- TutorialsDefault Block Settings Guide
I’ve been using Block Header 5 on my front page for the last 3 months (tempolacbrome.ca). Normally it elegantly displays just some of my categories with a “More” button.
All of a sudden, it’s displaying ALL my categories and the layout looks off.
I’m sure I haven’t done anything to the settings. Please help, thanks.

Also, when I install the Travel demo content the first row shows this (with a real image URL):
[vc_row full_width="stretch_row_content td-stretch-content" el_class="td-travel-header" tdc_css="eyJhbGwiOnsiYmFja2dyb3VuZC1wb3NpdGlvbiI6ImNlbnRlciBjZW50ZXIifX0=" css=".vc_custom_1490019638737{background-image: url(http://imageurl_goes_here) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Seems like there is some custom embedded CSS that is not accessible via Visual Composer.
I’ve done that but now the image is stretched vertically (to 740 pixels high even though the image is only 310px high) and does not stretch the full screen width. Here’s the first row:
[vc_row full_width="stretch_row" full_height="yes" parallax="content-moving-fade" parallax_image="624" el_class="td-travel-header"][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Thanks
Generally the reasoning behind doing this is on a slower hosting account, or for “sometimes” better mobile use. As in all things you need to TEST doing it both ways to see which provides better page load time.
For example, with https and http/2 on a modern 2017/18 next gen setup, running PHP 5.6 or PHP 7 with opcache on, might be better to load locally vs externally.
A lot of stuff I posted was primarily to “get stuff out of the header…” for better score couple of years back.
Hi,
The easiest way to do it without modifications to the theme files, would be to use some Css to style the default widget titles to look like your current style, like this for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Rh5cQh2n4P
I am assuming you are using Global header style 14, you can try this code and see if it is working for you. The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom Css
.widgettitle {
width: 100%;
font-size: 13px;
font-weight: 400;
margin-top: 0;
margin-bottom: 26px;
padding: 11px 0;
line-height: 1;
position: relative;
overflow: hidden;
text-align: center;
border: 1px solid transparent;
background-color: #000000 !important;
}
Thanks
When I change block header style of site, it is correctly applied to any widget provided by theme, but not on default wordpress ones like Latest comments or Site information. Its problem only with widgets composed to sidebar in Visual Editor, not affecting default WordPress widgets section – they show correctly.

Problem is that when I use WordPress widgets in Visual Editor, header is H2 a with different class. When I use theme widgets in VE, they have headers with H4 and correct class.
How do i change the default green line under the header colour?
I have tried looking through theme panel and the visual composer editor but i cant seem to change that colour
Hello,
I’m wondering if there’s a way to add subtitles to the excerpts of my post, so that the excerpt has a title and a subtitle. I’d like these to display on my homepage. My website is finalfatloss.com
Just wondering if there’s a way to do this.
In another thread, I saw this code that might be useful:
<?php $td_subtitle_module = get_post_meta($this->post->ID, ‘td_post_theme_settings’, true); ?>
<p class=”td-sub-title”><?php if(!empty($td_subtitle_module[‘td_subtitle’])){echo $td_subtitle_module[‘td_subtitle’];} ?></p>
But I’m not quite sure how to integrate it.
Here’s my front-page-php code:
<?php
/* Home page */
get_header();
// display – Your latest posts
// @see https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_home
if (‘posts’ == get_option(‘show_on_front’)) {
?>
<div class=”td-main-content-wrap td-blog-index”>
<div class=”td-container”>
<div class=”td-crumb-container”>
<?php echo td_page_generator_mob::get_home_breadcrumbs(); ?>
</div>
<div class=”td-main-content”>
<?php
locate_template(‘loop.php’, true);
echo td_page_generator_mob::get_pagination();
?>
</div>
</div> <!– /.td-container –>
</div> <!– /.td-main-content-wrap –>
<?php
// display – A static page
} elseif ((‘page’ == get_option(‘show_on_front’)) && is_front_page()) {
//prepare the loop variables
global $paged;
$td_page = get_query_var(‘page’) ? get_query_var(‘page’) : 1; //rewrite the global var
$td_paged = get_query_var(‘paged’) ? get_query_var(‘paged’) : 1; //rewrite the global var
//paged works on single pages, page – works on homepage
$paged = max( $td_page, $td_paged );
$td_list_custom_title =__td(‘LATEST ARTICLES’, TD_THEME_NAME);
?>
<div class=”td-main-content-wrap td-main-page-wrap”>
<?php
// display Big Grid Mob 1 and the content at the top of the page
if ( empty( $paged ) or $paged < 2 ) { //show this only on the first page
if ( have_posts() ) { ?>
<?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
<div class=”td-container”>
<?php echo do_shortcode(‘[td_block_big_grid_mob_1 sort=”featured”]’); ?>
<?php the_content(); ?>
</div>
<?php endwhile; ?>
<?php }
}
?>
<div class=”td-container td-pb-article-list td-main-content” role=”main”>
<?php if ( empty( $paged ) or $paged < 2 ) { ?>
<h4 class=”block-title”><span><?php echo $td_list_custom_title; ?></span></h4>
<?php }
$posts_per_page = get_query_var(‘posts_per_page’) ? get_query_var(‘posts_per_page’) : 10;
// query used on Latest Articles section
$wp_query_args = array(
‘ignore_sticky_posts’ => 1,
‘post_status’ => ‘publish’,
‘posts_per_page’ => $posts_per_page,
‘paged’ => $paged,
);
query_posts($wp_query_args);
locate_template(‘loop.php’, true);
echo td_page_generator_mob::get_pagination();
wp_reset_query();
?>
</div>
</div>
<?php
}
get_footer();
Thank you.
Best,
Dan
Hi,
@winstonsmith1984 You need to insert the code in the header.php file found in the main theme folder, between the head tags – https://www.screencast.com/t/xiodQBWJv2
Thanks
Hi,
I don’t fully understand why you would not simply use Header style 6 if that is the one you like, and why you want to modify Header style 7. Maybe you can explain better so I may give you a solution.
If you mean the block title color you can do it in the block settings
– https://www.screencast.com/t/MGUDuDud
More information about the available block settings and options here

