-not-compatible-with-newspaper-theme/

Cheers! Dale

Already talked with the developer about this. She’s so collaborative and told me that was going to fix this issue, but i had to act really fast cause i have around 70k unique visitors per day and everything was broken after the update to X and the conflict with Guest Author .At the moment i don’t need it anymore cause i’ve asked to all my authors to setup an account last winter.

I’ve tried to make this things work by talking with the theme and the plugin guys, but i don’t know if they find a solution cause i was in a rush and had to switch off the guest author plugin because i had a lot of problem with it.
I’ve solved creating all the roles manually and in the case the Author is not uploading the post by himself the Admin can upload it for him and assign to the proper Author using the default wordpress role using the native author box.
Hope this help.

Hi @Mercurial and @RobGas – I’m also in need of this feature.

I see it’s been about 4 months since this original post and I was just checking in to see if anyone had made any progress with the GUEST AUTHOR plugin?

My site is going to be 99% guest posts so I’m motivated to find a practical + efficient solution.

Cheers!