Hi,
Unfortunately at the moment there is no blank page template available. Please try to understand that the list of suggestions and recommendations is big, and the developers have to decide what gets implemented as soon as possible and what gets postponed for later updates. I could not say when a template like this will be available, sorry.
One option would be to hide the elements on the page with Css based on the page Id
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/hiding-header-and-footer-for-specific-page/
Or you can search here on the forum for different solutions provided by our users.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi Simion,
The theme does not add any Og data.
Sorry Simion it seems you do not know, but from the beginning Newspaper theme has been og:image added in the header (look into td_wp_booster_functions.php). When Yoast is enabled, all the users have og:image duplicated.
@mydivyam, you can remove that part from td_wp_booster_functions.php (line 574…580)
Hello,
Yes, the css is missing on other demos. Each demo has it;s own css stylesheed. In order to replicate the travel demo on another demo, please follow this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-stop-top-header-image-from-stretching/
Thanks.
Hi,
For the category title you can try this code – https://www.screencast.com/t/2Gn6ozl9JD
You need to enter it in Theme panel->Custom Css
.td-category-header .td-page-title {
text-transform: capitalize;
}
Thanks
Hi Catalin,
Sorry, young DIY here :). I tried, but somehow it didn’t work.
As my default post template is “default” http://www.screencast.com/t/WVqhl8xyADA, I opened loop-single.php in /wp-content/themes/Newsmag.
I found the code line http://www.screencast.com/t/dIlv0ivnQmo, now can you let me know where I shall paste it ?
Here is the full code:
<?php
/**
* The single post loop Default template
**/
if (have_posts()) {
the_post();
$td_mod_single = new td_module_single($post);
?>
<article id=”post-<?php echo $td_mod_single->post->ID;?>” class=”<?php echo join(‘ ‘, get_post_class());?>” <?php echo $td_mod_single->get_item_scope();?>>

Hello CharlyBoss,
First of all, I will thank you for your interests in our theme! After beginning your project, I recommend you to star reading all of our documentation to familiarize with all of our theme elements and try to understand how each one works in order to start creating your site.
As an overview, in this site, http://www.mediahoarders.ng is used some of our elements, regarding on homepage, for example, header style 1, Font Awesome for Menu, 2/3+1/3 layout, block slide and pagebuilder+latest article+pagination as page template. You should try using the Inspector Browser to find out what items are used in the theme.
Our documentation can be found here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-newsmag-documentation/

Hello Vishal,
If you want to display the top bar menu on the mobile devices, you souhld use a bit of CSS code for it. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
@media (max-width: 767px){
.td-header-sp-top-menu {
display: block !important;
}
}
Thanks for the message!

Header Style: http://imgur.com/ahFDtJb
Style 7: http://imgur.com/XTICSrh
Style 6: http://imgur.com/Qhon6Jl
If I assume I understand the Section of “Header Style” well, then I suppose that Style 6 and Style 7 are Similar in everything except colors
But when I applied them, they appeared like this
do you see the difference? style 7 looks like it has empty spaces, and active category, hover style in the main menu are not the same
The question now is how can i remove this empty spaces, make the action category and hover style in the main menu in “style 7” looks like Their equivalents in “Style 7”
Summary: how can i make the main menu in “Style 7” looks exactly like the main menu in “style 6” ?
Also, when I look at the text version of the demo homepage page, the first row is this:
[vc_row full_width="stretch_row_content td-stretch-content" el_class="td-travel-header" tdc_css="eyJhbGwiOnsiYmFja2dyb3VuZC1wb3NpdGlvbiI6ImNlbnRlciBjZW50ZXIifX0=" css=".vc_custom_1490019638737{background-image: url(https://demo.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/banner.jpg) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}"][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Seems like there is custom CSS, but I can’t find it in the Visual Composer interface.
Or better this second version ??
// Remove jQuery Migrate Script from header and Load jQuery from Google API

Hi,
I wanted to know if this feature can cause errors to your thema:
Let me know, thank you

I have noticed slowness since I first moved over to the Newspaper theme.
I have spoken to Heart Internet when my website is hosted and they have seen the following issues in the logs:

Do you have any idea what these errors relate too?
If you want a background-image in the header and a seperate logo,
This works for me:
.td-banner-wrap-full, .td-header-style-11 .td-logo-wrap-full {
background: #000000 url(https://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/yourbackgroundimage.jpg) no-repeat;
background-size: 100% 100%;
}
